5/24 Update
Let's get this started! It's been a while, Growdiaries, so let's hop to it! • Running Alaskan Bananaberry & Strawberry Cheesecake Autos from Seedsman 🔥
We're gonna run these in 100% coco, directly sown into 3 gallon pots. We'll be feeding with the Athena Balanced Line at low doses when we see heads up, and going to kick these into high gear!
5/28 Update
Everything has sprouted nice and healthy! Both A.B.'s and 1 Strawberry Cheesecake popped yesterday, and the last S.C. popped up today! We started a very mild feeding with Athena, and excited to see how they fare for autos!
6/1
Looking like everything is digging the half strength feedings. Hand watering about 1/4 gal per day @ 6.0-6.2 pH, TDS coming to 550-600ppm per gal with temps between 67-69°F. Next feeding will be going to full strength, and lowering lights to 24" @ 25%.
6/7
Week 2 getting off to a great start, turning 14 days since spout. We've gotten to work these autos to full strength on the Athena regiment with dry-backs every other day as of now. Once these plants get to size, dry-back should be daily and following the regiment program fully. Of course these Seedsman cultivars are handling this like a champ! Incoming more coco to back fill the sunken space and add support to the stalks under the cotyledon. Will be back filling with Riococo PCM - still 100% coco coir.
6/14
Day 23 since sowing into soil, and these autos are really putting in the work! Everything is taking to full strength Athena like it's a small breakfast, haha. The runt is even gaining in size no issue! We added more coco from Riococo to backfill the pots and add some stability. Got some LST gear incoming so we can maximize the yields. Seedsman for the win as always!
6/19
These autos are coming along quickly - faster than I thought in 100% coco. Strawberry Cheesecake especially enjoys the Athena Blended program and [#1] is putting out amazing growth. Both of the Alaskan Bananaberrys are putting out a really fine vegetative aroma, and growing amazingly thick stalks to start. Lights are still at 50%, and may lower about 4" to increase intensity.
6/21
LST gear came in yesterday so we hopped on getting these branches trained out! These clips from Budtrainer make it exceptionally easy to position the branches where I want them to be.
6/24
Recovering from LST very quickly, I added some more wire to train top colas and side branches more effectively. Feedings have been working effectively, using Stack as a foliar twice a week has really helped as well!
6/26
I noticed between 6/24-6/26 that some evident signs of preflower were coming along, and switched out Grow A & B with Bloom A & B.
6/28
So far so good! They really enjoyed their first bloom feed in this go-around.
7/4
All these plants are coming along absolutely beautifully! I did a little maintenance on some leaves not doing well, and noticed that Alaskan Bananaberry #1 smells a lot like fruity bubblegum! The aroma hasn't came out in the buds just yet, being Day 8 in bloom today. All the other plants are pushing out a variety of funky smells!
7/10
These plants are truly coming along great! I'm slowly defoliating small branches that will be in the way later on, or not receiving enough light. I'll be adding some more ventilation here over the next couple of days to ensure a nice climate.
7/16
Everyone is pushing through flower with little to no issues! Stretch is coming to an end and the buds coming off of these plants sure look promising so far! Most aromatic at the moment is Strawberry Cheesecake Auto 1, smelling like baked cheese and berries.
7/20
So far so good! Strawberry Cheesecake 1 is looking like the top dog in this run, getting funkier by the day. Alaskan Bananaberry 1 also smells a lot like some good Tutti-Fruity bubblegum , and the vegetation itself also has a very sweet smell to it all together - very overpowering!
7/24
So far these plants are doing all the work! Tapering down nutrients ever so slowly, these girls are happy and stinking up the tent like no tomorrow! Strawberry Cheesecake 1 has held that funky-cheesey-curdled strawbeery milk so far, while SC2 has a more herbal and floral smell to it. Alaskan Bananaberry 1 is smelling ripe like a fruity gum medley, and overpowering AB2. The taxonomic growth between the two are pretty different but the terp profile smells more or less the same.
7/28
Growth is coming along at a very consistent rate! Profiles overall are getting stronger and trichome production is booming!
S.o.W. : 7/31
8/1
SC1 smells absolutely rancid & sweet, like you dumped strawberry milk in the sun and added some sugar to it - and not to mention the entertaining foxtailing! SC2 is very opposite in how it grows and smells, being more of a fruity funk with a razzle-dazzle of cheese! AB1 & 2 have such a sweet profile, smelling like a sweet berry like.
8/4
You can see the bracts are truly starting to swell up across the board. AB2 may have a longer flowering time, seeing a consistent amount of stigmas that are just not ready. We're just gonna take this one day at a time.
