Week 7 Update: The Adventures of Schrödinger’s Plants Tropicana Cookies Our Tropicana Cookies has been the star of a nutrient drama this week. Picture this: our beloved plant is caught in a wrestling match with phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) lockout, with a sneaky salt build-up adding to the chaos. Early in the week, the tension was palpable as the lockout saga continued unabated. We watched, hoping for a sign, but the situation seemed to escalate. By midweek, we decided to intervene with a refreshing 5 liters of pH 6.2 water, hoping to calm things down. But Tropicana wasn’t ready to give up the drama just yet. In an effort to turn the tide, we introduced compost – our secret weapon. The next day, we brewed up a special compost tea, thinking a magical potion might do the trick. With 1 liter of this elixir mixed in 3 liters of water, we awaited the transformation. Determined, we provided another dose of hydration with 4 liters of pH 6.3 water. Then came the grand finale. A dramatic 45-liter flush with dechlorinated tap water, aiming to cleanse the roots and reset the stage. We brought down the salt build-up from a shocking EC of 6.8 to a more manageable 2.5. To cap it off, we offered a feast of nutrients – 20g each of 2-4-4 and 6-12-8 fertilizers, plus worm castings. Now, we wait to see if Tropicana Cookies will rise victorious. Gorilla Zkittles While Tropicana was embroiled in drama, Gorilla Zkittles maintained its zen. Imagine a peaceful sanctuary where the plants bask in tranquility. Starting the week with no extra care needed, Gorilla Zkittles simply enjoyed the good vibes. A midweek drink of 5 liters of pH 6.2 water kept the calm. We decided to sprinkle some compost into the mix, ensuring the soil was rich and lively. A luxurious spa day followed, featuring 1 liter of compost tea in 3 liters of pH 6.3 water. By the week's end, Gorilla Zkittles was still the epitome of health, thriving without any fuss. It’s the zen master of our grow tent, for sure. Apple Strudel Our Apple Strudel began the week with a hint of chlorosis but quickly showed signs of recovery. Chlorosis started to fade, and optimism grew. A nourishing drink of 5 liters of pH 6.2 water, enhanced with Alfa Boost and Top Max, provided the needed boost. Taking a day to rest, Apple Strudel focused on soaking up the goodness. Compost was introduced to enrich the soil, followed by another dose of our magical compost tea. The mix of 1 liter of tea in 3 liters of pH 6.3 water seemed to work wonders. By the week's end, Apple Strudel had bounced back beautifully, with vibrant green leaves replacing the earlier signs of distress. Conclusion This week in Schrödinger’s Plants was a rollercoaster of emotions and plant care. Tropicana Cookies faced intense nutrient lockout drama, but we threw everything at it – from compost to a heroic flush. Gorilla Zkittles, the zen master, remained calm and healthy throughout. And Apple Strudel, our comeback kid, shook off chlorosis and thrived. Stay tuned for next week’s episode of Schrödinger’s Plants – will Tropicana Cookies overcome the nutrient lockout? Will Gorilla Zkittles continue its serene journey? Will Apple Strudel become the greenest of them all? Find out soon!
