Week 2: Vegetative Growth and LST Welcome to the third weekly update of our cannabis cultivation journey in Germany! After successfully germinating and pruning our strains—Pulp Friction, Cookies Haze, Eleven Roses, Poddy Mouth, Critical Lemon Kush, and OG Kush—we’ve moved on to the second week of vegetative growth. This week, the focus has been on enhancing the plants' structure and promoting even growth through Low-Stress Training (LST). Key Developments: 1. Continued Vegetative Growth: - The plants have continued to grow vigorously, with new sets of leaves emerging and the stems thickening. - They are responding well to the 18-hour light and 6-hour dark cycle, showing healthy and robust development. 2. Low-Stress Training (LST): - To encourage even canopy growth and maximize light exposure, we started applying LST techniques. - Each plant was gently bent and tied down, allowing more light to reach the lower branches and promoting bushier growth. Steps Taken: 1. Monitoring: - Continued to monitor the temperature and humidity levels, maintaining optimal conditions (temperature around 24-28 degrees Celsius and humidity between 50-60 percent). - Ensured the soil remained consistently moist but not waterlogged, watering only when the top inch of soil felt dry. 2. Nutrient Management: - Continued with a mild nutrient solution to support the plants’ vegetative growth. - Carefully followed the recommended dosage to avoid overfeeding. 3. Low-Stress Training (LST) Technique: - Using soft plant ties, gently bent the main stems of the plants and secured them to the sides of the pots. - Made sure not to damage the stems or leaves while bending, and adjusted the ties as needed to guide growth. Next Steps: - Continue monitoring the plants for signs of stress or nutrient deficiencies. - Maintain the light cycle and environmental conditions to support healthy growth. - Observe the plants closely to ensure they are responding well to LST and make adjustments as necessary.
