For this grow I'll be using coco coir for the first time with Terra Aquatica tripart + TA calmag + TA Silicate and TA pro roots.
The coco I'll be using comes as a brick (5kg - 70L). To prepare the coco I watered half of the block to let it expand, then it was all rinsed with tap water (~0.4EC) thru a kitchen pasta rinser. Then I placed the coco in 4 diferent 3 gal fabric pots used in the last grow. This 3 gal pots were then placed inside a 60L plastic box in order to buffer the coco.
The coco was buffered with a solution of 2ml of TA CalMag per liter of water. It took ~18L of solution to fill the box.
The first period of buffering took 16 hours. After the 16h of buffering I refilled the box with a fresh solution, same as before, that stayed for another 26 hours. In total the coco was submerged for 42 hours in the CalMag solution in order to buffer.
07/06/2024 - The 3 white widow seeds were placed in a glass of bottled water until they sunk to the bottom.
After ~5 hours in the glass of water the seeds sunk and I tranfered them to a wet paper towel inside a plastic bag in a dark place (T ~20 ºC)
10/06/2024 - All the seeds popped open, tho 1 was faster than the others. Transfered the seeds to the small pot with coco/pertile (70/30) with a DIY humidity dome. Watered with a solution of bottled water + calmag + pro roots (2 drops per Liter).
14/06/2024 - Only one seed emerged from the medium, the faster one.
Week from 14/06 to 20/06
18/06/2024 - Feed first time with nutrients! Irrigated with 50ml and had runoff at 40ml. Here is the recipe: 1ml of CalMag, 0.5 ml of micro, grow and bloom, adjusted pH to around 6.0 and then added 2 drops of pro roots. The preparation of the solution was made in this order. EC of inicial water (0.3 to 0.4), EC of final mix (0.8 to 0.9). To measure pH I used the drop terra aquatica pH test kit, since my hanna pH pen broke down :/
In the previous week on day 18/6 was prepared a mix that was used during this week.
Decided on 24/6 that from now on I'll try a high frequency fertigation, explained in cocoforcannabis.com. For now, I'm sticking with 1 fertigation per day, I'm thinking about building an automatic watering system to help raise the frequency of fertigation and reduce labour.
Watering record:
24/6 - Watered with unknown quantity
25/6 - Watered with 55ml of solution. Got 22ml of runoff with an EC of 0.7
26/6 - Watered with 35ml of solution. Got 10ml of runoff with an EC from 0.8 up to 1.1
27/6 - Prepared new solution: With 2L of tap water (EC~0.5), added 0,8g of Silicate (4g/10L), 3ml CalMag (1.5ml/L), 2.4ml Micro (1.2ml/L), 3,6 Grow (1,8ml/L), 1,2 Bloom (0,6ml/L), the EC of this solution was between 1.1 and 1.3. In order to lower the EC to around 1, diluted the solution adding 0.5L of tap water (EC 1 to 1.1). Then pH was tested and lowered to 6.2. Finally, added 5 drops of pro roots (2drop/L).
27/6 - Watered with 1L of the new solution (The new coco from transplant was dry). Got 350ml of runoff with EC of 1.0
During this week spoted what might be the beggining of a CalMag deficiency, the first true leaves began twisting. So on the 27/6 solution I raised the CalMag concentration from 1ml/L to 1.5ml/L (in reality after the dilution is 1,2 ml/L) and tried to get the pH as close to 6.2.
I think the plants are enjoying this transition to watering them everyday and seem to be growing faster :)
Will probably top her next week, still haven't decided if going to mainline, manifold or just ScrOG her but anyway she will have to grow enought to fill out the entire tent!

At day 04/07 the mix I had prepared at day 3 was lower in EC than before (~1.0). I think my EC meter is not giving me consistent readings. Might be a problem in the future. Because of this I'll continue to fertigate with low doses of nutrients and pay attention to the plants reaction more than the EC values. I'll try to solve this and also build an automatic fertigation and runoff colector system so that I can fertigate more often.
I think she is ready to be topped :) Will do it in the next 1 to 2 days.
