Starting my first grow ever on the 8th of April (since growing cannabis became legal in germany on the 1st of April 2024). Never grew cannabis before. Do not really have a green thumb. My goal: Create a growing setup to get a reproducible yield of 50g in a 40x40x160 tent. In contrast to most grows I do not aim for maximizing yields - I would rather aim for creating the most efficient setup (seed, soil, fertilizer, power consumption, etc.) to grow cannabis legally. As indicated this is my very first grow. However, I decided to invest in a (hopefully) solid starter package on entry level. The tent is placed in my homeoffice inside my wardrobe to have it out of the way & silenced. My journey began this week on the 6th of april by putting 2 seeds into distiled water for 24 hours. After that (they did not pop) I transferred them to Royal Queen Seeds “Soil Plugs”. 06.04.24, 1500 Put seeds into distilled water at room temperature 07.04.24, 1500 Put seeds into Soil Plugs Put Soil Plugs to Small Greenhouse on top of fridge exhaust (perfekt source of warmth) 09.04.24, 1900 Put Greenhouse on top of Hearing mat (Set to 25°C) into Growbox 10.04.24, 0700 Germination, yay! Added tray of water into Greenhouse to raise humidity (currently: 50%) 10.04.24, 2000 Placed a hygrometer Insight the GreenHouse and voila: Humidity & Temperature are optimal!

Day 2, 11.04.24 0615 - Checked for roots - the root tips of both flowers are visible. I am out of time this morning, but I am going to place the plugs into soil this evening. - Increased lighting intensity to 40%, lowered Distance to ~20cm above tray because I am afraid of etiolation 2100 - Put the Soil Plugs to pots (4L) Made of fabric containing BioBizz Light Mix (moistened) - Put a humidity dome made from PET bottles above the plants - Added yellow cards to counter unwanted insects - adjusted Light to 30cm @ 60% I plan to let the plants recover from the potting stress in the next days without much interactions. Day 3, 12.04.2024 1800 - Removed PET Domes - Activated Fan to mimic wind - Activated Venting (5min on, 25min off) to keep Temperature at 25 - 25,5 °C and humidity between 68% and 75% during the 18 "light hours" of the day - No Venting during the night yet Day 4, 13.04.2024 1300 - Tested around with Venting during non-light times because humidity went up to 72% while having only 21,5°C (VPD approaching 0,4) - Set Venting during non-light times to 30mins vent / 30mins vent off per hour 2000 - Added bowl of water for increased humidity Day 5, 14.04.2024 2100 - after a quite dry night (50% humidity) I decided: I need to do Something about the humidity - especially during propagation and early grow Phase. Just scheduling the vent to 5 / 25 does not work at all. - will work on some kind of "poor man's VPD controller" made of arduino and DHC22 Sensor as well as a Relais. Stay tuned! - Gave both ladies some drops of water - waiting for some Hardware to arrive Day 6, 15.04.2024 2000 - installed my Poor Man's VPD Controller - more on that in the next days :) - Added 20ml of water to each of the Ladies - adjusted height to ~25cm above canope - increased light to 80% Day 7, 16.04.2024 No action at all today. Tomorrow I will initiate my first "real" watering in the morning with about 10% of the pot volume.

Day 8, 17.04.2024 0800 - Gave the ladies their first real drink: 400ml (10% of pot volume) of plain tap water ( 24h old) each, no nutrients yet. I sprayed water on the soil & gave it to them in two steps of 200ml each and 5 minutes apart. They looked relieved, soil was quite dry :) - Refilled humidifying pot of water - Relocated the fan to the right side of the tent Day 9, 18.04.2024 1800 - Nothing really to do but to keep Humidy within optimal VPD boundaries. Todays temperature 22°C @ 75% during the day, 18°C / 70% during the night Day 10, 19.04.2024 0900 - Turned Erika I 90° so that the use of the space in the small tent is optimized 2000 - corrected Distance between lights and canope to ~30cm again (Boy, them Kids are growing so fast ...) - switched lighting to 100% (50 Watts). Day 11, 20.04.2024 2200 - Wished the Ladies a happy 420 day - finally removed the heatmat beneath the pots (was switched off a long time ago) - exchanged the humidifier pots Day 12, 21.04.2024 2000 - Decided for a big step: I topped both of them. With Erika I there was no issue at all (because she is a bit taller) but with Erika II I hope I achieved the goal. I read a lot about topping before and know: it is not without risk (especially with automatics). I had topping in mind from begin on - and now I hope for the best for their recovery in time before blooming. - Hence the topping stress I decided to leave them alone for 2-3 days before I commence LST. In the end I would like to center the pots in the tent & let them grow in a rectangular 20x40 cm area (by tying down the main branches) - Soil is quite dry again. I will water them tomorrow in the evening - it will be their last drink without fertilizer I guess. Day 13, 22.04.2024 1800 - Gave both Ladies 2x200ml 24h old tap water - Inserted a wooden stick to Erika I's wider leaf in order to prevent it from touching the tent - I guess thats a first LST if you would call it like that - Both are recovering from the topping yesterday. The cut is already dried and both are looking quite good. Day 14, 23.04.2024 2200 - Worked a lot on Equipment that helps me keeping track on temperature, humidity and VPD. I installed an old ESP8266 along with a DHT22 Sensor to log that data into the Cloud (Checkout the Screenshots). This will also Help a lot understanding wether my "Poor man's VPD Controller" (another Arduino project including a DHT22 Sensor) works as expected - meanwhile both Ladies grow further towards the (artificial) sun - also today was the first day of me being able to smell the plants!

Day 15, 24.04.2024 2100 - turned Erika II as her outer leaves touched the walls of the tent - bent Erika I a little more (LST) - soil ist getting dryer again - plan on watering in about two days again - re-arranged temperature & humidity sensor inside the tent Day 16, 25.04.2024 Nothing to do but to watch and enjoy. Tomorrow will be the first watering with fertilizer. Day 17, 26.04.2024 0730 - Watered the plants with 400ml stale water each - plus 2ml/L BioBizz Bio-Grow as stated in the fertilizer scheme. Thought shortly about giving them just half of whats written down, but then decided against it: As this is biological fertilizer I understood it is quite hard to over-fertilize. Well, we'll see where this goes Day 18, 27.04.2024 2100 - re-arranged the DIY VPN Controllers Display to be able to see it on cam without panning & tilting - Soil is again getting dryer. I am a little afraid to overwater so I decided to let pass at least 24h again. Color is dark green all the way so it should be alright - also pushed the leaves a little away from each other and the stem Day 19, 28.04.2024 1030 - Erika I is really pushing it: it seems as it grew overnight by 5cm. Okay, a little exaggerated but still - Erika II however seems to fall behind. It looks good and all, but as I need to bring up the light again to a healthy distance, I decided to lift Erika II by ~5cm to match the height of both plants - lifted the light to ~30cm above canopies - again used wooden sticks to correct orientation of main leaves perpendicular to the tents walls Day 20, 29.04.2024 2100 - something happened: I think Erika I is going into flower - already! It is day 20 for God's sake. They grow up so fast. And judging from it's size actually a little too fast, but what can you do? - Meanwhile Erika II is doing fine - without signs of flowering yet, but she always was a little late :) - however, I did my first tries in real LST by tying down the 4 main branches a little to the sides in hope they will raise their heads again towards the light soon (I hope flowering + LST on Erika I is not too much) - tomorrow in the morning I will water them both incl. fertilizer Day 21, 30.04.2024 0800 - After LST from yesterday the branches are again facing the light. A little stretch to a wider diameter is also noticeable - that seems to have worked so far - Watered each of the Ladies with 400ml (incl. BioBizz Bio-Grow (2ml/L water)) in anticipation of week 3 where I will add Bio-Bloom and Top-Max 2330 - Re-Worked on the LST - the straps were losening. However, it is nice to see the bend branches - it is working already! - Having problems with the relay that switches the venting on or off regulating the humidity. Could narrow done the problem to a mechanical one: The relay just sticks a little. Maybe it is the increased humidity that causes the problems, who knows. Will think of something.

Day 22, 01.05.2024 - Not much to do but to further guide Erika II by imposing LST for better light usage of lower leaves Day 23, 02.05.2024 - Again a slow day. Just put in some wooden pins to provide some more light to the lower leaves - soil is again getting bone dry. Since I only water with about 10% of the pot volume I think it might be time already tomorrow, maybe in the afternoon / evening - also raised the lights to ~30cm above canopies again - Erika II is catching up in height - maybe I can remove the lifting box in a couple of days Day 24, 03.05.2024 - decided to give the ladies some water inkl. a fertilizer cocktail (~500ml each) - bought a couple of longer wooden sticks to guide the leaves & branches. May install a scrog net just for better organization/ handling - removed 2 leaves in total - also I am now positive: Erika I is definitely going into flowering Day 25, 04.05.2024 - Erika II catched up to Erika I in height so I removed the lifting piece. Now both plants are leveled on top and bottom (more or less) - Decided to remove some leaves. I removed every leaf that a) pointed inwards plus b) covered other parts of the plant - soil is again getting dry. Thinking about watering them in the morning Day 26, 05.05.2024 - Gave a round of water & nutrition: 500ml each Day 27, 06.05.2024 - Judging from the timelapse of the past days (see video!) I recognized: 500ml each second day might not be enough (mind you: it is only ~10% of the pot volume). Also after feeding the growing seems to explode :D (I fed for example on 05.05., ~17:00 hours). So I decided to give another round of drinks this evening (400ml each inkl. Fertilizer) at 20:45 which is around 24h after the last feeding. - Just realized: I did not measure their heights in quite some time. At end of week 4 both are clocking in at 27cm from top of soil. - Both showing now that they are ladies clearly - so I declare "End of Veggie" Day. - Removed 1 small bud on the lower part of Erika II. Also removed 1 leaf at Erika I that pointed inwards & blocked light. - Raised the lights to match 30cm above canopies again Day 28, 07.05.2024 - not much to do but to watch the ladies explode in height: they gained about 4cm in 2 days :) - watering is going to happen tomorrow This day also concludes week 4.

Day 29, 08.05.2024 1730 - Gave ladies a drink of 500ml water incl. fertilizer each - added two fresh yellow cards - removed my old DIY VPD controller unit (boy I learned a lot - for example that mechanical relais are not as durable as I thought - more on that later maybe) - Both girls look fresh & healthy - I am looking forward to this week! Day 30, 09.05.2024 - No action at all today. They are growing fast! Day 31, 10.05.2024 1000 - Raised the lights by ~5cm again. - thinking about installing a net that holds down leaves and lets the buds (which are uneven in their distance to the light) receive an even amount of light - Today after the "night" there will be a round of drinks again as both of the ladies let their leaves hanging 1700 - gave 500ml water incl. fertilizer 2115 - got the ladies out of the tent to give them an inspection. Both look good (from what I can tell anyways...). Removed 2-3 lower leaves and one smaller bud which do not receive enough light (again: from what I can tell - I don't know what I am doing, just following my gut feeling :D ) - and the biggest change: I installed a SCROG Net / trellus net! I was already able to stretch out the branches and it helps me organize the branches and buds towards a much more even canope. It is currently at about 35cm above the pots with the tops of the first branches poking through Day 33, 12.05.2024 - one round of drinks inkl. Fertilizer: 500ml each. Cheers, drink up! - also rearranged the buds to better fill the net Day 34, 13.04.2024 - another slow day while approaching end of week 5 - installed a 3D printed LED display holder - fit light a charm - soil is bone dry - there will be an early drink tomorrow morning Day 35, 14.05.2024 - Cheers - drink up ladies! Decided to give a tap more: ~600ml each, inkl. Nutrition In the end of week 5 both ladies look healthy and good to go. There are a lot of buds visible - I am curious to see how many of those will not evolve into popcorn buds. The height in the end of the week is ~38cm with Erika II being 1 cm taller than Erika I (who would have thought...)

Day 36, 15.05.2024 - The week starts with no real action but to double check the position of the branches within the trellis net. No surprise here, that the manual "rerouting" is getting lesser and lesser. The branches found their spots! - We start the week at 38cm height. I think we look at another week of stretch, but it already feels like slowing down. Day 37, 16.05.2024 - a round of drinks to the ladies: 600ml each inkl. Nutrition according to plan. Next watering might be on the weekend. Day 38, 17.05.2024 No action today besides taking a couple of close-up pictures for documenting things. Both are looking fine. Soil is dry, next watering tomorrow morning. Day 39, 18.05.2024 A round of drinks with nutrition: 600ml each inkl. BioBizz Grow, Bloom and TopMax Day 40, 19.05.2024 No real action today. I pre-rendered the timelapse for the running week (5 days in 1133 Pictures :D ) and noticed: The stretch ended more or less in the end of day 37. You can see it clearly that there is no significant grow since then. So from now on all the nutrients will be used to build up the buds which is I guess a nice milestone! Soil is getting dry again - watering will happen in the morning I guess. Jeez, they are thirsty these days! Day 41, 20.05.2024 Gave the ladies a drink right after sunrise (at least to them) at about 1800. Both look good, nothing much to do I guess. Day 42, 21.05.2024 No action today but to close the week with uploading a timelapse video. Enjoy!

Day 43, 22.05.2024 - Gave a round of drinks to the ladies - they were thirsty! - installed a De-Humidifier: I've had some trouble to bring down humidity during night time. It was stuck at around 68% and I do not want to give mold a chance - especially in the later flower which is about to come - the buds are getting darker - also found a fan leave which shows a yellow color. I understood that this is quite normal at this stage as the plant begins to suck the Energy of the lower leaves which it does not really need anymore. I guess tomorrow I will remove the leave in question and be done with it. Day 44, 23.05.2024 - Hacked the De-Humidifier to connect it to my already installed VPD Controller: When the humidity rises above a special threshold (depending on the temperature) from now on the Tube Vent, the Intake Fan and the De-Humidifier will lower the humidity. Bye bye never ending Tube Vent running an hello snappy reaction to rising moisture! Day 45, 24.05.2024 - Realized: This 30€ De-Humidifier is useless :). Deinstalled it and will send it back where it came from - although it would be time for a drink the soil is not dry enough yet. So I decided to postpone until this evening or even tomorrow - Decided to give water with nutrients today - right after watering I recognized brown tips on two leaves. According to my research it could be a) nutrient burn b) light burn or c) Zinc deficiency or of course d) nothing at all and to be ignored :). I will wait for 1-2 more days and see how it evolves. "No panic" I guess... Day 46, 25.05.2024 No action today. Day 47, 26.05.2024 - time for another round of drinks! I will cut down the ration to 50% (1.5ml/L BioGrow, 1.5ml /LBioBloom, 0.5ml/L Top Max) though to hopefully counter the slight burn on the tips of some leaves. If it recovers well I will possibly continue giving full bloom fertilizer, but only half grow fertilizer. Each gets 600ml (15% of pot volume) - Removed 2 bigger leaves from the bottom, that we're getting yellow - bought a pocket microscope to start checking on trichomes. I know: a little early in the game, but it is a bit tricky to get a good look so I guess starting early does not hurt Day 48, 27.05.2024 No action today. Day 49, 28.05.2024 - Gave 600ml water each plus a little shortened nutrition: full bloom & top max fertilizer, but only 1/3 of grow. - removed a single leaf that looks weird (all yellow, see picture). It is the only leave of that kind, the others look more or less okay. This concludes week 7. 3-4 weeks more to come.

Today I recognized brown tips on a few of the leaves (see pictures). Is it something to worry about? I am having trouble identifying the problem and how to counter it. My best guess is I used a little bit too much fertilizer for this automatic? But I am unsure...

I also think it is a bit too much fertilizer. Everything else is looking fine though so I would not mess around with anything else in a panic. Your best bet would be to go about 25-50% less in your next feeding. This should straighten it out without skipping a feeding. My guess is this is happening due to too much salts (nutrients) being left in the soil when the media drys out. Remember you should ALWAYS water enough to have roughly 20% water run out the bottom. This will help rinse out the old salts left behind and avoids any nutrient build ups in your media. This is a common issue around week 5-7 because growers are not getting enough run off after every water. I think your plant will sort it out and bounce back. Good frost production so far as well! Hope this helps.

I think I made a big mistake in this very first grow, so here is the question: Should I always water enough to produce some drain? Even when using organic fertilizer? Until now I did not have a single drain in the whole grow as I water ~10-15% of the pot volume.

I grow all organic in a living soil bed. No drain, never. When I used fabric pots I tried to avoid drain in General. Keep it moist. Just make sure to have a good amount of material for airation such as pumice, vermiculite or perlite in your soil.

Day 50, 29.05.2024 - Starting the week at 43cm height - No action today but to render timelapse for last week & watch them bloom. Day 51, 30.05.2024 - 600ml with nutrition (1ml grow, 3ml bloom, 4ml TopMax) for each as breakfast shortly after the lights turned on - removed 4 more leaves there were yellow. I think it has to do with the recent cut down on nutritions. This is why I will get back to the recommended fertilizer schedule in 48h with the next feeding. Day 52, 31.05.2024 No action today. Day 53, 01.06.2024 A round of drinks (600ml each) and food (4/4/4ml of grow, bloom & TopMax). Day 54, 01.06.2024 No action today. Day 55, 03.06.2024 - I am observing some more leafs getting yellow. I guess the plant is recovering N from the lower leaves to feed the buds. - Later today they will get their next feeding (600ml each, - again with 4/4/4ml of Grow, Bloom & TopMax) Day 56, 04.06.2024 "No action today" concludes week 8. All in all until today the grow is quite easy. No big issues. I just hope the yellowing of leafs will stop / revert after resuming to the standard nutrition schedule. So, I guess there are 3 weeks to go before harvest - let's keep em dry!

Day 57, 05.06.2024 - Starting the next week of flowering which brings me up to 3 weeks until harvest - There will be watering & nutrition today. I expect the plants getting more and more yellow as they approach their lives end Day 58, 06.06.2024 Today I learned: Double-check for open vents of your tent should be mandatory! "Well, isn't that obvious?" you might ask and yes - I guess it is. But not to me :) Background: I was struggling with a) getting the humidity down and b) keeping the smell in. Turned out I forgot to close the vent behind the charcoal filter which lead to venting air from the outside to the inside & of course sucking smelly air out of the tent. However, since this issue was fixed, there is no problem with smell or humidity anymore. Others than this there was no action today. Day 59, 07.06.2024 - removed 2 yellow leafs - Another round of drinks for the girls (600ml with 4/4/4ml) - sit back and relax Day 60, 08.06.2024 No action today, but the BioBizz CalMag arrived. I will give it tomorrow to them. Day 61, 09.06.2024 A round of drinks with nutrition (4/4/4ml Grow, Bloom and TopMax) and also (first time ever) 1,2ml.of CalMag. Leafs showed signs of certain deficiencies so I decided to use it. Let's see how this turns out! Day 62, 10.06.2024 No action today. Day 63, 11.06.2024 Water & Nutrition (4/4/4ml Grow, Bloom and TopMax) for the end of the week. I am looking forward to week number 10 which should be the second to last week of this grow - I am quite excited!

Day 64, 12.06.2024 Today marks the start of week 10. I just saw that some of the leafs of Erika I are clawing upwards. I double checked the light distance to the canope which seems to be fine at around 30cm. I watered yesterday. As over watering might be the culprit as well I will watch closely wether it gets better during the next 24h. However, as we are approaching the finishing line I will not put too much effort in this issue. Day 65, 13.06.2024 Another round of drinks is about to be served. As Erika I is tacoing (edges of the leafs are facing towards the light) I went into analysis: It could be a) lights: after checking the distance again I an rule that out. Also the other plant does not show any clawing symptoms. b) underwatering: I gave 500ml extra water yesterday in the morning in hopes of recovery by afternoon. But no sign of relaxation so I ruled out that as well. c) overwatering: hard to believe as I only water 15% of the pot volume every other day and there is no drain d) over fertilization: Thats a point - I gave both plants the exact same amount of nutrition during grow. I think this plant might have had enough for a while. Because of d) I decided to not give Erika I any fertilizers today (she also did not show signs of low nutrition in the past). However, I will water both and keep an eye on them. No reason for panic though I guess. Also: Being on the final lap towards harvest I recognized quite a lot of the pistils are getting orange. I would say currently over all buds around 50-60% of the pistils are orange. I will wait until ~90% of them are orange and then take a look at the trichomes, where I aim for 80/20 ratio (cloudy to amber). Day 66, 14.06.2024 No action today. Day 67, 15.06.2024 Today I will water and feed again - providing 4/4/4 Grow/Bloom/TopMax + 1,2ml CalMag to Erika II. For Erika I I am still waiting for the leafs to un-taco - but until now there is no sign of it. This is the last official week with nutrients anyway so maybe Erika I already had her last meal, but without realizing 😂 Tacoing did not went away. Didn't really change at all actually. So they both get water & nutes. Next time I might skip nutes on Erika I. Amount of water: ~600ml each Day 68, 16.06.2024 No action on the plants today. Revised my timing and plans: - BioBizz nutrient schedule is made for roughly 10 weeks of flowering with flushing instructions on the second to last week and harvest on the last week - assuming the Erikas started flowering in their 3rd week that leaves me with facing the 8th flowering week up (which is also the last week they should get nutrition) right ahead - Decision: will give them 3 times nutrients over the next 1 week. Then I will stop giving them nutrients and start flushing every other day (water then until water comes out below the pots). - I assume/hope I will flush for at least one week until it is time for harvest This period of the grow is unexpectedly exciting! I do not have any experience from other grows but until now I think it went quite good. There were no pests, no big time nutrient deficiencies, etc. and the buds look big and firm (at least from what I can tell anyway). Day 69, 17.06.2024 - A round of drinks to the ladies: The usual 4/4/4 Grow/Bloom/TopMax in 600ml of water each. Will NOT skip nutes on Erika I. - Humidity is starting to pose a problem again: During night time the humidity does not go below 68% for 6 hours. I surely hope this is not a problem - but I do not have any other choice: there is high humidity currently outside (lots of rain & warm weather). I will hope for the best I guess. - removed 3 more leafs Day 70, 18.06.2024 No action today but to experience high humidity (~69%) without being able to do something about that 😢 This concludes week 10. The breeder states this strain is ready for harvest after 11 weeks. Well.. I guess I am about to find out.

Day 71, 19.06.2024 As the new and possibly last week of blooming arrives I am looking at two ladies, that behaved quite well during the last weeks. They grew close and it will be a shame to cut them down in the end. However, what must be done, must be done right? Today there will be the second to last nutrition intake for them. I decided to cut the BioBizz Grow and CalMag completely so they will receive 600ml of 4/4ml (Bloom/TopMax) later today. Also today I saw the first amber trichomes through my pocket microscope. But not enough yet - maybe I will stop feeding nutes after todays "last supper" and start flushing... Day 72, 20.06.2024 No action today. Day 73, 21.06.2024 600ml of water each - no nutes. I think it might be the big finale. I am thinking about harvest next and watching a lot of YouTube about that topic 😂 Day 74, 22.06.2024 No action on the plants but to give them a check up. I finally see the first amber trichomes on both of the plants, woohoo 🙌 Removed 3-5 fan leafs that were starting to get yellow. Time to make up a plan for the harvest I guess! Currently the plan is - to do harvest in 4 days from today in the evening (Wednesday, 26.06. ~1700). - I stop watering immediately - no more soup for you! Maybe I did not do flushing long enough, but my hope is that using organic fertilizer eases the effects - I will not switch off the lights on Monday at 1100 (like usual). Instead I will keep it on until 1700 - then switch them off completely. - 48h later on Wednesday I will harvest I do all this to inflict stress to the ladies. Stress by low water, stress by longer light followed by stress due to no light at all. All this will hopefully lead the plants to 1. produce more trichomes as a defensive reaction and build up bud mass 2. urges the plant to process as much chlorophyll as possible which leads to better taste in the end So much for the plan. Let's see how this turns out. Day 75, 23.06.2024 The good thing about not watering anymore: No action today. But as today would mark the "point of no return" in a way I will double or even triple check for the trichomes. If they are ready, I will commence the plan of not watering and longer lighting tomorrow. If there is doubt I will shift the plan day by day. Aaand here it is: Doubt! After checking the trichomes again I found too much of them clear. I decided to not rush things and thus postpone the harvest for at least 3 days. So today there will be a (late) flush and we will take it from there. Day 76, 24.06.2024 No real action today but to check in trichomes. Erika II has a good number of amber trichomes while Erika I still has too mich clear ones. It's a dilemma. But I will hold on to the plan for now which says: Harvest will be on the weekend (friday presumably)! Day 77, 25.06.2024 Today we reached 30°C outside and it is (finally) getting summer here in germany. This resulted in 28°C inside the tent & it felt good to give the ladies some craved water: ~1000ml went in the pots before the drain started. This was definetly the last drink. Tomorrow the last light cycle will start. Today is tuesday. The plan for harvest is as follows: Wednesday: No action. Thursday: Lights out at 1100. They stay off until the end. Friday: Harvest will begin at around 16:30 after work. Both plants will be harvested & hung up for drying. I am thinking about doing one plant using wet-tim and one plant using dry-trim techniques, just to have the comparison right after the first grow. I guess I need to make up my mind about that...

Day 76, 26.06.02024 Final check on trichomes: They are cloudy on both plants. Erika II has a good amount of amber trichomes, Erika I has only some of them. However, I will stick to the plan: Harvest in T minus 2. Day 77, 27.06.02024 A journey is close to its end. The ladies did good, I am proud of them & excited about what lies ahead. At 1100 today the lights will turn off, followed by ~30h of darkness. After that I will do the harvest. Wish me luck.

Monday, 8th of July 2024: Here it comes: The "big" after harvest report. By now drying is done, weighing is done and the buds are in curing since yesterday. But lets not get ahead of ourselves - lets start with... HARVEST I harvested both plants on their 80s day on this beautiful planet. It was quite a warm day and I remember I sweat a lot. I decided to do both, a wet trim on the one plant and on the other plant I wanted to try a dry trim. Wet Trim on Erika I: I started with her and decided not to cut the whole plant at the main stem. Instead I cut branch by branch and performed a more or less detailed wet trim (although I found leftover leafs right after drying). I hooked up the branches upside down on the still in place SCROG net. That worked and filled approximately half the tent (I used BLACK laundry clips for Erika I) Dry Trim on Erika II: After the sweat job on Erika I I was more than pleased with the decision to perform a dry trim on Erika II in a couple of days. So I cut again the branches, but omitted the fine trimming of any leaf that did not identify as a bigger fan leaf. I hooked the branches up to the SCROG net using GREEN laundry clips (and sometimes I just used the branch forks for hanging). I removed the lamp from the tent, closed it and activated the vent (including charcoal filter). Also I placed the small 9W clip Fan on the floor of the tent facing into the direction of the tent wall producing a slight circulating air stream inside the tent without facing the buds directly. And then I waitet. After Day 5 I regulary made the "branch break" test, but it took 9 days until I proceeded to the next step. DRY TRIM After 9 days I finally decided to get the harvest out of the tent and into their curing containers. So I started with dry trimming Erika II. From the looks of it Erika II had much more firm buds. Of course dry trimming took its time, but it was much less of an effort as I feared. So, all in all quite beginner friendly approach to do half and half: Dry- and Wet Trim for one harvest. I could not wait for the result after trimming or the question "What is my yield? Did I do okay with the first grow?". I sure was in for something I did not expect in that regard... WEIGHING HARVEST And boy, I was surprised. Keep the following in mind: 1. This was is my very first grow. 2. I only had a 40x40x160cm tent using a 50W Sanlight Q1W dim 3. Did no fancy stuff regarding fertilizer and pretty much sticked to the scheduler provided by BioBizz Erika I had a dry weight of 38g. Erika II had a dry weight of 46g. This adds up to 84g of dry weight - from a 50W LED. 84g! Holy cow. For the first grow. I find this pretty amazing and to be honest: A little bit unrealistic (given the above parameters) so I doublechecked my scale twice. It works fine. Still hard to believe, so I guess I maybe did not trim that thoroughly maybe. But as I am not experienced on "how a consumable product should look like" and the word on the internet is more or less "it depends" I guess I will have to find out for myself. Check the pictures for yourself - maybe I really did a sloppy job on that. Please do not hesitate to comment in that case! PUTTING INTO CONTAINERS As I did not anticipate that much of a yield (I was calculating with maybe 40g, maybe less) I needed to use all the containers I had bought. Originally I thought to use one Mason jar (with IntegraTM Boost Integra Boost 62) and 1-2 Grove Bags (15g). I ended up using both mason jars I bought for that and all 4 Grovebags (15g each) to put it all away (for some reason I labeled harvest of Erika I with "Stress Killer 2" and vice versa 😂 - dont get fooled when looking at the pictures!) As in germany I can just keep 50g of the harvest by law I picked the most beautiful buds (mainly of Erika II) and destroyed the remaining 34g. It hurts, but I like to stay legal on this one. CURING The whole harvest will now cure for at least 14 days. A full Smoke- (or better: Vape-) Report will follow. Stay tuned!
