Gorilla Cookies Smoke Report Appearance: The buds are airy and not as dense as I would have hoped. While they don’t have the most impressive bag appeal, they make up for it in other areas. Aroma and Flavor: The scent of Gorilla Cookies is predominantly skunky, with hints that lean more towards Gorilla Glue than the typical sweet Cookies aroma. The flavor mirrors the scent, offering that skunky profile with subtle undertones of its Gorilla Glue lineage. Although the aroma and taste are good, they still need some additional curing to fully develop a richer and more intense experience. With time, I expect those earthy and skunky notes to become more pronounced, adding depth to the overall profile. Effect: The high starts with a noticeable head buzz that lasts for about 20 minutes, gradually giving way to a soothing body effect. This body high comes on slowly, relaxing you without leading to overwhelming drowsiness. It’s a nice balance, making it suitable for unwinding in the evening or enjoying a laid-back afternoon. Overall a nice strain. I give Gorilla cookies a 9.4 out of 10. Perhaps with a little bit more time for ripening and with better growing skills it could be a 10 of 10.

Reviews
Seems to be a good lineup. But it's the first time growing with coco and mineral fertilizer. So I have no comparison. But plants seem to like it. The grow fertilizer has very high nitrogen ratio. One plant had a nitrogen toxicity though I only gave 2/3 of the recommended amount in preflower phase. I recommend for Auto flowers to give half of the dosage of the feeding chart.
Solid products. Only used pH+ and pH - to adjust the pH. Did work like it should.

Harvest Date: 08.08 on Day 72 Overview: The Gorilla Cookies plant has been an impressive performer throughout the grow, showcasing a unique bud structure and an intense skunky aroma. However, the journey wasn’t without its challenges, particularly with mold appearing late in the flowering stage. Despite this, the final harvest was satisfying, with the buds exhibiting a rich resin coating and a strong, pungent smell. Yield and Bud Quality: The yield was alright but not spectacular with sticky buds that glistened with resin. Unfortunately, due to mold issues, I had to harvest earlier than planned, so the plant didn’t reach its full potential. However, the trichomes were mostly cloudy, with no amber ones, suggesting that the potency will still be high, leaning more towards an uplifting effect. What concerns me slightly is that the smaller buds have an excessive amount of leaves. While the leaves are fully covered in resin, I find that too many leaves affect the taste of my weed. As a result, I don't expect the final trimmed yield to be particularly impressive. The bud structure is somewhat reminiscent of Banana Purple Punch, which makes me wonder if I might have made a mistake in the growing process. I'd really appreciate any thoughts or advice you might have. Mold Issues: Mold was a significant concern in the final weeks. During my morning inspection, I discovered mildew within some of the larger buds, which required me to take drastic measures. I ended up dissecting the buds to remove any affected areas. This early harvest was a tough decision, but it was necessary to preserve the quality of the remaining plant material. Trichome Development: At harvest, the trichomes were about 90% cloudy, with the remaining 10% still clear. While I would have preferred to wait for more amber trichomes, the mold forced an early cut. Nonetheless, the trichome coverage was impressive, particularly on the sugar leaves, which were heavily coated. Aroma and Flavor: Gorilla Cookies exudes a powerful skunky aroma that became even more pronounced during the final stages of growth. I’m hopeful that these traits will carry over well into the curing process, enhancing the flavor of the final product. Drying and Trimming: For this harvest, I decided to take a slightly different approach. I opted to trim only the fan leaves while wet, leaving the smaller leaves to be trimmed after drying. This method should allow the buds to dry more slowly, which will help preserve their aroma. The drying process is taking place in my cellar, where the temperature is steady at about 19°C with no light exposure. This environment should contribute to a slow, even dry, ensuring the best possible flavor and potency. For curing, I’ll be using 2.6-liter mason jars, placing a Boveda 58% humidity pack in each jar. This should help ensure a slow and steady cure without risking further mold issues, allowing the buds to reach their full potential over time. Final Thoughts: Harvesting Gorilla Cookies has been a bittersweet experience. The plant showed great potential, but the onset of mold cut the journey short. Despite this setback, I’m optimistic about the quality of the final product. The early trichome state suggests that the effects will be more cerebral, which aligns with what I was aiming for. Looking Forward: This grow has been a learning experience, particularly in terms of environmental control to prevent mold. Moving forward, I’ll be even more vigilant about airflow and humidity, especially in the final weeks of flowering.

Grow Questions

I found small flies + white dots (almost silver) on leaves and aphids in between the buts. Remove top buds and the leaves. Gave her a shower and sprayed some light dose of neem oil What else can I do to save her? Or should I chop her? Buds not ripe yet.

Hello Smoking_Joe_Frasier, You are right, these are thrips. You can kill them pretty easy with one of the options mentioned in the article below, https://www.growweedeasy.com/cannabis-plant-problems/thrips Happy Growing Buddy! 💚

Congratulations on the harvest Just in time to avoid big losses 🙏 Humid conditions can cause budrot too, not only rain. I had it 3 times already. One rain will not destroy your crop but continuous bad humidity conditions, low temperatures and rain all together will U can have the most mold resistant plant ever but she wont make it trough 2 weeks of shitty weather I'm gonna make a nice shelter again soon for the flowering period

@Clutch, You’re absolutely right, my friend. My Blue Dream had a really big main bud that was almost begging for bud rot. After all I'm grateful for a yield of good ganja. I'm really looking forward to smoke those ladies My whole apartment is smelling like a cannabis dispensary. Wish you good luck with your grow. May Shiva be with you

@ChefDan420, Thanks mate, first time trying LST. I'm satisfied how they look. Also i'm curious if there's a big difference in the yield of the trained and untrained plants.

From my experience, doing some easy LST like bending the shoots away from the plant does no harm nor slow growth. Especially outside this will prevent other stressors. Due to the width you will have better airflow later and can prevent mold etc. .. additionally you will also get a much better canopy and therefore an improved harvest. If you want to strengthen your plants further, you could add something like SiCaMag by Plantboom. Last, you could consider getting a solar fan for around 40€, to further prevent mold and strengthen your stems.

@DayDream07, You guys convinced me to give LST a shot 😉. I thought about adding silicate or mycorrhizae, but I’m sticking with the Tripart series and Calmag for now. Let's see how far I can get with these. Thanks for the fan tip, but unless it's raining, they're outside catching some wind. I want those stems to be gym-level strong!

Honestly I see where you’re coming from with not wanting to stress the plant But LST and spreading the plant will only help you in the end. 95% of the time I’m willing to bet. Other 5% is other environmental/genetical problems

@CuriosityWebster, Thank you for your opinion. You convinced me to start an LST experiment on one of my plants. No risk no fun. Can you give me a tip on when is the best time to begin?

Whenever it rained, I moved the plants directly into the greenhouse. In the last few days, there hasn't been any rain. If the forecast didn't predict rain, I left them outside on the grass overnight. However, each morning I found the buds really wet from the dew, despite the dry weather.
