It actually 2 days from the end of the 9th week. Thee are fatter, but not going to be super big because we've been in a heat wave. I also found out the potting soil my wife bought has super small lettering saying it has slow release fertilizer and micros. That potting soil was a small portion of the growing medium, but the extra nitrogen was not good overall. Heck, it's my first time and there was a heat wave just after starting. The 2 plants must be different phenotypes cause they look quite different!

On the right plant in diary pic it shows slight upward cupping on the edges of a few leaves. There are a couple of others on the other side. But 95% of the leaves are fine. During my first try at LST I broke the main stem by 70%. I think this caused the cupping?

I looked at you diary. Your plants look perfectly fine and normal. If you want, you can give your plant a bit more space and the fan leaves will perk out more. Sometimes if you bunch plants up without a scrog net or enough space, the leaves that don't get much sunlight will have issues, but you're talking about maybe 1-3 fan leaves on the entire plant. Regardless things will be fine.

I am concerned that the buds are still small and may come out as popcorn buds. BUT, this is my first grow. Just added week 6 to grow diary with pics. Just FYI, there is some leaf downturn in this photo. It was taken right after feeding and I always get that for an hour or so.

BIt to early to tell if they will be popcorn nugs, need to give them time to grow. To avoid smaller larfy buds you can strip the lower buds that are not in the canopy something known as lollipopping. Or add in side lighting to help them get the energy they need. It looks like the leaves are also curling up at the serated edge and I tend to see this with heat stress on the plants, the tent is at 31c and 70%RH in your diary and its the upper limit of temps and over limit on RH for budding plants IMO. If you can try and lower the temps to around 24-28c and the RH down to 40-50% you should find they will droop less. Keeping up good airflow is key. I'd say the PH maybe a touch to high as well but the plants look to be doing good with it. So I don't think you need to worry about that. Look up something called VPD. its a chart that helps you find some sweet spots in terms of temps/RH I think this could be a good tool for you. as well as a EC/PPM pen to determine the strength of your feeds. Best to dilute it down to the desired EC/PPM but keep the same mixing ratios. Good Luck!

2 plants from the same seed type purchased together. They look really different. I thought the one with the swollen calyxes was hermed, but research said otherwise. But one has trichomes and decent smell while the other has faint smell and no trichomes to speak of. Thoughts?

This is a classic case of different phenotypes. Same seed from the same plant but will grow and show different traits. Think of it as two sister, from the same mom and dad. Similar, but not the same. To get very similar results and even out the genetics in plants, it takes many generations of breeding to stabilize the strain. Until that happens you can get different results out of the seeds. I hope this helps.

This secondary lower buds seem to be maturing faster than the main colas. The pistils are turning dark faster on the lower than the upper. Not by much, but it's noticeable. Maybe a week or so? BUT, should I take the secondary buds first and leave the main colas to mature more?

It is not uncommon for secondary lower buds to mature faster than the main colas. This can be due to several factors including light distribution, airflow, and the plant's natural growth patterns. Yes, you can harvest the secondary lower buds first and leave the main colas to mature further. This is known as a staggered harvest and is a common practice among growers. It allows you to ensure that all buds reach their peak potency and flavor. Carefully cut the lower buds that are ready for harvest. Use sharp, sterilized scissors to avoid damaging the plant. Make clean cuts to prevent stress to the remaining parts of the plant. After harvesting the lower buds, continue to provide optimal conditions for the main colas. This includes maintaining proper light, humidity, and nutrient levels.

1 plant has yellowing leaves only at top of a few main colas. Other plant fine. Lower buds on both plants are fine. Light is at 62000 LUX (it's all I have), max is 75000. Forgot to press oscillate on fan after watering. 2 days gone, affected plant got no fan. Nutes same 4 both.

Its not only light burn , from too intense lights? Its nute burn too on first one. Second plant goes foxtaily too. Reduce temps and raise light, or at least reduce intensity of light.

I only have access to LUX meter at this point! Will sort that for next grow.

@floridaboy, just download another app for the PPFD. Should find one easy in every country. PPFD to DLI convertion is very easy. Just the Lux to PPFD is weird because your wavelength is a special growth wavelength not given as an option to convertion. But PPFD to DLI always works. DLI is the better way. Just grab a shedule for DLI and convert your ppfd. Measure PPFD at different points in your tent and make an average. And dont forget about the power of fans :)

Thank you! I was thinking along the same line. I'm still learning so mistakes are expected. Before I was getting minimal runoff as I tried to figure out the right amount of water/nutes in general. I was really trying not to overwater. This time feeding I went to 5L per plant and got better runoff, but not 20% I think. I water every 3 days on average. They have drooped when watering, even if I use no nutes, since the plants got past 2 weeks. But since they are back up in 1 hour, I did not worry about it. My medium is not completely coco, there are some organic nutes in the soil for sure. I have used way less of the base nutes since the beginning because they are autos. Like right now the guide for Advanced Nutrients says 4ml per liter, but I just went up to 1.5ml. I'm gonna research using no base nutes but keeping the big bud nutes since there is no nitrogen. Thanks again.
