The pruning and lollipopping are to increase yield and quality.

This technique will also increase airflow and prevent pest, mold and fungal issues.
The yellowing is probably due to some sort of nutrient issue, BUT, I’m not a soil expert (I grow in coco) so I probably shouldn’t opine in the bottom yellow leaves - other than to pull them off along with most of the lower canopy. 👍
