Planted the seed directly in a plug. Less than two days later we had the seedling emerge, 1 day later the roots already came out of the bottom, and we transplanted it into its final pot.

Good growth during the 3 weeks. As a "sativa" we expected it to grow taller by now, but it remained incredibly flat. As we later discovered it had a calcium deficiency, which actuallystarts to be visible on the picture of day 20. We wonder if it might have something to do with the plant staying this compact. For that reason we also still needed to wait quite a bit until we could start with the LST.

Started with LST on day 21, and by the end of the the former side branches grew enough to allow us to bind them down as well. Calcium deficiency, or at least what we are quite sure it was began to show more, and some time during the week we started to give Calmag.

Finally the plant starts to look really nice after LST, and it seems like we've got the Calcium deficiency under control. Still, even by using LST we would have expected it to grow a bit taller by now, but it remains quite compact and bushy. Did some light defoliation to allow lower branches to get some light. Feeding pretty exactly according to the Biobizz Schedule.

Growing quite nicely, as novice growers, we are quite happy with the results. Would naturally always be interesting to read other people opinions. Sometime during this week, we also defoliated and removed quite a bunch of the lower side branches. Not quite as high up, as we've seen it in instructions for lollipopping, and maybe also a bit late. It just felt like there is no chance that any light will ever reach the lower parts of the plant.

It looks like it recovered without any issues or signs of stress from our light "lollipopping". To us it looks really beautiful. Would be great though to get any feedback on what we could have done better so far. Being at 8.5 weeks after seeding now, it still seems quite unlikely that it will be finished after 10 weeks (in 1.5 weeks). As we know that our light is quite weak for the flowering phase, this is now also an exciting time, to see if the LST at least helps to get the most out of it, and if the buds start to fatten up.

We also discovered more brown spots on the leaves. You can see it on some of the pictures. We believe it might be a potassium deficiency, because we maybe added a bit too much calmag in the end? Todays feeding round we didn't add any calmag, and we hope it helps.

Probably a little nutrient lock out causing a calcium deficiency. IDK why you add cal mag for soil. Coco - yes, soil, no. Check and calibrate meter Check ppm /ec under 2.0 Check ph (soil 6.5) Calibrate those meters!

She is barely growing taller, which is probably fine, as she's mostly supposed to focus on blossoms by now. We're still feeding according to the full biobizz schedule, even though I am reading more and more often, that we might need to give a lot less.. but at least it doesn't seem to do any harm, so at least for this grow we just keep on following the plan. I am a little bit worried, that the buds are growing to close to each other. Also put the dehumidifier in the room, to keep humidity under control. Update: After getting feedback to our question regarding space between buds, we tried our best to gently bend some branches more towards the sides, as can be seen on the latest pictures I added. Still really dense in some spots, but partially also becauae of thw tight node spacing. We will maybe remove some leaves in these areas, but we do not want to stress her too much at this point.

I am a little bit worried about the colas growing quite close to each other, and quite dense (the side branches are basically all start to grow into the main bud of the cola). Should we do something to get a bit more space and ventilation inbetween? (more pics and video in diary)

You can always try to pull them apart using string. They do not need much space but the main concern is proper airflow. Proper airflow can also be achieved by thinning out some leaves. A combination of pulling apart the branches and thinning out the leaves will give you the results you are looking for. This should be a very low stress event so you should not see negative impact when done properly. Just be mindful not to pull a branch too much this late because they are very stiff and prone to breaking. Hope this helps.

Could these white spots be mildew? We could easily just basically shake them off, without any residue remaining. Currently only discovered in those two spots seen on the picture. In pics I find from mildew, it usually starts more dusty.. I also made one picture under the micro.

the close up in pic 4 is not. it would look like a web of threads covering things. This doesn't look quite like WPM. Can't be 100% certain. It'll grow quite fast, so if it's not spreading it's not wpm. Usually starts in a round-ish shape and a bit fuzzy looking. Magnified it;s a bunch of thread-like stuff. here's a good example from reddit -- just imagine a smaller roundish start.. but that's how it always looked when i had it. Ther emay be other variations? if so i haven't seen them, yet. This is usually plant-specific pathogen, so should be fairly consistent.

So, she is more than 10 weeks old now, so according to Fast Buds, she should be ready by now. But I already realized, looking through other diaries here, that the time the plant takes depends on the conditions. From how the buds look, I would still give her almost two weeks. Let's see. In general, I guess, it shows that our light is not ideal for bloom, because definitely buds are not fattening up as they could. Unfortunately I noticed some dry and curled up smaller leaves, I will add a grow question about those.

Noticed some dry curled up leaves in the lower parts of the plant. It's exclusively smaller leaves. From top the plant still looks quite healthy (check other pictures in the diary). Is this nutrient burn? Is it normal that it start in smaller leaves at the bottom?

Today (Mon. 17. June) she is 11 weeks old, and still barely showing any signs of aging. Some buds have more orange pistils, other less, but the majority of buds just grew a little bit fatter, without much visual difference otherwise. Maybe a bit more frosty. I think the flowers still look much to young, to start checking trichomes (please comment if you think otherwise), but lets see what happens till the end of the week. Her fragrance is more fruity now. Still not a very strong smell. Not that we need to worry about this too much in Germany anymore, but we also don't want to piss off the neighbors with pungant smell. But so far that is not really an issue.

Are these trichomes already cloudy? Are there tiny spots of amber visible as well? Most pictures in the web show clear vs cloudy from different angles, so I have trouble to really tell the difference. How close would you think we are to harvest, and should I start flushing?

90% cloudy, check the transparence on the black backscreen. Its black color is barely shining through/ you can beraly see through them. Its perfect time to flush now, you can harvest in 10-14days? Or even later, all a thing of preference and what you want. I Would flush for atleast 10days, 14 better imo. But i saw a lot of people only do around 7 days, so think that should work too

Decided to move her out of the grow room, and introduce her to the real sunlight outdoors to give space to another plant, and finally its sunny and warm enough outside. We are pretty sure we're going to harvest her some time this week :)

It's hard to see the trichomes, but they look mostly transparent and there are no visible amber colored ones. Best to wait another week and check in the mean time.

Depends how you like your smoke and/or if you'd like your flowers to have a chance to bulk up a bit... Judging by the photos, you got plenty of time left to test your patience and skills of observation, maybe even a bit more flushing to do? Personally I'd only go 1-2 more weeks max and shoot for an amber rate of 10-15% average across the plant. A good tip for figuring out how you like your trichs to look is to shoot for an amber rate of 15% on the area that is most mature on the plant as the plant never matures evenly. Then you can sort buds post harvest after scoping them and put like trichs with like trichs. Test smoke each and make notes of the trichs of the ones that do you right. If you find that 15% is too much of a couch-locking experience, you can always dilute the more mature buds with less mature ones in a grinder to strike balance.
