sweetdew I planted the Trainwreck 10 days after the Jack, just out of curiosity a nice headbud would be enough for me. The Jack 47 from Sweet Seeds has been in my top 5 for years. Even as an auto version, it's worth it, in the spring or for auto fans. Since the Trainwreck from Humboldt is no longer available, I'm trying the Green House version, which is supposed to be an original clone descendant of the Arcata. The footprints of the Humboldt Trainwreck are really hard to fill, I'm curious. I like to keep my grows simple. Although I sometimes prefer indoor in the spring or start autos, I love using the sun the most. I topped the Jack because otherwise it gets too tall for me.

sweetdew They are growing peacefully. Since I had a mite infestation from a tomato plant, I started spraying a mixture of Leaf Coat and neem oil. It seems to be working well. Neem oil doesn't harm the plants at all, as it breaks down after 3 days, so it's the best solution for eliminating pests outdoors. The Trainwreck is 48cm tall and the Jack47 is 60cm tall.

sweetdew Dear Diary: The Leaf Coat-Neem treatment was successful, our plants are healthy and the pests are gone for now. I've sprayed twice at intervals of 5 days and will apply the mixture one more time and then use Leaf Coat pure. Leaf Coat is already an expensive product, but it's very useful outdoors and almost necessary in the garden or field. The Jack 47 shows why it’s one of my favorite strains, stable growth with beautiful side branches, at 68cm tall. Since I pushed the Trainwreck as a late experiment, I am very satisfied; it has gained quite a bit of height and is now at 66cm. I hope this is already part of the stretching phase. sweetdew Dear diary, our ladies have weathered the near onset of winter quite well. Jack 47: She’s no longer stretching and is already the furthest along in flowering among our ladies at 96cm final height. The flower threads seem endless. With how fast she is, it almost feels like a Fast version has sneaked in. She already smells strong and delicious. There’s a bit of incense in there too. Trainwreck: This specimen is something special. At first, she refused to flower and stretched like crazy. Now she has stretched out and formed flowers in a week that look more like they’ve been developing for over 2 weeks. It’s amazing how different nature can be. sweetdew Dear diary, I keep taking a few leaves off so that enough light and air can reach the buds. I also gently tie the branches down for the same reason. By now, it's worth removing the lower flower sites on the Trainwreck. It's already progressing quite quickly with the flowering. The Jack47 gives the impression that it could be ripe in two weeks, definitely in three, which would also be very early. Both have grown another 1cm each, so I don't think much more will come. sweetdew Dear diary, it’s a dream how it looks and smells on our balcony. The Jack 47 is still pumping strength into the buds. Since I think it will be ready in the next 2 weeks, it got fertilizer for the last time today. It smells strong and spicy, but pleasant and not harsh. The Trainwreck is progressing quite quickly in flowering, but of course still needs time since it started flowering late. sweetdew Dear diary, since I found mold in one of the lower buds in the middle of the week and also in one of the headbuds of the Jack47 on Saturday (10/12), I had to harvest and wash immediately to avoid further losses. It was also clear, I've never seen such dense buds outdoors in our latitudes. I usually only know that from indoor plants. 😋 I would have liked to leave them for another week, but 95% of the trichomes are milky with a few amber ones. It still smells of the familiar and beloved incense notes that I only know from this strain in its wet state. The harvest report will come after the first tasting. The Trainwreck is showing to be very mold-resistant, which is necessary since it takes quite a while to finish.
