Day 0 - seeds planted. 2 x Erdpurt from Ace Seeds. Feminized photos. Germinated in moist paper towels for ~48 hours and planted ~1-2 cm down in solo cups. 1 part perlite, 1 part vermiculite, 3 parts organic soil. Placed in a south/east window with a glass dome. Temp in dome 25-30 Celsius with 70-80% humidity. After my first (failed) try with autos, I’m giving it a shot with photos. Wish me luck :)

Day 7 since seed planted. Had to leave them alone for day 4-7. Temperature range was fine (20-25). Humidity too high (90 --75%), as I was worried I couldn’t water + the dome did not have enough circulation. Now buried the stretching stems with 2 cm soil, watered and gave them a quick introduction to the sun.

Not doing great! Apparently haven’t figured out the seedling stage, but hopefully this girl in a survivor :) Sloooowly seeing new growth. Still stretching a bit, so introduced her to the sun on a cloudy day. Stable temps (20-25) and humidity ranging from 65-85. Doggo wanted a little taste and accidentally tipped over the sister seedling.

Not using growlights (and the weather has been cloudy). Is it too early to introduce her to the outside in cloudy weather and very, very mild wind? Photone app says ~2000-2500 ppfd. Anything else I can do to help her? Thanks

Seeds in the wild grow from direct sun. Its best to expose it early on. do it in small increments and look up something called hardening off. This is what you want to be doing. Cloudy days are great for getting them used to the spectrum and wind. I direct plant my cannabis seeds outdoors and give them no special treatment in terms of shading them from the elements outdoors. its sink or swim for them. They almost all grow up just fine, there are some dude seeds every now and then. Eg i am planing out my outdoor grow this year and have about 7 plants out there. planted last week and the majority of them popped up already. Given its in a small pot the they can dry out faster once the roots are established, when its ready, transplant it, I like doing this on a day it may rain on or is overcast so it less stress for them. Good Luck!

3/6 this one is having a rough childhood and seems stunted too. Last week was used for hardening off Starting this week, it will be staying outside in direct sun for 10-12 hours per day.

I have to leave her alone for 3-4 days. What gives her the best chance of survival? 1) Transplant early into a bigger pot and leave outside (8h of direct sun, 9-18 Celsius) 2) Transplant early and put inside (10-12h of window “sun” 3) Half dome her inside 4) Half dome her outsid

My suggestion would be to transplant it into a larger pot. At week 3, you should be able to transplant no problem. When you water before you leave if you have transplanted it into a larger pot. Make sure you utilize proper watering techniques by saturating the entire medium. This is done by watering enough over about 10 min to have roughly 10-20% of the water come out the bottom of the pot. This sounds like a lot at the moment but I can assure you that if done correctly your roots will grow much faster and the plant will be healthier. Allow for the pot to dry back out before your next water, at this stage it is roughly every 4 days or so. I also like to pick the pot up just before I water to get a feel for weight, then once I’m done watering. After a few times and a few grows you can really tell when the plant needs water by just the weight alone. Also, if it is outside now, keep it outside. I hope this helps.

23/6 she has started to grow again after her last transplant. She is outside all day now even with cold nights (13 celsius) and too many clouds. I have started giving a Little bit of Organic nutes with every other watering. She has a root coming out of the drainage hole, so I transplanted her into a 7.5L fabric pot.. ! Very interesting that she almost looks like she has 2 main stems from nature’s side. If you have any good tips on how to deal with it with topping/ LST’ing, please feel free to share :)

I'm a new grower, so I haven't seen any plants having two stems like this one before. I'm looking to transplant sometime in the next week to a 1-2 gallon fabric pot. How can I make use of the two stems (photo)? Should I skip topping and just tie down the 2 main branches? Thank

You have 2 and a half stems if you count the one in the middle too😉 But I would get rid of the little one and top the other two. Then put them in a bigger pot. That way you'll get a nice bushy plant that's not growing too tall. Much success ;-)

Day since sprout. I think she is doing well, despite having a rough start. Has been getting nice sun (6am-21pm), but now looking into a few days of rainy weather. I will up the nutes a bit from now. I’m still not sure how to manage the divided main stem, but I wanted to give her time to recover after the transplate.

7/7 Weather hasn’t been ideal, so a little bit of slowing down. Watering every 2-3 days and giving nutes with every other watering. No immediate issues other than stunted growth.

First outdoor photo (Erdpurt fem, AceSeeds) - How much does the darkness needed to flower vary between strains? - Will she only flip to flowering once the daylight hits 12h in mid/late September (Northen Europe)? - Any factors other than light that affects flowering? Thank you

12-12 is the cycle for flowering , its for all strains the same BUT Indica dominant types can and will flower at 15 hours light ... she will begin to flower in the end of august(NE).. but you can also put her in the dark (in a spare room somewhere or closet) for 12h pd when you think its time! (is what i always do when i grow pfotoperiod outside, (worx great) GL!

14/7 What a week it has been for this girl. She was the patient of my very first topping operation! So far she seems to have avoided too much stress. I probably should (have) pruned the Little 3rd stem, but simply too cute to remove :) I will give her another week before transplanting into a bigger pot.

I want to repot this photoperiod from its 8L pot to a 20L pot (2G-5G). Used all pots in middle sizes. It’s my first photo, so not certain when it will flip to flowering here in zone 8b. When is the optimal time to repot? Ideal time in the new bigger pot before flowering? Thanks

23/7 late update by a few days. Transplanted into a 20L / 5G pot earlier. No sign of flowering yet 👍 The topping (my first) seem to have worked alright, so it looks she will have 5-6 main budsites, but we will see how she turns out. She has seen a bit of pests and probably a little bit of underfeeding, as some of the smaller lower leaves have turned yellow. Filling in fairly well, but would like to see some more growth in terms of height. First photo, so not sure if she will have a growth spurt closer to flowering. Overall looking good and I’m excited to see when the photos will flip to flowering here in zone 8b with 12/12 naturally being mid September. Edit: 24/7 I tried doing some LST to spread out the rays a bit. First time doing LST, so any tips are appreciated :)

Hey, she looks a healthy beauty. Now LST for me I would have waited untill she’s a little bigger BUT thats just me. You want to be tieing the furthers point of the plant to the pot like you have done, make the connections or knots a little tighter as they grow they can slip off. Just keep doing what you have done.. prune lower for that will not be worth harvesting. I also like to place a net over the top and form into a scrogg

29/7 seems like the big photo took the toppings and LST fairly well (my first attempt!). Not sure if I should continue tying down the stems that poke up through the canopy? When is it no longer beneficial to top? Decent weather with a few sunny and a few rainy days. Watered every 3-4 days in the 20L pot with nutes. Love this plant ❤️

21/8 Still in early preflower? No issues with the big Erdpurt photo and seems to be handling the move well, even though 3 hours in a dark trash bag and a new environment can’t have been easy. Water and nutes the same. Killed some leaves by giving a little flowering nutes, so reverted back to full organic veg nutes. Will be interesting to see when it fully switches. This new hobby is just so amazing ❤️

29/8 a late update again. I’m not sure when to actually set it as flowering, but here we go. It’s handled the new environment more or less okay, although I haven’t seen a Big stretch (yet). It’s getting a bit of irregular sun and lights hours, as the new place is not as flexible as the last. Before it got watered every 3-4 days, but I only watered it for the second time this morning in 11 days. Next watering will be the last of my organic nutes, so I will have to see what I can do.

If the other plant does not have any signs of rot no need to kill it. Do keep an eye on it though. Bud rot is more a localized problem in the plant and when it gets out of hand it can infect the whole thing. The molds fuzziness are its spore arms. so the more spores it releases the higher chance they will mold another part of the plant or another plant in the same area. Spores can survive for a long time and wait for the perfect conditions to grow. Low air movent, high RH and fluctuating temps. The spores are everywhere can't avoid it 100% but can lower some risk. One way to help avoid this is by keeping the RH low, and air flow up, this helps prevent the spores from germinating also air filtering but that's more an indoor thing. For me when I grow outdoors, I can not control the wet season near harvest, almost always 99% of the time my plant gets a bit of budrot or WPM in sept/oct. So what I do now is I only grow autoflowers outdoors and they finish up before the wet season starts in aug early sept and I avoid the issue outright. Other options are to grow big larfy sativa's, with lower bud density, this allows them to breath more and helps prevent the mold from finding a nice spot to germinate in. To tell if its rotten look for off smells, textures and colours. It will make it smell sour and gross, can turn it into mushy and slimy and the colours look like dead plants, brown, black, some yellowing. Good Luck!

11/11 around 21-22 weeks in. Found bud rot in one of the top shoots. Awaiting if anything can be saved. Been really humid conditions outside (~around 80%) and it doesn’t seem they had enough air circulation for the weather :/ Awaiting tips if anything can be safe or they should be scrapped
