Here we go again with a RQS Royal Gorilla Automatic. When I grew this in the past the quality of the buds was excellent!
The main difference this time is that I'm growing for fun vs necessity, now I get my cannabis supplied legally by a doctor there's no pressure to get this perfect any more. I can relax and enjoy it 😁
Second week of veg - the roots are just about to reach the reservoir so things should pick up quickly from here.
I'm already a little behind in taking care of her but these Royal Gorilla seeds are so reliable I'm sure she'll be fine without me 😁
Finally, I sprayed with Shogun Geisha Foliar
Week 3, she's making good progress and starting to grow quickly.
This week I removed the top - something I've not tried with an auto before but think she'll be able to cope with it.
Another week and more training for the Gorilla. She responded well to topping, now I've started bending to create a better canopy.
It's quite warm here but she's handling the heat well.
This week I removed some more tops and did some more LST. I was always worried about doing this in the past but it seems Royal Gorilla can handle it like a true champ!
Another week flew by. growth was good, especially given the topping done last week.
I've now switched to flowering nutrients and little stretching is starting 👌
Little white hairs have appeared all over. Growth is vigorous and the smell is increasing a lot! I've been trying to trim as much as possible, I hope I've done enough to get some chonky buds 👍
Flowers are starting to appear on the gorilla now. The smell is getting stronger. Kind of citrus with a strong weed smell 😂 I remember loving the smell of the flowers last time I grew Royal Gorilla, hopefully they keep getting bigger and better 💪
Things are coming along nicely now. Trichomes are appearing all over the buds and sugar leaves.
The tent is starting to get a bit too humid, around 65% with flowers growing so I switched on the dehumidifier and set it to 50%. We should sit at around 55% with that setting.
So close to the end now. Just one more week of feeding plus some flush before the harvest 😁
Everything is starting to plump up nicely now. Hoping next week will be even better!
This will be the final feed before flush and harvest. The Royal Gorilla is looking great, as usual the buds are big, dense and sparkling. The smell is mostly citrus and reminds me of strains available when I was younger. Can't wait to sample this again 👌
So here it is, the final week before harvest. I've been tested by my equipment but managed to handle everything thrown at me. The dehumidifier breaking 2 weeks ago was definitely the scariest moment!
The size and smell of these is ludicrous, I reckon it'll be a bumper harvest!
As always, I love Royal Gorilla! The final few weeks of growth blew my mind. The buds are big, dense and sparkling all over. The smell is citrus and a little perfumey (according to my wife)! I've grown this before so know the smoke will be fantastic but if anything unusual happens in curing, I'll be back with another review!
Wow, this thing is huge! Very impressed with the final week of growth for the Gorilla, she looked massive! Some of the branches had collapsed from the weight of the buds.
I harvested, with 19 full branches of buds now hanging up to try, this should be a great harvest! I'll update values once I have an idea of dry weight 😀
