Thanks Beef... Apologies when I refered to them as fungus gnats I actually meant fungus gnat larvae!! UPDATE...All of my poor plants haveboth fungus gnat larvae and springtails in the soil. This is as per uaual.... all my bloody fault as I didnt take any serious preventative measures against this and wass careless with the idea of leaving the door open to enhance ventilation... So the chances were good as Im growing in organic soil and its getting cold outside now, all the beasties want to live in my pots rather than die off.... Little Buggers!!Anyway, I have managed to seriously reduce numbers of springtails by flushing as they float to the top of water and you can tip them out! Straight into some soapy water...However the fungus gnat larvae are loving the wet soil (literally cant win) So after flushing out springtales I have applies neem oil to 1 litre of water and 5ml liquid soap and soil drenched the 2 that are not in late flower. The others it is too late, I will just dispose of the soil asap after harvest and start fresh after disinfecting grow room and equipment. For now though, I plan to let the pots now dry out completely and reassess.the situation...Only 2 actual flying insects found & killed so far.

Should have said 8ml neem oil to 1 litre water and 5ml liquid soap, shake up well . Drench soil. I will repeat 3 days later. Will update this grow with the results. Wish me luck!!Also fan and filter kit now installed to help prevent repeat occurrences!! I will apply neem oil every 2 weeks moving forward as well as clay pebbles on top of soil to deter the little flying fuckers laying nasty eggs on my girls premium soil! lol.... smoke time....DISCLAIMER- I love animals, Plants and creatutes great and small... but almost microscopic jumping and chewing pests give me the heebie jeebies!!

Fungus gnats are like small black flys, they will land on wet soil and lay eggs in it. They are particularly attracted to organic material (read soil with lots of healthy stuff in it). There larva will eat your roots, but this is easy to fix. Neam oil and cover your top of soil with something, can use DE, hydroton pebbles, sand, etc. Even can make something with cardboard and seal it up. Idea is to just keep the gnat from landing on top of soil. Here is a video on how to end the fungus gnat, it talks about the barrier I suggested: https://youtu.be/3C70WFwAjIQ As for springtails, here is a link to a guy growing cannabis with spring tails, he says they aren't harmful, either way you can see them in the video: https://youtu.be/d27pDiqSL9Q The point he makes is you need to let plants dry out in between feedings and the spring tails will die off. Here is a closer look at the springtail: https://youtu.be/OwOL-MHcQ1w

I use happy frog soil and it's full of good stuff. I have only added nutrients on two feeds and that was too much, lol. Looking great so far!

Can you post a picture of them? Have you inspected the underside of leaves? Are the bugs in runoff or on topsoil? Can you describe them? You should use a grow question for this, You'll get some good feedback from it.
