My First round - Quick One Indoor Grow

mola85rl Week 1: 09.04.2024 - 15.04.2024: The plants are stretching their heads out of the soil. I intentionally hung the lamp a bit lower so that the plants don't start to stretch. The plants look healthy and seem to be making small growth progress day by day. I set the fan to blow on the plants for 15 minutes every 2 hours. This lightly damages the fibers of the stems. Through the subsequent self-healing process, the stem becomes denser and stronger – at least that's the theory I've read, but it sounds plausible. *** Small update for 13.04.2024 and 14.04.2024: *** I made some minor adjustments. Now that each plant has formed a new pair of leaves, I changed the lighting time from 24/0 to 20/4. Since my grow tent is in an insulated dry basement room without radiators, I also changed the active exhaust times during the "night time." The ambient temperature outside the tent is always around 15-16°C. When the exhaust is on ("AKF"), a negative pressure is created, allowing the cooler outside air to flow into the tent. However, since the lamp is off during the "night time," the associated heat source that quickly warms the cooler air is also gone. As a result, the temperature in the tent dropped from 26°C to 14.9°C during the night. Therefore, now during the night, the exhaust is only automated to turn on halfway, i.e., after 2 hours of darkness for 15 minutes. I hope that this will keep the warm air in the tent a bit longer and prevent the temperature from dropping so rapidly. Today's night test run was also promising, as the temperature only dropped to 18.5°C (min) (Note: I have the lights off from 12:00 to 16:00 because it's not as cool in the basement during midday). With the autoflowers, this might be manageable. I wonder how I can solve this problem with photoperiod plants. They famously have 12 hours of darkness during flowering. Turning off the AKF for 6 hours probably isn’t a good idea. *** 15.05.2024: Last day of the first week *** In the first week of growth, the plants have reached a height of 5.5cm. The span of the first two leaves is about 10cm. They are not being watered yet. Instead, the soil within a radius of about 5-8cm is sprayed daily to keep it moist.

mola85rl Week 2: 04/16/2024 - 04/22/2024: 04/16/2024: Today marks the start of the second week. The plants have had another noticeable growth spurt and look vibrant and healthy. I completely moistened all the pots for the first time today. I watered each pot with about 0.5L of water evenly. The soil is moist but not soggy. There's not much more to say about the growth at this point. I also ordered a SCROG net today. I intend to subject the plants to LST and weave the branches into the SCROG net. 04/18/2024: The plants have made a solid leap again and are slowly developing small side branches. I also think a minimal smell is noticeable. I didn't water today. I just sprayed the surface around the main stems with a bit of water. However, the soil is still a bit moist, so the small roots aren't sitting in dry soil. 04/21/2024: Slowly but surely, the plants are approaching week 3. You can see them growing and becoming bushier. So far, there have been no significant issues. I’m satisfied. 04/22/2024: The last day of the 2nd week of vegetation is passing by. The plants look good and are thriving. Today, each plant received about 0.4-0.5L of water. Tomorrow, week 3 begins. The pre-flowering should start soon.

mola85rl Week 3: 04/23/2024 - 04/29/2024 04/23/2024: Today marks the beginning of week 3 of growth. The 3rd plant seems to have a leaf mutation because the leaf is four-leafed. I'm keeping an eye on the plant. I hope it doesn't turn hermaphrodite. The plants received 2 liters of water today (about 0.6L per plant). I also removed the wooden tags because there is a risk of mold. The tags are made of wood and were stuck in the damp soil. 04/25/2024: The plants are getting bushier and are happily growing. I had to turn the exhaust fan up half a notch today because there was a slight grassy smell in the grow room when I opened the door. I'm not sure yet if I will repot the plants into larger pots. I've parked all 3 plants in 4-liter pots. They will probably stay there since pre-flowering should start soon, and then the plants will begin to unfold. Stress would likely be counterproductive. 04/26/2024: The plants received another dose of water today. Plant #1 showed its sex today and is now in pre-flowering. I think the other two plants should be ready in a few days as well. I also removed the cotyledons. 04/29/2024: Today is the last day of week 3 of growth. The plants received 2 liters of water today. Each plant got about 0.6 L. Plant #1 showed signs of being a hermaphrodite. I assume that in the picture "Day 21 - Plant #1 - Hermaphrodite," small pollen sacs can be seen. I removed those parts today just to be safe. The plant is now under close observation.

mola85rl Week 4: 30.04.2024 - 06.05.2024 30.04.2024: Today marks the start of the 4th and final week of growth. The plants are slowly but surely entering the flowering stage. Since it’s getting very bushy and the side branches are being covered by large leaves, maybe a first defoliation would be a good idea? 01.05.2024: The plants got watered again today and were defoliated. Several side branches have formed that were previously hidden. There were also typical "hairs" visible on the branches, as flowering is slowly beginning. I quickly grabbed a scalpel and removed the oversized bushy leaves so that the side branches are as exposed as possible and can receive light. Additionally, I tied the branches down with metal hooks. I hope the plants won’t be too stressed by this. 02.05.2024: Unfortunately, during LST, plant #2 got injured. The stem is slightly broken. 03.05.2024: Today, it was time to water again. The plants were drooping. I defoliated them all once more. 04.05.2024: Plant #1 was drooping. I then gave it a bath, meaning I placed it in a bucket of water. A few hours later, the plant perked right up. I think the watered water didn’t reach the lower root tips. 05.05.2024: The plants handled the defoliation well and are entering the flowering stage. 06.05.2024: Last "official vegetation day." Tomorrow starts week 5 and also the flowering phase. The plants seem to have handled all the stressors, such as defoliation, accidental stem breakage, and LST, quite well. Interim conclusion: The Quick-One seems to be very resilient indeed. It also forgives typical beginner mistakes :-) I’m looking forward to the hot phase!

mola85rl 07.05.2024 - 13.05.2024 (1st Week of Flowering) 07.05.2024: Today marks the start of the first week of flowering. I removed 3 large leaves because they were covering the blooming side branches. 13.05.2024: There's nothing new to report. The plants are just blooming away. They were watered again today. The third plant was pruned because the leaves were covering many of the flowers underneath. Since the leaves are turning increasingly yellow, I'm slowly but surely considering fertilizing.

mola85rl Flowering Week 2 (May 14, 2024 - May 20, 2024) The 2nd week of flowering has begun. The leaves of the plants are getting lighter and more yellow. I might need to start using some nutrients soon. May 19, 2024: I had to give the plants a bath today because the soil dried out. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture on day 38.

mola85rl Flowering Week 3 (May 21, 2024 - May 27, 2024) The 3rd week of flowering has begun. The leaves of the plants are probably showing signs of deficiency. Today, I first fertilized with the "Compo Grow Bloom Fertilizer." I hope the plants will get nutrients this way. May 23, 2024: I watered again today with 1 liter of water mixed with fertilizer.

mola85rl Flowering Week 4 (May 28, 2024 - June 3, 2024) Today marks the start of week 4 of flowering. I'm satisfied. The nutrients have helped the plants look more vigorous again. May 30, 2024: There's not much to report. I fertilize every 3 days. The trichomes are slowly turning milky. I think in about 2 weeks the plant should be ready for harvest. 😎! June 2, 2024: I did another small defoliation today.

mola85rl Flowering Week 5 (06/04/2024 - 06/10/2024) Today marks the beginning of Flowering Week 5. The buds are getting denser and larger. I'm going to taper off the feeding now to hopefully start the harvest in 8-10 days. 06/05/2024: The plants received 2 liters of room temperature water without nutrients today. Feeding has been stopped. The buds are getting thicker.

mola85rl Flowering Week 6 (June 11, 2024 - June 17, 2024) Today marks the 6th and likely last week of flowering. I plan to harvest after June 17, 2024. The plants are very thirsty right now. I water them exactly two liters every 2 days. Other than that, everything is going pretty well. There's nothing special to report. The buds are getting thicker and stickier. The smell is also increasing. 👍 June 17, 2024: Today is the last day the plants will be alive. I will harvest tomorrow (June 18, 2024). The trichomes are milky and some are turning amber. The timing for the harvest also matches the manufacturer's recommendation (9-10 weeks).

mola85rl 18.06.2024: Early Harvest Today I topped the plants and did a bit of manicuring. A sticky situation. I hung the plants in the grow tent to dry. The fan is running, and so is the carbon filter. However, I have a humidity level of 75% in the tent. The temperature is a meager 17°C. Today I will buy dehumidifier bags and spread them in the tent. It would be annoying if mold spreads.
