Broke soil in 3 days on 5/30. 2nd ever run starting. Using an earth box jr. (Last run did 2 autos in 1 regular Earth box) With 7.5 gallons of soil, all fresh botanicare true earth, when I build the earth box I amended 1 cup of wormganics worm castings as well as 1/4 cup dry veg nutes.
Nothing much to do yet, check with finger for soil dryness, only added a little bit of water (8oz) midway of week 1. Mulch cover is doing good keeping it moist. Edit to add the DLi is at 10 with 18/6.
Very hot outside this week, my temps are pretty solid this last week at 72-76 as lights out is noon to 6pm. Growth has been steady, color is good. Top watered 1/4 gallon filtered well water at room temp this week. Soil is getting pretty dry, no indications from plant it needs water, last night I started a compost tea to put on today for all plants. Tea I made is 3 gallons, using 3 total tablespoons of black strap molasses, 1/2 cup COM lobster compost and 1/4 cup of worm castings. Will finish bubbling today at lights on, will top water in 1/2 gallon and use the rest on outdoor crops. I put a ring of worm castings around the drip line 2 days ago, will add dry bloom amendments tonight, so it's there when it's needed, hopefully 3 weeks longer, but likely 2 or less.
So. As seen by the pics I've got some funky leaves. It was an easy week. Still constant fast growth. The leaves got messed up from a spinosad spray I believe, waiting to see if it grows out next node. I put almost a half gallon of water in the bottom res 2 days ago, it's drank about half of that. I was gonna follow up in a few more days with a neem spray, my last auto hit flower before I could treat for pest, it went good but I'm reusing my soil and it's pretty active with life.
The growth has exploded. I believe I'm in pre flower. I have filled the reservoir with 1/2 gallon filtered well water at room temp 2 times 2 days apart this week, waiting until stretch to completely fill the res. No top water this week. I have not done any defoliation yet. Leaf to calyx ratio is good and spacing is good. DLi is at 30, lights are 15 inches away have not raised in a few days. Increased intensity to 50% over the weekend. No signs of light stress. Started leaf tucking large upper fan leaves to encourage growth from lowers
Growth was phenomenal. I was at 22 inches in the 3rd day of stretch. I put clips around the container and pulled everything down with twine looped around the branches. After 2 days I needed to super crop to even out the canopy. The res is dry in 1.5 to 2 days. Not seeing issues like my last run with over watering, I'm not letting large time lapses between dry-back so my last cultivar was way more sensitive. Everything is growing even. I'm trying to not use the trellis. We'll see how heavy it gets. I'm leaf tucking 2 to 3 times a day. Only took 3 leaves for light penetration. Every node work a flower is well exposed to light. I'm at 70% intensity, 18 inches, with a DLi of 25 at lowest site, 32 at top cola.
Lot of good growth, little to well. I super cropped a lower branch that took off, it was getting blasted with light. I twisted and popped it, laid out even with the canopy. Took very well to this. It turned up real nice to have the light. No nutrients this week, starting a compost tea tomorrow to top water after 24 hours of brewing. Getting some red in the petioles, streaks really. I don't believe it to be magnesium deficient, after peeking at other diaries it appears to be genetic. Smell is coming thru faintly.
Needed to super crop 2 additional branches today to keep an even canopy I'm running low on room to raise the light much more. I'm extremely impressed with the growth and size of flowers this week. I did not add any top dress this week, the leaves are rather dark but not shiny or curling so I used a compost tea by top watering .5 gallon in slowly. This was following a 7 hour dry back. Loving the earth box jr. For this size tent and auto genetics. It's drinking about 1 gallon every day with some dry back. Light defoliation to improve penetration took a few small underdeveloped flowers and branches of the bottom completing the lollipop.
Not too hard this week, stretch has slowed a lot as the week progressed. Keeping DLi around 35 to 45. Smell is getting strong this week. Pretty rotten/funky. Lower, oldest leaves are fading yellow a bit. Taking a few leaves each day. Only for penetration from top and old growth from under.
Easy week. Uptick of fungus gnats so, longer dry back, little DE and good. Drinking pretty heavy still, stretch is done. Vertical growth has slowed dramatically. Flowers are swelling nice. Some fade of older growth. Defoliating daily still, but cautious not to take to many.
More fade this week pistals are turning orange, water uptake is slower the end of this week. I've neglected it a lot. Work and life was crazy this week. No nutrients. The tricombs are mostly cloudy, several clear, barely any amber. So maybe 2 to 3 more weeks
Getting close to the finish line. Easy week water uptake is slower. Drinking about a gallon every 2 days and giving another 12 to 18 hour dry back after. Heavy defoliation last few days in prep for chop. Looking at tricombs is 100% cloudy and a little amber. Another week or 2 should do it.

Happy Harvest Day!
Illuminauto #53 - El Chemi Kiwi - Mephisto Genetics
Easy week, didn't use much water. Fade was good, tricombs looked like where I wanted to try all cloudy and a few amber. It's sister is outside growing completely naturally, no training, and I'll run it to over 10% amber to compare.
