starting week 2 Everything looks good. Just a little water. Day 10: took everything out of the tent and cleaned up the walls and floor. Tied up the wiring a bit better and everything is ship shape The 3 new ladies are doing well. The clone is still alive and flowering, but doesn't look like it will do anything else. starting to look like a big bud. I'll give it another week, then pull it. Pulled the clone, it looked like a bud and never really grew. I'll dry it and see if it has anything. Day 14: All is well, all 3 plants are doing well, starting to create the inner leaves. Pulled out the "flowering" clone. I'll dry it and see if there is anything there.

Day 16 All is well, just light and water I will be transplanting them to final pots in a day or two so I can start training. Day 19 ** Added nukes Getting a bid of Calcium deficiency (brownish/yellow spots on the leaves). I added a cap full of Dr. Earth tea and will monitor. This is my 3rd grow, and saw a little of cal deficiency at the end of the 2nd grow. Will start using the Dr. Earth tea on a regular basis.

Day 22 ** two caps of Dr. Earth tea 1/2 liter of water for each plant Calcium issue seems to be clearing up. Top leaves look good. Raised light to about 28" to see if these will stretch a bit before topping and training. Decided to top and defoliate and set it up for LST Mainline. took the toppings and attempting to clone. Clipped them back, cut the stem at a 45 degree and added some honey to the stem and planted them in a small pot of well watered soil. Will check them in 7 to 10 days to see if they are rooting.

Week 5 - Day 29 Start of week 5, yesterday I staked all three plants and finished defoliating. All three have responded well. I will top again in a day or so, re-stake, then final top to get the 8 colas. I'll add a ring support for each plant, then go to a 12/12 lighting schedule. I turned on the 26w LED to add some heat and additional light. A little cool in the closet and temp has fallen below 80 in the tent. With 3 plants and some clones in this small tent, I am getting a bit of smell. Will investigate an exhaust fan and filter, thought it is still not bad. Day 31 All is good, Axillary buds are starting to fill out and stretch. As soon as they get big enough I will do the last topping and set up for the flowering stage. Added 2 caps of tea for each plant and a sip of water to help soak it in. A few of the clones I did look good, look like they are growing. I'll give them a few more day before disturbing them.

Grow Questions

closetGrowstarted grow question 6 years ago
I am attempting to mainline again. My first time was not too successful, but it worked out OK. The question is: Should I remove the fan leaves at this point? I did that on the last topping and it seemed to accelerate the growth, but not sure if these are big enough. thanks

hey CG, you want to leave them on , if you remove them the plant will make more of them anyway instead of growing. looks like you're heading for a good flux , as it is. growing is basically doing the bare minimum not to hinder a healthy plant. Less touching = more smoking. Does that make sense ? hope this helps ! 🚀

Week 6 Day 42 Had some munching on the Blue Monkey. I tried spraying with a diluted dish soap and may have 'burned' the leaves a bit. Over all, the plants look good and healthy, but a few of the leaves are a little brownish. I got some Dr. Earth pest spay and also spayed all the plants down with just water to clean everything off of them. Haven't seen anymore munching, but will stay observant. The plants are all setting up for 4 coda grows. I think I will leave them and not top them again. Plant to turn the lighting schedule to 12/12 at then end of this week and apply some rings to keep the codas from falling over. Day 47 over the last few days I have seen leaves yellowing and turning brown, some on the tips, but some over the entire leave. I flushed each plant, defoliated the bottom leaves where most of the yellowing was, then added Dr. Earth tea. Concerned about the Blue Monkey especially, as it seems to be the worse. The tops look good, but some of the lower leaves are turning yellow.

Week 7 After some more serious issues with Cal Mag deficiency, I think the girls are coming back. * Added Cal Mag + ( sprayed some on the leaves and added 5ml/gal for watering) * I defoliated the bottom leaves that were yellow or dying. some damage to the tops of the Kush, but they are looking better I decided to stay with 4 codas instead of trying 8. The girls just don't seem up to it. * I moved to a 12/12 light schedule and hoping to see some flowering soon. Smell is getting stronger so may invest in a small fan/filter system. *** Lessons learned: in the 2 x 2 x 4 tent I should probably stay with only two plants, gets crowded fast and the smell is elevated. The next grow will be a single plant and take a clipping to create a clone. This really is all I need. Have to become more educated with Nutrients and how to be more observant to deficiencies. The Cal Mag issue really seemed to hurt growth and I'm now playing catch up. Also, I will do a simple "bend over" LST instead of getting fancy with mainlining. I had good results with this method in the 2nd grow. Should have stuck with it. Thanks for those that diagnosed the cal mag problem. My first two grows I didn't have any issues.

Week 8 Day 57 * Cleaned the tent out and wiped everything down with bleach solution. Had quite a bit of little flying bugs, maybe mites, they looked like fruit flies. * Sprayed everything down with Dr. Earth Final Stop pest spray (active ingredients are herbal oils) * Trimmed some of the dead leaves off the bottom of all the plants and added some soil to bring it up to the pot lip. * Inspected the plants, but don't see any infestation. The girls are looking better, but not 100%. Went on 12/12 light schedule last week, but still don't see any pre-flowering ??? sprayed the girls with Final Stop turned on the 36Watt lamp to augment the 150w UFO LED left the tent open a bit so it doesn't get too warm (the two lights easily push the temp over 85 F) making some cages to separate and support the codas as they get taller. All seems well.

Week 9 Day 61 All is well Growth was stunted by the Cal Mag issue, but they are looking much better. The Cal Mag + has turned the girls around. Still showing some brown/yellow leaves but the new growth is a deep green and seeing some pre-flowering on all plants. I had hoped to harvest this grow by next week, but, now will have to wait another 2, maybe 3 weeks. The smell has gotten strong and the wife is starting to complain. ** The clone I took 5 or 6 weeks ago has suddenly started to grow ???? All the other ones died. Still very small (4 or 5 inches), but filling out. Day 66 All is well, added the 38Watt light to the mix because it has been cool, even in the house. The other light also helps raise the temp a bit. Adjusted the light heights to optimize for the plant height. About 8" Defoliated below now that all plants have risen above the matrix. All plants are beginning to flower and are looking healthy. Sprayed with Dr. Earth pest spray. Growth as picked up and have them on an "every other day" watering schedule (about 2 cups of water w/ Cal Mag +) ** the clone is really picking up now. At one point I almost threw it out, but now it looks very good and getting taller. I originally tried to clone all three plants, but this is the only one that rooted and grew. ** Bought a power meter (Amazon - about $14). Checked my tent and with a small fan, 38Watt LED, 150Watt UFO LED it is only pulling .87 amp. Very economical and stealthy grow.

Week 10 everything looks OK, but some splotches on some of lower leaves I have defoliated up to the matrix buds are starting to form Have stopped all Cal Mag + and Dr. Earth tea Will stay with straight water (about 2 cups every-other-day) Notes: **** My plans are to harvest this grow at the end of the month, but I really haven't seen the growth that I had in the last grows, so, we'll see. These are different strains than I have used in the past, not auto flower. Three plants on this grow (only two in the past grows) Experienced Cal Mag issues that slowed the progress. Note to self: I should plan out the next grow, (nukes, pots, light, etc.) not just throw seeds in a pot and go. 😊
