Week five brought some key adjustments and challenges to our growing journey. For our indoor plant, I decided to adjust the lamp distance after taking some light measurements. By placing a pot underneath, I brought the plant closer to the light, which resulted in a significant growth boost. The plant responded very well to this change, showing robust growth and vitality. On the outdoor front, we encountered a pest issue. To combat this, I began spraying the plant with a protective coat to ward off the pests and ensure its health. This was crucial in maintaining the plant’s growth and preventing further damage.As the week progressed, the differences between the indoor and outdoor plants became more pronounced. The indoor plant started to outgrow the outdoor plant, developing more leaves and showing faster overall growth. This necessitated some defoliation; although initially hesitant, I decided to remove five large fan leaves to improve light penetration. This careful pruning should help optimize the plant’s growth. Additionally, I noticed some colorization on the leaves, which prompted me to add a dose of Cal-Mag. After this fertilisation, the leaves quickly returned to a healthy green, showing clear improvement. Towards the end of the week, the indoor plant began showing signs of pre-flowering, with small flowers starting to emerge. This marks an exciting new phase in their development.Both plants are progressing well despite the challenges, and I’m excited to see how they continue to develop.
