Increased light intensity. Aiming at 720-850ppfd. Things have been hot, almost 90*F. Raised lights recently. Keeping about 24" and letting plants grow into them until about 19"
Coming along nice. Using organics so making sure things are available down the road by top dressing in advance. Top dressed half cup (8tbs) Dr. Earth Flower Girl 3-9-4 per plant. Increased 400watt Vivosun/Samsung from 50% to 75%. Plants are getting between 600-750ppfd depending on height of canopy. Stripped lower bud sites and suckerbuds to direct growth toward colas but otherwise not removing fan leaves, opting to tuck leaves not remove them.
Plants look good. No light burn. No deficiencies. LST'ing into a SCroG style but not actually using a net, jet letting the plants fill in the space. Top dressed 3/4 cup earth worm castings so the plants have plenty of N available during early flowering stretch. 400watt@75%
Week 2 of Flower. Defoliated yellowing interior fan leaves in the bottom 1/3rd of plant.Pruned some branches that weren't competing, also some sucker buds.
Top dressed half cup dr earth Flower girl 3-9-4 and half cup wiggle worm castings 1-0-0. Set 400watt LED to 100% @ 18" from canopy. Plants are getting +/-5L waterings every 3 days in 5gal promix.
Lil pruning, minimal cleaning up of yellowing leaves below canopy. Focusing on keeping the light and heat and humidity dialed in. Stretch is almost done. Amazing aroma on the plant but not really stinking yet. plants are taking 1gal+ with a 2 day dry between waterings.
Top dressed Dr Earth Flower Girl 3-9-4. Discovered gnats this week. Cutting back on water significantl, which is tough because I think the plants need some food. Sticky traps and nematoads 🤞🤞🤞Added a box fan just to make things harder for the gnats.
Top dressed Dr Earth Flower girl 3-9-4 AGAIN (1/2 cup each 5gal bucket) because plants look hungry and it takes a while for the organics to be available. Plants are fading. Gnats seem to be knocked down haven't seen one this week with the reduced watering. Not exactly sure if normal fade and leaf drop or if it's hungry and the dry period forced the yellowing and leaf drop...
Week 8. RO water only. leaves are dropping. Buds are getting heavy and the smell has increased. Finally checking trichromes and atleast 1 plant is close to harvest. The Plants were topped at 7, 8 and 9 nodes respectively two weeks before flowering and the 7 node plant is considerably ahead of the 9 node plant. Initially I thought this plant was ahead because a fan had fallen and stressed the plant by slightly damaging a bud but it's more likely to having the least nodes hence the least buds . This plant is also closest to the fan, the door and is physically the shortest. it was placed on a small box to maintain an even canopy.
I half forgot about this variable with different nodes and it explains some of the things i saw during flowering. For instance the 2 larger plants growing taller and wanting more N during early flower when the short node plant maintained deeper green at the time and simply had less bud sites to accommodate.
The 9 node plant looks like it may easily take a couple more weeks.
Week 9. Harvest 2 of 3 plants. 1 plant looks like it needs a week or more still. I topped at 7, 8 and 9th node and the 9th node plant, the largest, is taking its time. 7th node plant seems well ahead of plants topped at nodes 8 and 9. Whole plant hang drying. Aiming for 60% humidity and as cool as I can get it but that's tricky this time of .
Harvested final 9 node plant day 71 from flip.
7 node plant is the strongest smelling, but the 8 node plant yeilded significantly more. They hung, whole plant, for 10 days at 60%+/- humidity at 75F+/-.
Not super easy to trim. I would defoliate more on the next round and remove more buds from the lower sites to encourage denser top buds and less larf towards the bottom. Buds smell do have an amazing smell and while a lot to trim, the sugar leaves themselves vaped rather nicely even without a cure so that I may leave them on after the cure.
