This plant is doing great! I haven't done any training on her, only defoliating the top most large fan leaves when necessary. With that minor defoliation, the lower branches have been able to catch up and have been making her a relatively flat plant at the top canopy. She hasn't shown a lot of pistils, only small ones. However, I've switched to bloom nutrients because it appears that she's moving to flowering. We'll see what happens -- hoping she is ready to start building some nice buds! Probably 4-6 weeks left on her at least.

Good luck with your Green Crack! Thanks for choosing our genetics. Happy Growing! 😀

wow , you're on week 8 and it's barely showing pistils, is that normal for this strain or something else with the grow making that happen? looking good 👌

@haftanara, haha! I agree. It usually turns out better when a plant takes its time...if only I were patient! 🙇‍♂️🏻 And I’ve certainly caused a few plants some trauma! I’ve snapped off fragile branches and just had to deal with it. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, you can tape it back on and it goes right on with it’s life!

@@@@@Chi_Town_White_Boy, I think it's great for it to take so long. I barely got to wk6 with my WW, but that's how it goes when you play with autos and do stupid stuff like snap the main stem 💩.

@haftanara, I’m not 100% if there was an issue - but if so, it may have been too much light. I have seen others going 6-7 weeks before flowering, so I’m not sure it’s too abnormal. Though I would have liked to see it switch at week 4. The one thing I will say about this is that it is really shaping up to be a monster of a plant. There are tons of branches that have appeared and it is looking very healthy. Also, even now when there’s a lot of pistols, they don’t appear to be super white. I can see buds forming, but it’s super green rather than turning really light colored right away. We’ll see what happens over the next week. She’ll definitely go 12-13 weeks. 🤷‍♂️🏻

I can see that you have enough experience to benefit from home made design. Check out my OG Kush grow for some photos of what I built, which is designed to keep the rootball huge and springy with lots of fine hairs. My first auto grow here was just a tub on top of another tub, super simple, the roots are in a small mesh pot and they live in the top tub, they drain to the bottom and get pushed back up. Second set up has a separate reservoir but this time the roots fill a pot then emerge into a shallow pool. I'd ditch all those nutrients and just use GH only. You shouldn't need any calcium or magnesium either, it's all in the nutes already. You're using hydro so you can take advantage of the control you have. Let me be clear, the hydro in a 5 gal with net pots going straight into the reservoir *do* work, and they can work well, I've seen it. But there's also so much that can go wrong and when it does go wrong it goes very wrong. You cannot get simpler than what I've designed, for a big root ball that is. I would also respectfully suggest that you can go much much more aggressive on the defoliation. I mean strip those leave all off, you won't believe the difference it makes.

@Freddd, not gonna lie - that hydro setup is badass. There’s never a lot of standing water in your top reservoir, is there? Just constant recirculating? I started with GH and originally switched to AN for the pH balancing and because they’re supposedly superior. Really wondering if I should go back to GH.... I got a good yield my first grow with it, but messed up other areas. Was too ignorant to realize it was me, perhaps. Are you using any GH supplements or simply grow micro bloom? Are you using silicon, floralicious, nectar, any of that? How often are you defoliating? I have been trying weeks 1 & 3 of Bloom. Also, why do you prefer to leave the larger fan leaves on the bottom? Any reason you didn’t defoliate those?

@Freddd, I appreciate the input. Let me look over your stuff and get back to you. I'll likely have questions. 🙏

Plant looks great man! I have a pack of fastbuds green crack myself that I'm still waiting to start. Ill be souped if anything close to yours Syu far haha. I do the same w/ my autos on tagging of the big fan leaves. It definitely shoots out the lower bud sites a lot more. I' always debate to take off or leave alone lol. Keep up good work!

@@Chi_Town_White_Boy, Definitely agree. I actually topped my latest auto and wish i didn't haha. Told myself that's it, last timei make that mistake haha

@Finsfan, thanks brother! Every grow is a Learning experience right? I used to top my autos, and since I stopped - my grows have been much better. Managing it with defoliation, LST, and proper nutes is more important! Was checking out your diaries...impressive work! Appreciate your input! 👊🏻

I have to agree that this seems excessively slow to flower and growth in general seems very slow for a hydro set up. I think you need more root development, I'd suggest you re design your hydro set up.

@Freddd, my setup is a constant improvement, but there's not much to it. A bucket with a lid and top feed line from the reservoir. There are tons of other factors that could cause slow growth, and redesigning the setup seems like the last. It's cold here in Chicago, 70 in day and 60 at night. That could cause a lot of issues. I'm struggling with maintaining humidity in the seasonal change. My nutrient level was likely too high during the grow...that can lead to slow growth. There are lots of factors -- but I'm not sure what a redesign would look like exactly. There are plenty of hydro growers using buckets and net pots, so it seems unlikely that the system itself is at fault.
