I added 3.6 ml of the General Hydroponics Flora Series Pro Performance Kit for Micro, Gro, and Bloom per gallon, as well as 4 ml of calmag in total. The PH has generally increased a little each day, so I've had to add PH down every day so far. But setup looks to be holding strong, and I'm hoping the roots start to become visible under the lid soon!
Day 10: Discovered roots poking through for the first time. Very excited about that. They're all just straight roots currently, with no arms reaching out from them. Hopefully by tomorrow they'll be sitting in the water.
Day 11: There is a fairly noticeable difference in the size of the leaves, but it doesn't seem particularly healthy. My gut is saying PH. Almost every time I've ever checked the PH it was running high, so I decided to invest in an automatic PH doser and reader. I think the variability of the PH is just too much.
The roots are looking good. All five strands that protruded yesterday are now in the water. Still no root hairs, but it looks almost like there are little buds on the roots waiting to produce them. Hopefully, if I can keep the PH right until Wednesday when the auto-doser arrives, we'll be much more established than we currently are.
I think the plant is growing 'just fine' in terms of leaf activity, but need to keep things 100% to ensure nothing dramatic happens so early that stunts it somehow. At least I can do one thing right in keeping it dark 100% during its sleep period lol. But with tomorrow comes a new day.
I'm open to other diagnoses suggestions if anyone has any.
Day 12: I'm convinced there is PH lockout that is causing the spots on the plant. Auto doser gets here tomorrow night.
Day 13: Installed the PH doser and saw instant results. Now it's calibrated to sit at 6ph only. It took all of two hours for the girl to totally chipper up and start praying to the sun gods. Ladies and gentleman, I'm going to declare that Lucky Day 13 is the turning point for this plant. Amen.
Day 14: PH is steady. Added nutrients. PPM now 250 after it was gulped down to 135 or so.
Topped and started training into a quad-line. All is well.
Did another reservoir change and reduced the ppm a little because I had a little bit of nute burn on the tips.
