Of the two seeds, only one made it out of the ground 😢. The second one was too deep in the ground and when I got impatient and wanted to help I damaged the seedling 🙈
Unfortunately my grow box and lighting have still not been delivered. I have now bought a small plant lamp (full spectrum). Since the 6th day after germination the light is 18 hours a day on.
The initial lack of light probably caused she is too weak. Since today I have to support her with a Stick. I hope she recovers and stabilizes.
Today is Day 14 after germination and she is so cute, my little Runtz, isn't she?.
Growing well and I think she feels good.
Unfortunaly is my growbox not delivered, so I use two small plant lamp and hope the box is delivered before she starts to smell.
Another week has passed. We were on vacation but a neighbour lovingly took care of her. She's fine and I am so happy to see her.
She is now getting significantly more thirsty, I think I will have to water more in the next Days.
Runtzi starts the fourth week after germination. The smell is already intense, for this reason she moved into our guest bathroom, there the exhaust air is guaranteed and in the rest of the apartment you do not smell anything. I have the feeling that the two lamps are also sufficient, because she looks healthy, doesn't it?
On day 26 I discovered the first flowers.
The fifth week after germination starts, She starts flowering, I'm so happy 😊
Everything seems to be ok.
Since she has grown very much and I didn't get a grow box that reflects the light, I added a third lamp.
Day 33, she has become very thirsty now. It should be over 1 liter of nutrient solution per day
HELP!!!
In the last few days, I have noticed an acute nutrient deficiency in the leaves. I have tested the PH value of the solutions and it is clearly too high. I can lower it with vinegar, but does it have any disadvantages?
Vinegar works OK as a temporary solution but I dunno if I'd use it long term for pH control. Vinegar is harmful to beneficial microbes. Vinegar isn't buffered so as it breaks down you could experience pH swings at the soil level. It's also a relatively weak acid, depending on concentration you may need to use substantially more than you would a real pH down product.
Unfortunately, the PH value of the solutions has been too high in the last 10 days. The leaves turn yellow, obviously a Lack of nutrition.
For First Aid I use vinegar to lower the PH value.
I ordered a PH lower based on citric acid.
Due to the too high PH value of the last week, she has now lost many leaves but the flowers do not seem to have been damaged, They are getting thicker and thicker.
Now I use PH lower based on citric acid.
The smell has also become more intense again.
10 days left until the harvest specified by the breeder. One Week befor I give her no nutrition.
Should I rinse the plant pot? If so, when and is there something to consider?
Just stop all nutrients/fertilizers/supplements for the last 10-14 days before harvest and give only plain water in normal amounts and at normal intervals and let the plant "flush" itself naturally.
This is all that is needed.
There is no need to "flush" the pots with gallons of water, this does nothing.........except cause over saturated flowers that then can become prone to mould when drying.
Over the last forty years I have tried many, many "techniques" for pre-harvest treatments , including "rinsing the pot", not stopping fertilizers and all sorts of products put out by the various fertilizers companies.
Pot rinsing just causes hyper plumped up with water buds that then are hard to dry.
No treatment at all and fertilizers right to the end...this causes funny/awful taste and poor combustion.
Multitude of commercial products designed to clean your buds.........all are a waste of money.
Stopping fertilizers and giving only plain water for the last 10-14 days........this produces the best results when it comes to consumption and the drying process.
Also, in my opinion, dry trimming is better than wet trimming........the flowers dry better with the leaves left on.
I learned two things.
1. Controlling the PH value is very important.
2. Sciarid must be combatted.
She has not grown since the onset of nutrient deficiency, the smell has also become less.
Day 69.
After 65 - 70 days the plant should be ready for harvest. At the moment, the trichomes are still clear and there is not much resin.
Next week I'm going on vacation for two weeks.
The plant has less leaves and show no growth. Can I wait with harvest until after vacation?
She is pretty well at the end of her life.........in 3 weeks she will be almost dead.
Harvest the day before you leave and dry the plant somewhere with a mild environment while you are away.
The plant was already dead at the time of harvest. On the second attempt, I will do a lot differently.
1. Better control of soil moisture with an appropriate measuring device.
2. Less and only natural fertiliser.
3. Regularly measure the PH value
