New cycle starting! I built myself new lights and a new tent because the structure of the old one was getting rusty after almost five years of use. It deserved a rest, lol. I got a Kingbrite P55 320W with 301H Evos for a nice price. Nothing can beat that price.
Let's see if it's reliable, my goal is to have even light distribution in my tent. Using quantum boards was a pain to distribute the light with small boards.
Looking forward that strain, I really enjoyed growing Double Grape last cycle and this one is a cross with Creme de la chem.
Week 1 is complete
I've been struggling with the high temperatures since summer began. Occasionally, the tent reaches 30 degrees, but the leaf temperature is around 23 degrees, which is acceptable.
I have ordered a new, more precise thermometer. Currently, I have one large and four smaller thermometers (all cheap ones) for measuring relative humidity, but each one shows a different temperature, which is driving me crazy.
Soil Mix:
80% Biobizz light-mix & 20% Perlite
50gr Startrex
50gr Silicium Flash
1gr Bactrex
5gr Mycotrex
This time, I will only insert the Bio Tabs after week 3. Last cycle, despite having success, I noticed some nutrient excess after inserting the first tab on day 7.
Week 3 Update!
There are no issues to report. She’s progressing quickly!
First feed today: 1g Bactrex + 1ml Orgatrex. Also introduced the first tab into the soil.
That’s it!
Week 4:
Yesterday, I inserted a new tab and added a small amount of Cal-Mag since she was showing some deficiency in the lower leaves but aside from that shes ok
also did some leaf tucking since she is bushy as hell
But ended up the deff is K, so i will brew some tea
That's it! :)
lost my battle she hermed, I will cut my losses and throw her away.
First herm in a long time, and looks like another is in the oven, fuck my life.
Still have 4 seeds, might try this lady in the future I will blame that failure 100% on the temperature tho I had grown in way worse conditions.
lost my battle with the hermaphrodite plant. I will cut my losses and get rid of it.
This is the first hermaphrodite I've had in years, and it looks like another one is developing on the tent. I'm really frustrated.
I still have 4 seeds left and might try growing this strain again in the future. I blame this failure entirely on the temperature (max 30 celsius), even though I have grown in much worse conditions before.
I thought I had everything dialed in: the VPD was on point, the lights were at a safe distance, and the DLI was kept 15% lower to avoid light burn since I got new, stronger lights. Last time, I added nutrients so soon, even though I put the tab in the soil on day 7 and still experienced some toxicity. Despite that, things went very well.
In years of growing, I never paid much attention to VPD and humidity. Every past grow (except the last 2 ones) I literally just made sure the temperature never surpassed 30 degrees, and it always worked. Now that I have way more knowledge, things sometimes still fail xD'
The only thing I really changed was the light schedule from 20 to 18 to help with the heat, but I doubt this is the cause.
Agree with the others .. very sad. Came here after my harvest to see how yours were doing ... so sorry to see! I've only had one plant turn hermie, and it was definitely due to a change/interruption in the light cycle. I think that's probably the touchiest part of autos - from what I'm seeing (limited experience, so have no certainty). Regardless, I mainly wanted to encourage you to try again with this strain - the smoke is definitely worth it! Best of luck on all grows, cheers!
@Biotabs, Yeah, indeed. Next summer, I will choose mainly sativas. The two sativa-dominant plants I have now are quite enjoying the ride.
You are always welcome and 5 stars!
