High_And_Hydro Since day 21, I've been cutting off a leaf every day to make room for the side shoots or to get rid of old leaves. Then I lowered the EC a bit and left out the Canna Boost since they look a bit crinkled. Especially the Chemdawg has suffered a bit from that, but it also looked a bit small, dark, and the stems a bit reddish from the start. But it’s growing, even though it's a bit over-fertilized, I’ll let it stay for now. If any further signs of a bad outcome show up, I might have to start something new, which would be quite inconvenient, but still possible. Check out my YouTube channel and leave a subscription, because there you'll find moving pictures and I'll explain what I'm doing there. 👍 Happy growing Channel link: https://youtube.com/@high-and-hydro

High_And_Hydro I defoliated a bit more on days 28 and 29. You can see exactly how on my YT channel, where I explained the whole thing, why and how I do it, since my technique is quite unusual. Other than that, I can only say that they are taking off like rockets and it's a huge amount of fun to watch them grow. 💪

High_And_Hydro The OG Kush ... no words, it speaks for itself 😁 The Tangie doesn't really want to stretch and prefers to produce leaves and stems. It could turn out to be a late bloomer like the Runtz last year, but for now, it's the smallest. The Chemdawg has caught up well, but I haven't been able to get rid of the dark color so far, even though it's getting a significantly lower EC than the others and I've also reduced nitrogen quite a bit. Even when I cut off the dark leaves, the new ones grow back dark. But since it's now growing at a normal speed, I'll just keep it on a diet, that's how it is. Otherwise, the scrogging continues and the daily leaf mass that needs to be removed is clearly increasing. 💪😁👍

High_And_Hydro They are in the flowering stage and the OG Kush is stacking excellently. It's almost outgrowing the Tangie now, and I'm trying to train it a bit around the little one. The Chemdawg has also gained quite a bit and is now significantly larger than the Tangie. The Tangie itself is probably either a super late bloomer or it didn't handle defoliation very well. However, it's also clearly behind the others at this stage and is still getting Vegi NL. But it's slowly starting to stack, so I will switch the NL in the next 2-3 days as well. I have to defoliate and cut side branches every day now since there's no more space. I think I can only fit 1-2 plants in there in the future; more just won't fit. I think I need another tent...😆

High_And_Hydro On days 49 and 50, they each got a proper defoliation and some side branches had to go. Otherwise, my nutrient situation seems to be working pretty well. I'm definitely satisfied and have already learned a ton in this grow. The only concern I have is the humidity, as they are now entering the flowering stage. I already have a dehumidifier set up that can handle 16 liters/day. On day 55, I'm struggling with the height. To address this, I wedged a yogurt bucket between the frame above the exhaust and the tent roof to gain about 20cm on the left side. Then I stretched a wire over the top and placed the lights on top of it on the left side. Some branches were still too long, so I bent them a bit and redistributed them to the right. That created about 10cm of extra space in a few spots.

High_And_Hydro The tent is bursting at the seams and I've been defoliating like crazy over the last few days. The EC is hovering between 3 and 4, but it can spike up to 4.3 or drop down to 2.8 overnight. I have a feeling that she's drinking a bit less now, which is most likely due to the significantly reduced leaf mass. You can already see all the little hedgehogs, and the OG is also producing an insane amount of trichomes on the leaves. This is going to be amazing!!! 😍 The Chemdawg might look a bit smaller in comparison, but it's taken up 1/3 of the tent and has very short internodes. I'm sure it's going to deliver extremely well! 💪😄👍

High_And_Hydro I've removed the phosphorus in the last few days and replaced it with mono potassium, as well as calmag with mono calcium, to lower the magnesium level. I also built a tool to better match the quantities with each other. Now I can better assess the ratios and also see which nutrient manufacturer does what exactly in which phase. With every change, I can immediately see if I'm creating a large imbalance or just making slight adjustments. The result is still open, as I'm just starting down this path but don't yet know exactly where it leads. It's definitely a way to think about your nutrients and helps to learn what others think. The EC is now at 2.9 during refill and hardly rises above 3 until the next day. It stays in a relatively narrow EC window of about 2.7-3.1 mS/cm and feels comfortable there. Otherwise, both of them are doing well. The pump of the Chamdawg has once again run dry and failed, so I'll need to optimize the system. As a replacement, my drain pump is now being used, which has already been equipped with the first "optimized" beta prototype. I'll order new pumps in the coming days and experiment a bit. The OG is unstoppable and smells extremely delicious. The smell immediately reminded me of the Cookies Kush from BF from 2010, so I assume this scent direction is typical for OG. I definitely like it a lot. Just now, I discovered something that makes me a bit uncertain. On the first macro photo from day 64, there's a kind of bare calyx visible. It was hardly noticeable to the naked eye, but I pulled at it with tweezers and it broke off. There seemed to be a white hair inside. I'll stay alert, so it doesn't throw bananas at that spot.

High_And_Hydro Over the last few days, I've calculated the individual nutrients from the nutrient solution and "tapered off" in 3 steps. 1: Day 56 First, I removed the phosphorus by swapping the PK13/14 for mono-potassium. Lowered EC from 3.3 to 3.0. 2: Day 66 About 10 days later, I left out the potassium and switched back to the normal schedule without PK13/14. Additionally, I removed the magnesium by replacing the Calmag agent with mono-calcium. Lowered EC from 3.0 to 2.8. 3: Day 70 4 days later, I then removed the nitrogen and slightly reduced the calcium to balance the ratios. Lowered EC from 2.8 to 2.0. Also, the OG Kush drinks the tank dry in one day, so I don't give her any extra water in the morning. She suffers a bit from dry stress in the evening before she gets new nutrient solution. The Chemdawg can't handle that, so I'm letting her run "normally" as a little comparison. She gets new nutrient solution every 3 days since she drinks at most 1 liter a day. For the trimming, I've already prepared with a washing machine since stirring by hand or shaking in the box was too exhausting and time-consuming for me last time. I'm only going to do 2 sievings, specifically 160 micron and 45 micron, since my expectations aren't overly high regarding the individual stages. Everything from 45 to 120 has always been fine for me. I'm starting the first exercises with the leftovers from the outdoor run; it's not exactly the best and can therefore be used well for this.

High_And_Hydro The last week has begun, and from now on they will only get pure tap water without nutrients, and only in the evenings. In the mornings, I drain the water and let them deal with the puddle that remains inside to create some dry stress. The water pumps with the aeroponic nozzles are already off, but the air pumps are still running. I'm still waiting a bit on the trichomes, but it probably won't be too long until I harvest them 😁👍 On day 78, I started harvesting; it will probably take a while 😇 ... Day 82... even the scissors failed in between, but you can't let that stop you. It will probably take a few more days until I'm done.

High_And_Hydro I'm still in the harvest, so I can't give any weight information yet. Wet weight won't be measured. For the harvest, I started by cutting off the top towers, then the thick buds, straightened everything a bit, and now I'm in the process of removing individual layers about 10-20cm thick, so the lower "popcorn buds" can still grow and ripen. It's like a multi-monstercrop or something similar 😂 The day before yesterday, I spent a day trimming the Chemdawg since the thick towers needed to be harvested urgently. Today it was the OG's turn again. Trimming a red bucket takes about 1.5 - 2 hours 😆 I'll continue to document the progress of the monstercrop here. ----------------------------- Today I'm washing the first batch of trimmings. I'm using the washing machine for the first time, so I need to practice. So I don't expect a top result yet, but I would still be happy about it. Keep your fingers crossed for me 😅 👍

Today I put the second lamp into action. This way, the light comes in at a slight angle from both sides. As a result, the plant can shade itself less and the amount of light absorbed increases. Additionally, the side branches get light faster and therefore grow earlier, which allows them to spend more time overall under light and also form more area faster to absorb even more light. That's the theory, but we'll see if it works in a few weeks 😅

Really fast rooting. I was just watching and reading about aeroponics. Could be the thing 👌 Im at the point where i want to try something harder than bubbler.

@Hattiwatti, Yeah, i think one of the most important things is to keep the solution as much airated as possible. Now im trying out different spray nozzles to find the best spraypattern. There is plenty room to try out new things with this techniques and its so much fun to see my own inventions working or failing.

On day 4, the spring of my scissors broke, and I ran out of trimming trays, so I grabbed the saucers from outside in the garden. About half is done, and I still have one pair of scissors left. So I can keep going today; I've already ordered new scissors too.

I decided to start harvesting on day 78 based on the weather report. There's not much more to expect, and the humidity would force me to run the dehumidifier, which would unnecessarily drive up energy costs. So, I first cut off the branches where the least air gets in. Today, that was the ones that were overshadowing the Chemdawg. Next, I tackle the back, long branches to bring everything to one height. As a third step, I take out the thickest buds that are still in there, so the smaller ones can continue to ripen. Overall, I'm taking my time with the harvest, probably about a week.
High_And_Hydro
High_And_Hydro commentedweek 62y ago
I just noticed that both of my water pumps have failed. I didn't even realize it, so it seems the plants don't really care about it. The roots have grown into the grids and clogged the inlets. I've put the pumps in Bubblebags for now until I have new parts for a new idea. Also, I took the opportunity to move the two closer together since the Tangie cleared the field and now has to finish growing in the Solar-DWC.
High_And_Hydro
High_And_Hydro commentedweek 32y ago
On day 23, they had to leave a few leaves and I started with LST. The Chemdawg is a bit lagging behind, and I hope she can keep up somewhat.
the end.
