Small Stealth Desk Grow

Trying to make a cheap small stealth grow in my computer desk side cupboard. The cupboard is: 35cm wide, 45cm high and 45cm deep. With the drawer above holding the 300w LED light. I have knocked out the back of the drawer and added a USB computer fan to help cool the LED Light. I made a custom box to put into the cupboard out of reflective material just using a glue gun and some Velcro to hold it together. The seed went into a glass of normal tap water on the evening of 06/12/2018 then left in a warm cupboard. It germinated by the morning of 09/12/2018. I then transferred it into a pot filled with Cocolite 22. The pot was simply the bottom of a soda bottle with some holes in the bottom to drain water out of. The big bottle in the cupboard just has water in it. The tap water at the moment is very cold and to avoid shocking the roots i have placed the water bottle in the cupboard with it. The power draw from the 300w Kingbo LED Light: Veg (Blue Light) 54.4W Bloom (Red Light) 65.1W Both on(Purple Light) 119W These Watt do constantly vary by 1 or 2 Watts. I plan to just use the Blue light on 18 hours a day for the Vegetation period, then both on for 12 hours a day for the flowering period. The Nutrients ill be using are: Canna Coco A and B Cal Mag

I started this week off by replanting into the bigger pot. I think that was a bit too quick, i could of waited another week. The plant pot was another home made item for this project. I made this shape because height is a real issue with this grow. So i am hoping that having a larger tray will compensate for the lack of pot height. I put plenty of holes in the bottom to help with drainage. As well as some in the sides to allow me to tie down the plant easier. The plant pot is 30cm wide, 40cm long and 10cm high, which makes it a 12L pot. There wasn't much growth in the first half of the week and a only a little bit in the second half. Half way through this week i added the half cut Coke bottle to try and help bring the humidity up because it was a bit low. So between that and using spray bottles to water the plant i managed to get it back up to a level that i was happy with. But in turn this was making the leaves stay very wet from the water droplets falling off the top of the bottle, so ill see next week but i might remove the bottle once it starts growing quickly.

For this week only i decided to up the watts from 150 to 300 by having both lights on (red and blue). i did this to hopefully get the plant growing a bit quicker due to the previous week being so slow. I kept the nutrients to a 1ml each per Liter of water. No issues with leaf colour for this week.

This week the stealth factor of this build was put to use with family members down for the Christmas break. Glad to say it work very well but i have fears for when she starts to bloom and smell. I managed to get some time near the end of the week to top the plant but i would have liked to have done it a few days earlier if i had been able to take it out of its hiding place. I have raised the nutrients back up to 1.5ml per liter each for this week and it has seem to be fine. No more damage on the leaves. We are back on to 150w lights for this week after having the boost of 300w last week. It growing nice and fast now.

The only issue this week was that i noticed a couple new leaves that had burnt tips on day 34. I'm pretty sure this is down to nutrient burn again. So for the last day i added a bit more water to the mix. This will be the last week i have the plant on 18 hours light a day. I'm going to be on 12 hours a day from now on. This bread of seed apparently grows a lot still after changing the light cycle. I have been trying to keep the plant tied down this week. Going to have to keep it as low as possible for as long as possible.

This week i have swapped the lights to 12 hours a day on 300w. It will carry on with this lighting schedule for the rest of the diary. There hasn't been any issues with the plant this week. It has been growing very well and has started to have a light smell coming from it especially noticeable at night when the lights are off. I am definitely going to have to look into building a carbon filter for the back of the cupboard.

The grow was a bit colder this week due to the weather but it doesn't seem to have affected it at all. It has been just steadily just growing all week. Looks like it is finally going into flower. I will remove some of the lower fan leaves and just defoliate at the start of the next week. I will also add some more Coco because over the last month the current coco has compressed quite a lot and you can see some root at the surface.

At the start of this week i removed some of the lower fan leaves and add more soil to the tray where it had compressed over the last few weeks. I also removed all the string that was currently being used to tie down the plant and replaced them with pipe cleaners. They just seem to do a better job and a lot easier. As far as problems this week i don't think there has been any and she is nicely coming into the flowering period. The leaf colour looks fine to me so i'm just going to continue with current nutrient setup and hope no problems occur. I have made a scrog for the plant to grow into. After i had finished making it, i now realize it might be too high above the plant but i'm going to leave it for a week and see how quick it will still grow in the flowering period.

This week the stealth of the grow got put into use again and because of this she got under watered for a couple days but she has recovered fine and is growing really well this week, This is my first time growing but i'm still really impressed on how quickly the bud is growing right now. Each day you can see the growth difference. I'm very impressed with it so far and cant wait to see how she turns out in a few weeks time.

Nothing much to report this week. She is growing well still and is already poking through the netting. Really would of liked to have Nutrient Boost for this last month or so but ill have to get some for the next grow. Hoping she will bulk out a bit more before the end. I definitely got the weeks that she went into flowering wrong. I have got it down as week 8 but from what i have seen from other diaries it should have been more around 6 or 7 but there doesn't seem a easy way to change that. I just put this down to being a novice and not really know what the first signs of flowering are.

Nothing bad has happened this week. :) I have increased the nutrients slightly this week because she is getting nice and big now so hoping it will help it keep her growing well. A couple of the hairs are now turning from white to brown but the trichomes are still transparent. Waiting from them to go cloudy before flushing.

No growing issues this week. She has a real sweet plant smell at the moment and doesn't smell too much like cannabis. She has also bulked out really nicely. I took down the Scrog a couple days from the end of this week because it started to come apart from the edge of my plant pot and the bud was growing around some of the string. I'm not sure how long she has left till i need to flush her but i'm probably going to start flushing within the next week. Some of the hairs have started going brown and the trichomes range from transparent to amber on some of the sugar leaves. If anyone has any idea how long till i need to wait till i do a 1 week flush please comment below. I'm unsure of how long it will take for the hair and trichomes to change. Its a strong indica plant 80/20 so i'm going to harvest when the hairs are about 70/80% brown.

Very happy with this grow, especially seeing it was my first i thought id be lucky to get 1 ounce from the plant dry and nearly getting 2 was amazing even with binning the biggest 2. I did not include the weight of the 2 i binned on either the wet or dry weight. About 3 days from the end of my flush i noticed white fuzzy type stuff on the biggest bud, which i could only work out to be either a white fuzz mold or spider mites, either way i knew i had to cut them off straight away and try to save the rest. Luckily i caught it in time and only have to destroy the biggest 2. I thoroughly checked the rest with clean gloves before weighing and letting to dry. I would happily grow this strain again. It is very much a couch lock weed. You smoke this and you are not moving for a good long time.
