I acquired this plant on the June 3 - and guessing it was about 3 weeks old at that point.
First Barney's Farm this year - another reliable breeder that's always given me nice results in the past - also the first photo-period :)
Had a lovely run of weather this week - but now the crazy temps look like they're here to stay.
Plant is looking healthy and sturdy - she's really stretching out. I suspect it's going to be a LOT of very small/medium buds on this one - if I don't do some defoliation.
Added a couple more nutrients: Bud Candy and Alg-a-Mic (I had them lying around from last year)
This was probably the last 'normal' week with ideal conditions.
Now it's soaring up to 38C and roasting hot.
Going to try and invest in a shade cloth for the first time, fingers crossed it actually works.
On reflection, this is still better than previous grows. If I had started earlier (I usually start late April outdoors - this year was late May start) then I would have caught a LOT of bad weather - lots of cold and lots of rainfall.
Just need to keep them cooler somehow.
Added two new nutrients to the kitchen sink - Jungle Juice and Top Max - just stuff lying around from last year. Given that I have bombarded them daily with all sorts of nutrients, I am not seeing anything remotely like nutrient burn, etc. They all look great.
Blue Gelato is just sitting there, watching over everything - will be the last to go this year.
Only one other photo-period to contend with - popped a two year old pack of Sweet Amnesia Haze. 3 attempted, only 1 germinated.
Added Rhino Skin, supposed to help with heat stress.
Temps - boiling. 37 degrees and no end in sight.
This towering beast is doing well, it's probably going to be a crazy yield - just hope the quality is there too :)
This was recommended by a local grow shop - one of their cuttings.
Handling the heat well - mostly shaded whenever possible.
Needs some serious defoliation, need to do it before it's too late - it's a jungle in there :)
Another week, another bushy plant :)
She needs some serious defoliation before she goes into flower - been meaning to do it, just need to actually do it :)
She's looking big!
Another week, another Blue Gelato.
All good, smooth grow and plant is doing great.
Not much to report, just watering/feeding as usual.
Tough plant that's handling the heat well :)
Really slow start to flowering - it IS flowering... I think? :)
Apart from that, a regular week with not much to report - let's hope she picks up some speed.
Another week. very slow start to flowering - compared to the fast versions the difference is a good two weeks behind.
Looking okay but the roots are waterlogged and the bud formations lean towards lots (and lots) of small popcorn bugs with no big colas. Exactly the same as a photo-period O.M.G. I grew last year the looked identical. It must be the time+high temperatures combined. Still, I can always turn into bubble hash.
The heat has well and truly gone now and it's pure survival mode - the temps are very cold and lots of rain - which could destroy all of these plants. Fingers and toes very much crossed from here to mid-October.
