Started germination on 4/5, planted seedling on 4/7. First grow! Needs to be stealthy unfortunately, no room or risk for a tent at the moment. Sprouted today 4/9

Today marks one week into my Afghan Kush Auto grow out of my Spacebucket. Learning what the plant needs so far when it comes to water. Spent a good few days trying to tackle environment and fan speeds but overall happy with setup. Let me know if everything looks up to speed for week one progress! Happy to take any advice!

Did my first top dressing using Gaia Green All Purpose and worm castings this week. Did 1.5 tbsp of All purpose, about 10 tbsp of worm castings, worked into the first inch of the soil before watering. Was concerned with smell next morning but realized it’s the fertilizer and not mildew from overwatering, or poor drainage. I watered more than I normally do after top dressing to really work it into the soil layers. Also started LST, removed three fan leaves that were touching soil or blocking bud sites. Good progress this week, learning a lot. Much love!

Headed into preflowering. Decided to do another top dress since I skimped out first one and didn’t do Bloom. Included a bit more all purpose and added bloom with worm castings. Slight defoliation to give lower bud sites more light and also when crowded canopy. Wondering if I should stop LST soon and let the plant grow upwards. Space is limited in the buckets but I can definitely let it grow much taller. Thoughts on stopping LST? If not now, definitely planning on it heading into week 6.

Grow Questions

Should I continue to LST? Growing in 5gal buckets stacked. Verticle growth not an issue but seems like to keep bud sites low I need to push them up against the wall. Should I remove LST entirely? 1st pic no LST, 2nd LST in Spacebucket. Any advice is welcome.

I would defiantly keep the plant tied down. It enables nearly every branch to develop into main colas. You will be surprised to see if you take the training off, in a week of two the plant will have lifted the branches back up to nearly where they started. I would not pull down any more though, just let what you have grow up. It looks like really good job of training and I would keep it 100%. Kyle Kushman (The godfather of LST) would be proud.

Did some defoliation this past week as the plant continues to stretch and produce more buds. Left LST alone, no adjustments but left plant spikes in place. Temps starting to rise in grow area but air is moving in spacebucket. Added one more bucket spacer to give more room between top bud and light. Will likely have to add another at some point if she continues to stretch. Good progress this week.

Buds are really starting to form and bulk out. Watering more often as the plant is using more and high heat outside. Not much action this past week, very light defol here and there. Letting her do her thing for the most part. Excited to give her more space in a tent.

Removed some low bud sites that weren’t swelling along with some mid canopy leaves. Temps have been brutal this past week, doing my best to keep it under 90. Have good air circulation, tent exhaust going outside. She smells good!

Did last top dressing but wondering if I should have done it sooner. Plant seems happy even in the high heat. Watering more often, she’s thirsty. Buds are looking and smelling beautiful so far.

Almost ready! Fade coming in, some leaves dying off. Some seem to be heat damaged. Raised the light a few more inches. Have been monitoring trichomes, mostly cloudy with some amber at this point. Still lots of white hairs. Growth stunted from heat I think.
