MrBanana Not easy to keep the humidity stable. The humidifier runs every few hours for 30 minutes - between 50-85%. The circulation fan is running so that the little stems become strong. The distance to the 150W LED lamp is hopefully correct at just over 70cm, so that the stems don't grow too long.

MrBanana Seedlings, almost small plants, that are growing diligently but no longer look so spindly since I hung the lamp a few centimeters closer. Repotting would still be too early for photoperiodic ones, I think. But I’ve started with a bit of fertilizer. The manufacturer recommends 2 ml/1l for week one. I was wondering which week I’m actually in, especially since it seems this platform doesn’t consider a seedling phase. That means I assume the plants germinated 3 weeks ago and can now handle a bit of fertilizer in the lean coco substrate. Hope that works. The humidity is suboptimal. If I turn on the humidifier more often (timer), it rises towards 90% with puddles on the floor. Right now it’s just over 50%. I still need to fine-tune that. I’ve hung a yellow sticker because I’ve experienced fruit flies trying to get to the sensitive roots in this early phase.

MrBanana After the small pots were well-rooted, I transplanted them into the larger pots. I adjusted the distance to the lamp. Now they're getting more nutrients. I'll start Low Stress Training very soon, but only for a short time because otherwise the stems get too hard and break (that happened to me last time).

MrBanana There are now a lot of fruit flies that I'm controlling with yellow sticky traps and today neem oil. The plant is growing very slowly. Much slower than I thought. Since my last three harvests of different strains were all hermaphroditic, even though I didn't make any major mistakes, I'm feeling pretty uncertain now. Do they look like girls??

I'm unsure about the gender and the growth size. Don't they grow a bit too slowly? And: My last three harvests were hermaphrodites :-(. Can you pros already tell the gender? Third question: do the leaves show any deficiency symptoms?

The sex is still not recognizable and the growth over the last 2 weeks is pretty okay. Transplanting slows things down. Also, you might want to try increasing the amount of water, that can definitely speed up growth, but be careful not to overwater. Otherwise, you'll have the opposite effect. The light amount is definitely fine. The damage is very low, so there are no deficiency symptoms of specific nutrients. I think they had a short dry phase and the lower leaves were cannibalized to stay healthy. If you have hermaphrodites, I wouldn't necessarily throw them away right away; if you check the plants regularly, you can manage it. The flowers take about 2-4 weeks to pollinate your plants, so you have time to remove them. Especially if they are your only plants and there's no risk of them pollinating several square meters of your harvest. Happy Growing Mate!

Hello MrBanana, Can not see the sex yet, need to start the flowering phase first. They grow great! Nice thick stem and large fan leaves. No there are NOT deficiencies visible. Happy Growing Buddy! 💚

No preflowers, yet, so you can't sex it using your eyes. if you are consistently getting herms, it could very well be self-inflicted. Ensure there are no light leaks during dark cycle -- it must be uninterrupted. Personal incredulity is irrelevant to the plant. i'd stop foliar spraying or whatever caused that standing water on your leaf. That's just a disease vector waiting to happen. LEaves look fine, but that's not hard early on. You see the ramifications of your fertilization methods after weeks and months... if it's a good equilibrium with growth, then you avoid buildups and deficiencies.. if you see these things that means the ratio or overall concentration of the nutes of out of balance relative to growth rate. the faster this stuff becomes apparent, the bigger the adjustment should be. That damage on lowest leaf may or may not be relevant. it oculd be too close to soil or touching it. even if not touching it the RH could be higher and impace transpiration of that 1 leaf etc etc.. plus it is older growth. The plant will sometimes shed shielded leaves. So, i'd watch how that damage progresses before reacting to it. If it never goes beyond that leaf, it's nothng to be concerned about. slim chance it's related to potassium being a bit low, but that would spread and move up the plant (mobile nutes start at bottom and progress upward)

MrBanana I've sent the three plants into the flowering phase now. Probably way too late, but it was too small. I actually wanted quick growth until harvest. I'm using yellow sticky traps and neem oil against the fruit flies. The bushy growth and the less pronounced smell make me skeptical: is it a fourth time in a row with seeds that herm? We'll see.

Hi this looks strange. I haven’t seen it like that before. What is it? Hopefully don’t become male?? The ladies haven’t a strong smell and a short bushy shape… Irritating.

Looks normal. Zero signs of sex showing, yet, so you have a 50% chance of being correct. smell in vege isn't always strong and doesn't mean it'll be non-aromatic in flower.

I agree with sweetberry. Only the bracts have formed so far, the bracts are the thin blades at the base of the leaf stem. There’s nothing visible to say male of female yet.

Hello MrBanana, Nothing weird to see on this picture buddy! The small lumps that you see are just the connection points between main stem and branches. The plant is preparing herself for heavy load buds on the branches. So she can provide you with big, fat and juicy buds! Happy Growing Buddy! 💚

MrBanana 3 plants growing in different heights. They have giant leaves and a strange built for my taste but I don’t really know because I never grew this stain before. Until last week I only did some LST but now cutting off some lower leaves for better circulation, though they have no buds yet. I think 82% humidity is too much. Should lower it somehow. They said it’s one of the fastest growing stains but somehow it’s not or I didn’t send the plants into flower early enough. Giant leaves like I didn’t have before

MrBanana In the last few weeks, the humidity has been lowered with two small dryers. There are a lot of fruit flies that were hardly eliminated with yellow stickers. -Next time: nematodes I have now stopped fertilizing after reaching the specified maximum dose. I wonder if I should flush now. My "paranoia" about hermaphroditism has probably been confirmed, right? I didn't notice any "bananas." There were also no pollen sacs. But now all the buds look like they contain nice fat seeds… ?!? The right plant takes longer, it's always annoying when drying is done in the same tent and cardboard has to be used.

I’ve two questions: Did my fear of getting hermies again (and again) come true? The buds look like as if there were huge seeds inside. The 2nd: should I get the nutrients out of the soil now? I always use rainwater for that and can’t do it more sophisticated with measuring asf

I agree with Organoman. Buds look normal and unseeded to me and way too early to start a flush. Your buds aren't even finished bulking up. Most flower cycles are 8 to 12 weeks, you're 3 weeks in and have minimum 5 weeks to go. Stopping now would be stopping feeding a 25yr old man because he's done growing... don't do that! :P

If there were seeds in the buds you pictured, the pistils would be well and truly brown by now........I do not think you have anything to be worried about, they certainly do not look seeded to me. You still have a while to go, starting a "flush" now would be a bit too early in my opinion.

MrBanana Because the leaves were still so green, I had already flushed against the recommendation. It should slowly be coming out; in any case, I'm not using it anymore. The left plant seems very ripe to me. Most of the hairs have turned brown. The equally aged sister on the right is at least 1-2 weeks behind, I think. As a Runtz newbie, I still don't have a feel for what the plant typically looks like; it seems a bit different from the widespread strains I've had before.

Hey guys thanks for your opinion on that and the (even) long comments! 🙏🏻 good to have some competent help growing. 😊 I set the growledex 150W on 70cm, bit lower than before. The ventilation is running (indirectly) and the stems vibrate a little. Think it will be fine 👋
