Week 1: Initial Growth and Pruning Welcome to the second weekly update of our cannabis cultivation journey in Germany! Following the successful germination of our strains—Pulp Friction, Cookies Haze, Eleven Roses, Poddy Mouth, Critical Lemon Kush, and OG Kush—we’ve moved on to the first week of growth. This week, the focus has been on ensuring healthy initial growth and performing an early pruning to encourage robust development. Key Developments: 1. Early Vegetative Growth: - All seedlings have been transplanted into small pots with nutrient-rich, pre-moistened soil. - They have been placed under grow lights with an 18-hour light and 6-hour dark cycle. - The seedlings are displaying healthy growth, with vibrant green leaves and sturdy stems. 2. Pruning Process: - After about 2 weeks of growth, when the seedlings developed several sets of leaves, we performed early pruning. - Each plant was pruned to leave 8 side branches. This technique encourages the plant to focus its energy on these branches, promoting a more even and bushy growth. Steps Taken: 1. Monitoring: - Closely monitored the temperature and humidity levels, maintaining optimal conditions (temperature around 24-28 degrees Celsius and humidity between 60-70 percent). - Ensured the soil remained consistently moist but not waterlogged, watering only when the top inch of soil felt dry. 2. Nutrient Management: - Introduced a mild nutrient solution to support the young plants’ growth. - Avoided overfeeding to prevent nutrient burn, carefully following the recommended dosage for seedlings. 3. Pruning Technique: - Using sterilized scissors, carefully pruned the seedlings, leaving 8 side branches on each plant. - Made clean cuts to minimize stress and reduce the risk of infection. Next Steps: - Continue monitoring the plants for signs of stress or nutrient deficiencies. - Maintain the light cycle and environmental conditions to support healthy growth. - Observe the plants closely to ensure they are responding well to the pruning and adjusting care routines as needed.
