- seed was a freebee that came with order of three Arjan's Haze 3 seeds
- put into seedling seedling substrate (Compo) on Mar 29th 2024
- germination after 3 days
- lights dimmed at 40%
- seedling was potted into final container at the end of week 1
- soil: organic all purpose soil (Compo) and perlite
- plant started to grow very fast in week 2
- picture at day 9 after germination

- at the start of week 3, the leaves started to droop slightly
- signs of phosphorous deficiency start to show at lowest leaves
- bought more accurate pH tests and found that pH of water was still ~7.5 after adjustments (tap water here is rich in carbonates, pH 8)
- flushed plant with pH 6-6.5 water (adjusted with ~ 1.5 mM citric acid) that had half a dose of inorganic fertilizer NPK 11-14-17 to supply some phosphorous until runoff was pH 7
- plant already looked less droopy next day
- 2 days later it grows faster again and leaves are pointing up
- some small signs of nutrient burn showing 4 days later, watered with pH 6.5 water, nutrient burn did not
- plant is growing at 80% light
- at the end of the 18h of light cycle, leaves are drooping but come up again in the morning after the dark period, this re-occured until I moved the light further up
- did not start feeding yet because of small nutrient burn in prior, burn did not progress after watering once
- plant grows fast and the first signs of pre-flower have started at the end of week 4
- with pre-flower, again signs of P-deficiency occured at lowest fan leaves
- started feeding with Biobizz (schedule reduced per the recommendations for auto-flowers from FastBuds) and added a pinch of inorganic fertilizer for immediate relief of deficiency
- plant grew 15 cm in this week, needed to move up the light daily to keep the distance and reduce stress
- lights dimmed at 80% (measured PPFD with photone, ~700 at the top of the plant)
- growth continues, no further signs of deficiency after feed last week
- watering 1L every 3rd day
- run-off pH ~6.5
- plant grew 20 cm in week 5
- increased lights mid week to 100% (1000 µmol/m2/s) at top
- flowering sites start growing
- smell has not much increased yet
- fan leaves show P-deficiency again mid week, increased bloom nutes to 1.2 ml/L on last watering and added a small amount of inorganic fertilizer
- pre-flower strech seems to have finished
- increased the amount of bloom nutrients from the recommendations of Fastbuds for autos (0.75 to 1.25 mL/L) because the plant had P-deficiency last week
- lowered the pH of water from 6.5 to 6.0 in case this contributed to the defiency (run-off pH ~7)
- suspect that my hard water (440 ppm in Calcium and Magnesiumcarbonate) causes problems with the uptake of the other nutrients, like P
- started watering with tap water mixed with destilled water 1:1 to reduce nutrient issues due to too high Calcium in my water, then found out that the low Magnesium is an issue (other plant started showing Mg deficiency -- started 0.23 g/L adding epsom salt to the water to bring Ca/Ma ratio to 3:1
- removed one necrotic fan leaf
- lowest leaves start yellowing, therefore gave a little Grow Nutrient for more nitrogen
- smell is a little stronger, but still mild enough to keep the tent open
- sugar leaves of main cola start showing autumn colors
- now using the standard BioBizz scheme, since the reduced scheme for autos from FastBuds was repeatedly causing deficiencies
- leaf damage due to deficiencies still seems to happen to a lower degree on some leaves (maybe because organic nutrients take more time to be available)
- by the end of the week, more leaves had dried up - looks like a calcium deficiency, even though there is ample Ca in the water (95 mg/L)
- pH in runoff is stable between 6.5 and 7.0
- more leaves are dying
- not sure if trichomes are mostly clear or cloudy -- replies here say that they are partly cloudy
- plant has some green leaves left and also drinks the same amount as in previous weeks, therefore the grow continues
- by the end of the week, trichomes look mosty cloudy, but no amber yet
How do the trichomes look to you? I have a hard time telling if they are mostly clear or cloudy.
This plant has lost quite a bit of leaf material due to deficiencies in the last weeks, therefore I am not sure if I should harvest earlier instead of in 2 weeks.
