Hello guys, this is my third ever grow, my second ever diary and my first photoperiodic plant.
In my grow tent I got some older automatic plants and a fresh new Hulkberry automatic run (you can follow that grow in my second diary). The light cycle is 18/6 under my Spider Farmer SE3000. Later in the grow I obviously have to flip to 12/12, and hopefully my Hulkberry will be harvested by that time. Otherwise the fresh auto plant will have to deal with that too, but that's a problem for future me.
Since this is a photoperiodic grow, slow and steady wins the race. Maybe I will try some mainlining techniques if I feel confident enough. The goal is to have a big plant after my autos that will reward me with some sweet Super Silver Haze nuggets. I am a little bit worried about the available space ... 😅Wish me luck 🙏.

For germination I used the paper towel method. After 2 days the seed had developed a nice root and got planted into small pot. Another 36 hours later the plant broke the surface. I call this day (09.05.2024) day 0.
Happy growing everybody and stay tuned for the upcoming weeks! 🌱
First week of vegetative growth has started! Not as fast as I would like it to grow but I see some development.
Day 1: Soil is still moist from pre watering so no water and no feeding.
Day 2: No water, no feeding.
Soil has a green layer on top, think I pre watered way too much. Will have to let it dry out completely before next watering and feeding.
Day 3: Soil was finally dry. Removed the green layer and gave 200ml of pH'd water to 6.3 with a little bit of root juice.
Day 4: No water, no feeding.
Growing slow but steady.
Day 5: No water, no feeding.
Plant got some nice new growth.
Day 6: No water, no feeding.
Day 7: No water, no feeding.
I think I overwatered a little bit. But still the plant is growing quite healthy.
Really happy with the first week. No bigger troubles occured and the plant looks happy.
Happy growing everybody and stay tuned for next week! 🌱
Start of week 2. Got a dehumidifier yesterday since the humidity is currently very high where I live and I fear bud rot for my older plants. Humidity is now set to a constant 55%. For the older plants this is a little bit too high, for the newer plants it is a little bit too old. Not the best idea to grow in different phases but it is what it is 😅.
Good thing about the dehumidifier is the higher temperature during night time. Had troubles with low temperatures before, especially the older plants seem to like it since they grew like crazy even with lights off. I think I will time control the new hardware since I'm afraid of the next electricity bill 😂.
Day 8: No water, no feeding.
Day 9: Gave 200ml of ph'd tap water with a micro dose of Root Juice.
Some decent growth, but nothing too insane.
Increased light distance, want the older plants to stretch a bit. It was too much for this young lady anyway.
Day 10: No water, no feeding.
Even with the lower PPFD it still continues to grow nicely.
Day 11: No water, no feeding.
Day 12: Gave 200ml of water with a dose of Root Juice and a micro dose of CalMag (my tap water ist quite soft) ph'd to 6.4.
Day 13: No water, no feeding.
New branches are slowly forming. When they are strong enough, I will top the plant for the first time. I guess it will need 3-4 more days though.
Day 14: No water, no feeding.
Thought about topping the plant since the side branches got some decent growth right now. I think if I wait one or two days longer the plant will be able to recover even quicker.
And that is the end of week 2. Going really well so far without me doing anything fancy. Next week the plant will be topped. Have to transplant one day as well, but there is not a lot of room left in the tent 😅. Good thing is the current container should be enough for one or two weeks more and after that there is maybe already some room in the tent again. We will see how that goes...
See you next week and happy growing everybody! 🤪🌱
Start of week 3 and the plant still looks healthy. It got transplanted into a 9l pot yesterday. Unfortunately I didn't take any photos since I focused on stressing the plant as little as possible but I can tell you that the roots already ran out of space. Luckily I got enough space in my tent for the bigger pot.
After the transplantation I gave 500ml of tap water @pH6.3 with 2ml of Biobizz Root Juice.
Tought about topping the plant this morning but ran out of time because of work so I will do it later when I come back home.
Day 15: No water, no feeding (plant got watered after transplantation).
Day 16: No water, no feeding.
Day 17: Soil was dry, ramped up the dosage to 1l @pH6.3 with
- 4ml of Root Juice
- 1ml of CalMag Agent
- 2ml of Cannazym
Day 18: No water, no feeding.
Internodial spacing is too short. Would really like if the plant could stretch a bit. If it was the only plant in the tent I would increase the light distance but I have flowering plants in the tent as well so that is not an option. Any suggestions on how to decrease PPFD for a single plant without touching the lamp?
Day 19: No water, no feeding.
Started mainlining. Removed everything beside the 2 main nodes.
Day 20: Soil is still wet. Will have to water tomorrow or the day after.
The 2 main branches really got some substantial growth. Plant seems to be handling the stress of the cuts quite well and directs its energy into its only left branches.
Day 21: Gave 1l @pH6.3 with
- 4ml Root Juice
- 2ml Cannazym
- 1ml CalMag Agent
Topped the 2 main branches. ✂️
Plant is too bushy to really train it. Don't know if it is the strain or the intense light. Still happy with the growth. Not in a rush with this plant, it can take its time.
And that's it for week 3. Stay tuned for next week and happy growing everybody! 🌱
Start of week 4. Plant took the next two cuts really well. Leaves are a little bit dark, thought I gave grow fertilizer but saw in my diary that that is not the case. Looks like N tox but I don't know what could have caused that. By going light on the nutes it should be solved.
Will have to wait for the next 4 cuts but it will probably happen this week.
Day 22: No water, no feeding.
Day 23: Soil is still moist.
Side branches almost ready for LST.
Day 24: No water, no feeding.
Side branches got LST'd. Removed both first true leaves since they got mostly shaded. ✂️
Day 25: Soil is still moist.
Not much to do with her yet ...
Day 26: Gave 1l of tap [email protected] with
- 1ml Calm agent
- 4ml Root Juice
Main branches almost ready to be topped.
Day 27: Soil is still moist.
Topped all the 4 branches again for a total of 8 colas.
New growth is slightly twisted. I think I damaged it during LST. Won't be too much of a problem I guess.
Day 28: Soil is still moist.
Plant took the topping very well again. New branches are slowly forming.
Removed the 4 main fan leaves since they were partially shaded and not doing too much for the plant.
Stay tuned for next week and happy growing everybody! ❤️
Start of week 5. I'm not yet sure if I want to split any tops again, got 8 main branches right now. We will see.
Day 29: Soil is almost dry but not yet.
New side branches start to take over.
UPDATE: Moved the plant to my balcony since I did not have enough space in my grow tent. Also the mix of photos and autos was a terrible idea. Guess everybody makes mistakes ... Will see how it goes on my balcony.
Day 30: Gave 2l of tap water @pH6.3 with
- 2ml CalMagAgent
- 4ml Root Juice.
Readjusted LST.
Plant seems to be okay with her new growing space. I see some nice growth today.
Day 31: Soil is still moist.
Day 32: Soil is still moist.
Very cold and cloudy here. Moving her inside during night time
Day 33: Soil is still moist.
Dsy 35: Missed my photo yesterday. Was gone all day. Plant stood in the rain. Won't need to water for some time.
Adjusted LST for side branches. Got 8 main colas right now, thinking of topping again for 16 since I got so much time left till flowering would happen naturally. Maybe I will flip manually by putting it back into my tent ... we will see.
And that's it for this week! Thanks for passing by and happy growing everybody! 🌱🙏
**Long time no update.**
I've had a few struggles with this lady. Transplanting her into a 38L pot stunted her quite a bit. I don't think I damaged the roots too much, but I guess I was wrong. The weather hasn't been helpful either—almost no sun, rain most of the day, and too much wind. I nearly lost three tops due to a combination of overly strict LST and a storm. Thankfully, I fixed it in time, and the tops seem to be okay now. I won’t remove the tape too early, though.
I'll update when there's more to report. The plant is making a comeback and should soon be ready for the next round of toppings.
Day 41: Finally saw some growth over the last couple of days and decided that she was ready for the next round of toppings. She now has 16 branches. It will stunt her again probably.
Thanks for reading and happy growing everybody! 🌱
The plant isn't growing much due to the lack of sunlight during the day. However, the damaged branches survived, so I removed the tapes.
Day 45: Soil was dry after the heavy rains of the last days. Gave 4l of tap water with
- 5ml Calmag Agent
- 10ml Cannazym
- 10ml Canna Terra
- 20ml Root Juice
I will no longer adjust the pH, as the tap water is too high and the rainwater is too low, so it balances itself out.
Day 46: Soil is still moist.
Finally some sun the last 2 days and if weather prognosis is correct it will stay like this for now. Hopefully we will see some development, plant had a lot of stress and didn't develop as it could have.
Day 48: Sun is shining, the weather is sweet 🎶. Really happy with her recent development, gives me hope for a happy end.
Edit: Had to give a small dosage of water again: 2l tap water @pH6.5 with
- 2ml Calmag Agent
Thanks fo reading and happy growing everybody!
Next week of vegetative state and the plant is developing really well. Weather was friendly the last couple of days but that will change shortly.
Will need to decide if I want to split some more branches, currently got 16 main colas.
Day 49: Soil was dry so I gave 2l of tap water.
Day 52: Gave a little dosage of tap water with some left over nites @pH6.5.
Day 55: Soil is still moist since it's raining all day long again. Not enough sun since there're too many clouds.
Still decided to do a last round of toppings. From what I expect she will grow 2-3 more months before flowering from her outside conditions so I thought she'd have enough time to recover from that.
Also removed some of the larger fan leaves but also kept a few for extra energy.
Thanks for reading and happy growing everybody! 🌱
I don't have any progress to report on this little lady. She is still trying to recover from her 16 (!) toppings and the weather has been a b**ch lately. When I finally see some progress I will update this diary.
Day 60: Soil is still moist from rain and the last feeding.
Thanks for reading and happy growing everybody! 🌱
Another week of veg begins, and the weather still doesn't provide enough sun for her to thrive. However, the side branches are finally developing. I won't top her again; 32 colas were probably already too many. Instead, I'll remove the next set of side branches and let her grow upwards..
Day 64: Soil was a little bit dry - got some rain before - so I decided to give 2l of water with
- 8ml Cannazym
- 8ml Canna Terra Vega
- 4ml Calmag Agent
Day 66: Soil is wet because I left it standing in the rain for too long. Will need some time to dry out I guess.
Adjusted LST and removed inner fan leaves to slow her down on purpose. ✂️
Thanks for reading and happy growing everybody. 🌱
Things are progressing slowly at the moment, but that’s not a concern—she's just a delightful addition to my other indoor projects. We're expecting some sunshine this week (finally, some summer vibes!), so she should experience noticeable growth in the coming days.
I’ve removed some of the larger fan leaves, leaving her with only the new branches. If I were in a hurry, I would have kept more leaves, but given my limited space, slowing her growth is necessary.
Day 71: I've been giving her water occasionally when the soil is dry and added some vegetative nutrients since this stage is taking a long time.
Just a quick update on the Super Silver Girl. The weather has been mostly cloudy here, so there hasn't been much development over the past few days. I've changed my approach to the LST (Low-Stress Training) and made some final adjustments. She might look a bit rough right now, but once the branches "stand back up," her beauty will shine through again.
Unfortunately, I had a mishap—the pot fell over, and one of the branches snapped in two places. I taped it up right away, but I'm not sure if it will recover.
I'll provide another update soon.
Day 80: The promised update, the branche survived. It's like the fourth time a branch broke that the plant recovered from - impressive!
Day 81: It's confirmed that the branch survived. Added few more photos.
Day 83: It's pretty hot outside so I gave 4l of tap water @pH6.5 with
- 4ml Calmag Agent
- 4ml Cannazym
Thanks for reading and happy growing everyone! 🌱
Another week without much sun, which I kinda even prefer actually. She had some decent growth over the last couple of days. Only downside is that the branches have different levels of development but that should be fine.
Day 89: Uploaded another photo and gave 8l of tap water @pH6.5 with
- 10ml Cannazym
- 10ml Terra Vega
- 10ml Calmag Agent
Day 90: So I realised that some of the main branches are behind in development so I adjusted LST for one last time. Also I removed all the new side branches on every main branch and cut off some of the bigger fan leaves of the dominant branches to keep them in check.✂️
--- Future Plan ---
Instead of letting her flower outside I'll move her back inside my tent in mid September. The fear of getting bud rot changed my mind. Also this was my neighbours hopefully won't hate me more than they already do. 🙃
@Stony_German, Danke Stony! Dachte beim ersten Bruch schon "das war's" aber die Pflanze konnte alle Äste heilen. Wirklich wahnsinnig resistente Pflanzen, und wunderschön noch dazu!
@Stony_German, Thanks again mate! I know, outdoors in Germany plants usually flower at the end of August or at the start of September. If it won't flower until mid September I will move it back inside my tent as a backup solution.
@Sonic27, Adding some more things that are important in my opinion:
- first plan your layout, then start training
- don't top too early: side branches need some substantial growth and the main stem needs to be thick enough
- same applies for side branches (in this diary I was too early for example)
- be gentle when applying LST
- don't use thin wire for LST, it can cut into stems that break when they grow further
- when stems don't properly bend, give them a slight pinch, that way they get softer
- don't cut off too much plant material (as stated earlier)
Hope this helps. ❤️
@Franky38, Freut mich! Bin selber überrascht wie gut das für nen First try geworden ist. Ganz ohne Wunden hat es nicht geklappt aber die Lady hat sich immer wieder regeneriert, wahnsinnig resistente Pflanzen 😍
@DaddyPrime2, Growing since April when it became legal in Germany 😂. I've watched some grow tutorials, the rest is try and error. Highly recommend to check out "basementganja" on YouTube, he is my virtual senpai.
