SnowmanZeroZero 12.05.2024 well the start was rather disapointing. only 1 of 3 seeds germinated. one didn't sprout at all and for the other one the tap root didn't make it out of the shell and the seedling turned yellow in the earth. I have planted 2 new seeds. they should still get to harvest even if i'm late now. the one that made it is growing since 10.05. ----------------------------- Hello everyone, Finally, after 23 years of waiting, I can legally grow weed on my balcony (south side). What a fucking relief, the German summer of cannabis is here. I always wanted to have plants outside for convenience. Both strains are automatic and if everything goes as planned they will be ready to havest by august. Happy growing, Jan

SnowmanZeroZero Hello everyone, the afghan pearl has moved to her final pot and home near the mosel river at a friends house. there it will be always warm and comfy and the plant can grow for a long time before harvesting. we planted her in a big old concret pot. as fertilizier I chose biotabs so my friend does not have to deal with anything expect watering. We used four tablets as its a giant pot. I put them all next to the roots of the plant, i hope that was the right way to use them. for the sticky orange: its growing really well. it made so much progress that in the coming week it will move to its final pot on my balcony. what I also noticed is that the sticky orange does not smell strong, only a light sent, where the afghan pearl has a strong smell happy growing

SnowmanZeroZero the sticky orange has moved to its final 20 liter airpot on my balcony as the weather has become much better. for the soil i used plagron allmix, which i really like. the consistency is on point and it has nutritions for up to 6 weeks. the plant only showed a little stress on the first day but now looks strong and healthy. the afghan pearl at my friend house is also growing good. it is rich in color and shows no signs of any stress/deficiency. its bending alot to the sun however due to its location of the pot, which we have to address at some point. all in all the plants are growing well and i hope it stays this way in the weeks to come. if i'm lucky the rainy days are over for the time being and we can enjoy growth and soccer outdoors. :)

SnowmanZeroZero not much going on at the moment. sticky orange is doing great in the new pot, but it was cloudy all week long. i'm curious when flowering will begin, should be any week now, or not? this time i dont have pictures from the afghan pearl because my friend is on holidays, may be this plant has started to bloom.

Grow Questions

SnowmanZeroZerostarted grow question 1y ago
Does anyone have a suggestion what could cause the yellowing of the big leafs? The plant has four biotabs as nutrition.

Lack of potassium. In future, use liquid fertilizers so you can control nutrition better, biotabs may seem like an easy option but they are far too vague in their usefulness. Also, please don't remove any more leaves, your plant NEEDS them to make the energy it needs to grow.

SnowmanZeroZero flowering has started wooohooo since i can't comment on my grow question regarding the afghan pearl: thank you all for your input! I also think it is a wrong ph value. it is watered with rainwater but the soil in this pot is older and maybe it has absorbed properties of the concrete pot. The substance of the soil is good in itself, but it could be waterlogged at times. I will give some liquid fertilizer to my friend, maybe it helps.

SnowmanZeroZero sticky orange: she was growing like hell and is now over 1m tall. maybe last week was only the begining of preflowering. she looks healty and strong, very pleasent smell. happy with my choice of plagron allmix, hassle free veg and frist weeks of flowering, recommended afghan pearl: last weekend I visited my friend. seeing the plant in person was different from what the pictures show, she is much shorter and a overall smaller aperience than sticky orange, but she is much ahead in producing flowers. i missed to take pictures, but she is doing fine considering the not so perfekt place and setup for her.

SnowmanZeroZero this week lets have a look at the genetics catalogue vs. reality: Sticky Orange XXL Automatic seeds are 80% indica / 20% sativa. Afghan Pearl CBD is 60% indica, 40% sativa. In reality the afghan pearl is short with broad leaves and flowers fast, where as the sticky orange is tall with slim big leaves and flowers slowy. :D I find it _very_ interessting how far ahead the afghan pearl has come. She is only one week older. Maybe these +1-3 degrees from her location near a river makes all the difference, sunshine wise both plants should have gotten the same amount.

SnowmanZeroZero as you can see the afghan pearl is doing great. she has already produced nice buds with lots of resin. The sticky orange is far behind, still no resin, not sure how she will turn out. you could say she is only in her 2nd week of blooming.

SnowmanZeroZero sticky orange is doing great, she has picked up so much speed. in about 3-4 weeks it should be time to harvest . now that she has nice flowers i'm a little scared of mold, we have a very rainy summer in germany :( hopefully i have pictures from the afghan pearl next week.

So we finally harvested the afghan pearl. the buds are resinous but airy and leavey. the yield is very small also due to the bad weather, not so good location and bud rot. She was a small plant, but considering that she did not have any good soil or constant care more was'nt to be expected.

She is massiv and easy to grow. Very happy how she turned out. At first I was'nt sure because she needed a long time to get going. the yield is currently at 324g but i have 4 more side branches that i could not havest because my drying net is full and i'm worried it will rot in there. downside all of the buds at the top have some bud rot that had to be discarted. Smelles like oranges but did not stink up the place too much. to be honest i find it very tiresome to harvest.

the end.
