Hi there ! 👋
this is my first photoperiodic grow.
I grew a few strains autoflowers in the past and now i am very curious what the requirements of regular plants are :)
General
-----------
1. Feeding
I am using BioBizz together with their feeding schedule, since this has worked perfectly for my autoflower grows in the past and i hope it will also work for photoperiodic plants.
2. Soil
I am starting with Floragard "biological starter earth" and will use BioBizz LightMix with/for every repotting. I like the idea of having the full control of what i feed at every time and not mixing my fertilizer (water) with strongly pre-fertilized earth to not overfeed the plants.
3. Procedure
At the beginning 👻the plan was 👻 to grow the seeds in my Romberg greenhouse , because it has high humidity and is able to heat the container on it.
I quickly realized that its not necessary to use the greenhouse in my current environment, since the humidity in my plant room was already high enough (around 70% humidity in the "seed corner" and constantly 27 degrees because of the SANSI 36 W LIGHT).
Since some of them grew relatively large in a short amount of time (light was on point so i guess this was quite normal) i put some small climbing aids into a few of the pots, to stabilize the plant(s).
Seeds
-----------
Put all seeds into a moist paper towel and kept it moist.
The seeds were standing in a glass cabine with constantly 25 degrees and 70%+ humidity barely without any light.
7/7 Skunk #1 Automatics popped up.
2/3 Critical Seeds popped up.
3/3 White Widow Seens popped up.
After Germination (15.05.2024 - XXX)

Most of the seeds popped up and started their life over earth above ground in a small plastic pot 3 days after setting up the seeds into the towel.
After popping they were set up under a 36 W Sansi Light for the whole seedling stage around 👉 250 PPFD 👈.
Soil
----------
The soil was Floragard Organic Soil Aromatic
Watering
-----------
They got watered frequently when the soil felt "dry" with 100% of the time 👌BIO BIZZ ROOT JUICE 👌 . I am not able to determine the amount of water precisely, since i am doing this "by feeling". I got an soil moisture tester if i am unsure about the "wetness" of the pot, but mostly i am going by the rule : The top my dry a bit (roots need air) and then give it a good watering without any drain.
General
--------
All plants moved from the plant room into the 80x80 box onto a 👌 heating mat 👌 (and got repotted). From my experience this is 😍 HUGHLY😍 increasing the growspeed of the roots and in combination with BioBizz root juice it should absolutely BANG !
Potting/Repotting
----------
Criticals and Widows were repotted into a 2 LITER Gronest fabric pot.
The goal was intentionally to repot them into 3 LITER Gronest TRANSPLANTER pots (velcro fastening at the side 🙌 for easy repotting) , but they did not arrive in time. 😟
They were repotted from 👉2 Liter Gronest fabric 👈 into 👉3 Liter Gronest transplanter fabric pots 👈 at 30.05.2024.
5 of the 7 #1 SKUNK Auto seeds went straight into 11 Liter Pots and were left outside alone (outdoor grow, not my business) and 2 of the #1 SKUNK Auto seeds went into 4 Liter Gronest Pots and straight into the grow tent, since the owner (not me) had no 11 Liter pots left.
😔There are no pictures of the Auto seeds in this stage !!! 😔
👉 Skipped Week 2-4 👈 in the diary.
Mainly just watered them and started early with LST from week 2-4.
The arrangement shown in the screenshots is the final form.
2x Critical and 2x White Widow will grow in the 80x80 tent and 1x White Widow + 2x #1 Skunk Auto will have to make do with the 60x60 tent.
Height

I am not able to determine the height of the plants, since they got LST done the whole time.
(Re-)Potting
----------
All plants got repotted into 8 liter GRONEST fabric replanter pots.
They will end up in 11 Liter Gronest fabric pots as their final home in a few weeks.
I repotted the autoflowers exactly like the regular plants:
2/3 Liter fabric pots - 8 Liter fabric pots - 11 Liter fabric pots
Grow technique = LST & Defoliation

Since the plants got low stress trained with specific LST plastic clips, the plants are relatively flat. I tried to break the apex domination of the plant (christmas tree form) and bended them down.
(At first i tried to use the RQS clips for LST, but found out, that regular cheap ones from ebay are doing their job better.)
I am doing this technique for the first time and so i realized, that i had to defoliate some of the bigger leaves, which were hindering the "blooms" from receiving enough light/any light. I tried to only get rid of 5-6 leaves per plant while doing this but it could have happened that i was cutting like around 8 of them, if it was necessary.
I am doing 👉CONSTANTLY 👈 LST and bending "blooms" down if necessary, to get an even canopy. This involves daily looking after the plants and seeing if that is necessary (which is normally always the case 😅)
Nutrients
----------
I started to feed them in week 3 following the BIO BIZZ nutrient scheme, which is 2 ml Bio heaven + 2 ml Bio grow per Liter water (+ 4 ml root juice per liter water). They are getting these nutrients with every watering. The autoflowers are getting the same amount of nutrients as the regular plants (lets see how this works out).
I am currently asking myself :
1. How long shall i keep them in vegetation ( Widow + Critical)(80x80, 11l fabric, 4 plants). I was scrolling through other diaries of the same strains and i got the feeling that something around 6-8 vegetation weeks is the normal way to go. 😮
Update day 41 :
The plan for this week is to repot all plants from 8 Liter into 11 Liter final fabric grow pots (around TU or WD since i just dunked them and they shall dry down a bit beforehand) and continue using LST on them and only a few defoliations.
After this week they will get one more (or 1/2 week) so that they can fill out the new 11 Liter pot, getting cleared (defoilated) a bit more and then move to 12/12 light schedule for flowering.
This would totally leave them for 1 Week in germination + 7 weeks of Vegetation, before moving them into flower.
Update day 46 :

All feminized Plants got transplanted from 8 Liter fabric transplanter pots to their final 11 Liter fabric pots.
All feminized Plants got dunked with the regular BioBizz vegetation formula.
All feminized Plants got still bended down (LST).
All feminized Plants got defoliated , if necessary. This means that leaves got removed, which were covering up blossoms and preventing them from getting light and also removing leaves and blossoms which would never reach the canopy.
SWITCHING to 12/12 with the next day (first day of week 7) .. see you in pre-blossom 😊
This week will be the first week of 12/12 . Lets see what will happen ! 👻
- Switched from tap water to 👉osmose water 👈.
Therefore the water is getting + 0,5ml per Liter water Canna CalMag Agent as addition to the regular fertilizer .
- 👉PPFD value is currently set to around 600 👈, which makes an DLI value of around 26 .
I am planing to adjust the value slowly (around 50 PPFD per week of bloom) till the plants reach around 900 PPFD , which is equal to around a DLI value of 39-40.
The lights are hanging around 30cm (60x60) and 40cm (80x80) above the plants, so that the plants don't get sunburned 👺😎
Update Day 51 :
- New pictures available !!!
- I switched the 4 (2 per box)"hanging down 120m pc case ventilators" for 2 (1 in each box) Spider Farmer 6-inch Clip Fans ( oscilating, ec-motors) to improve the airflow.
- The plants (non auto) are getting continuously bend down (LST), if a branch is trying to 👹 break out of the canopy 👹.
Week 2 Bloom started
New Week .. 🔥New tent🔥(80x80 + 60x60 - 200x100x200)
2 days until the new grow lights are arriving (150w+200w - 🔥2x 320w Kingbrite🔥)
Update 10.7.24 :
Watered all plants today (top watering).
The fem plants (11 L Pots) got 3 Liter fertilized water and the Autos (8 L Pots) got 2.5 Liter fertilized water each. They all got around 3/4 of the suggested BioBizz feeding plan.
Update 11.07.24 :
The new growlights arrived Yesterday )🔥2x 320w Kingbrite🔥). They got set to 800-900 umol and 90% with a distance of roughly 40cm above the canopy.
They are producing more heat than the old ones and the outside temperatures we're sadly also rising.
The temperatures in the grow box we're rising to a critical value of around 30 degrees while the lights were on and even though i set my exhaust air and the 2 fans in the box to a higher level, that doesnt change anything.
What i finally did to lower the temperatures in the box:
Exchanging my 12/12 light cycle from day/night to night/day. This should lead to more equal temperatures between night and day, but most important.. lower the degrees when its warm outside at day,so that (ofc depending in the weather outside) i can maybe lower the temperatures to around 26-27 degrees, which would be fine.
The big downside will be, that i will be only able to Work on the plants between 10 pm ans 10 am.
Update 12.07.24:
All plants got dunked today as they were nearly dry already, even though i watered them (3 Liter per plant) only 2 days ago + they have not seen any light for 24 hours, at around 26 degrees and a humidity of around 55%. Thats around 2,5 Liter of water within 48 hours . 1 + Liter a day per plant/day. Quite a Lot and they just moved to bloom :x

-Feed with osmose water , calmag and the usual Biobizz nutrients at 1350 ppm (~66% suggested amount). 3 Liter per plant.
-All plants got lollipopped today (around 30-40% of their height). The Skunk #1 Autoflowers needed barely any lollipopping.

Update 24.07.2024 :
Bad start into the week because of a spider mite infestation. A lot of sun leaves had to be trimmed away because of that and the predatory mites have been ordered already. Washed the leaves and sprayed with neem oil, which should have happened way earlier than 3th week of flower and more often

Watering ~3 Liter per plant with fertilizer. Should have watered 1 day earlier since a few leaves were already hanging down.
Update 25.07.2024:
600 predatory mites of the genus Phytoseiulus persimilis have arrived and have been released.
Unfortunately, the environmental conditions had to be changed for the predatory mites. The temperature had to be adjusted to 22-25 degrees and the humidity increased from 60% to 75-80%.
Update 28.07.2024:
Watering ~3 Liter per plant with fertilizer.

I hope this week will have a better start, since the last infestation week wasnt that optimal. Thank god, the plants have still some weeks to go and time to recover.

Added a different species of predatory mites to push the propagation Speed

Update 03.08.2024 :
The two Skunk #1 Autoflowers got flushed with Canna Flush, since they are already starting to get bronze colored trichomes (like 5%, very low amount) and were watered with fertilizer one time too often/too late. After they have dried , they will get cut off in a few days 😫😭
Update 04.08.2024 :
The predatory mites we're Not able to Stop the spider mites from reaching the buds of a plant so i went the hard way and sprayed everything away with 2 Liter a non chemical removable spray.
Plants also got watered 4 Liter each.
Autoflowers got of course not watered any longer.

The last week(s) were pretty annoying to be honest.
The spider mite plague has cost a lot of nerves. After the first batch of predatory mites was unable to stop the spider mites and they spread to the flowers, we had to intervene. All plants were thoroughly treated from above and below with Neudorff Neudosan Fruit and Vegetable PestFree (Ideal for use with fruit, vegetables and herbs +
No waiting time before fruits, vegetables and herbs can be eaten).
A day later, the second load of predatory mites was applied, which are now happily doing their work.
Update 06.08.2024
Watering the plants with the default water 4 Liter per plant + fertilizer after BioBizz Scheme. Since its osmose water it gets +0,6ml/l Cal Mag (Canna) in addition.

Update 15.08.2024 :
The temperatures were pretty high in the tent due to the weather outside. When awake, the temperatures have been around 29-31 degrees . The plants/leaves are also showing stress signs, as the pictures show.
Also due to the high temperatures i had to water them without fertilizer (2 Liter each plant + Cal/Mag), since they are drinking that much water, so that it would be too much fertilizer for every watering session.

Update 18.08.2024:
I was so focused on the autoflowers , checking their trichomes and getting them onto the drying rack, that i totally missed out on checking the widows and criticals.
When i was checking them yesterday on day 96, 5-20% of their trichomes were already amber colored. I did not expect that at all, since they should normally last a little bit longer, especially the widows ( 8-10 weeks bloom).
I flushed them all with canna flush and around 2 liters of water each.They will only get water this week and then
they will all go down after this week, i guess 🔪💀🙈
Update 19.08.2024:
Watered each plant with 2,5 Liter osmose water with adjusted PH to 6.2.
Update 24.08.2024 (Last day of bloom week 7):
Tent is quote empty since the criticals are in the rack, drying. The 3 remaining Windows are getting watered with osmose water (ph adjusted) every 2-3 days with around 2-3 Liter. Their time will come soon too.
👉Harvested at 22.08.2024 , wich was Day 99 and nearly week 8 of Bloom done .👈
15-20% of the trichomes were amber colored already.
I cut off the plants and due to some spider mites still living on the blooms/leaves they got the following treatment:
1.) They got flushed (sprayed) with Neudosan Fruit & Vegetable PestFree after cutting them
2.) 3 hours after spraying them with Neudosan Fruit & Vegetable PestFree they got showered completely
3.) They are now hanging on the drying rack with a fan on low speed (very low), so that they dry down a bit more quick at the beginning, to get the water of the flushing/showering out
4.) Temperature drying room : 20 degrees
5). Humidity in the drying room slightly below 60% at around 58%
Average yield due to spidermite infection and no good recovery from that (the widows on the other hand were recovering perfectly easy).
The resistance of the plants was very low.
Wouldn't grow this strain again.
