Mimosa (RQS) | First Time Grower

After 4 weeks of keeping my seedling alive with standard LED lights and occasional sunlight my tent arrived. The plant was moved into its final 15L fabric pots and placed under the grow light. Around 140W at 30cm distance to start with. My Mimosa is sharing her tent with one other plant for the entirety of this grow. As I did not really have control over her growth so far, I consider the move into the grow-tent as the starting point for her vegetative phase.

It didn't take long for my plant to get comfortable in her new home. She has grown a lot and I have strategically taken off a few leaves here and there in order to allow for better light penetration throughout the plant. I also topped her from Node 6 down to 5 and try to help the forming branches to form good tops as best as I can. I only water once I notice that the top soil has dried out and I maintain constant airflow around the plant. I try to keep an eye on my waters pH-levels, though I am not too thorough with it and kinda eyeball it. Throughout this week I haven't touched the environmental controls once and kept the tent @ 28°C and 65%RH.

(Day 16) After last weeks topping she has recovered nicely and the new Tops are developing perfectly. She has a bright green colour and seems to be loving life. I have been reducing the relative humidity in my growspace over these last days and currently sit around 60% humidity @ 26°C. My light is at 130W for 18h a day. I also increased the distance from the plant by 5cm. (Day 19) I defoliated the plant in order to help air-circulation, pest/mold-resistance. While I was at it, I decided to perform another topping on her. This time I did not perform that on the two mainline-stems but instead topped the other two branches that had reached the same height as the actual tops. This was a spontaneous decision and not pre-planned so let's see how it pans out. (Day 21) She has grown into a beautiful little plant, but in order to boost some of the lower growth and to keep the canopy even it is time to install the ScrOG-Net. You can see the before and after in the photos.

(Day 22) My Mimosa is now under the ScrOG-Net and I will try to fill the grow space as good as I can. This will be the focus for the entire week. Environmental Conditions: 27°C @ 62%RH (Day 24) Monitoring growth and tucking branches. Nothing special to report. She is slowly recovering from last week's spontaneous second topping. (Day 27) It's the final day of vegetation. She looks a bit weaker than my other plant, but otherwise looks healthy. Haven't had any issues with her so far. I will switch to 12/12h lighting from now on.

(Day 28) I lollipopped my Mimosa and gave her a bit more water as her leaves got a little weak throughout these last few days. I also cleaned the tent to prepare for flowering. For the first week of flower, I am still using vegetation-fertilizer. As soon as I start seeing bud-sites develop I will switch to flowering fertilizer. (Day 29) Aggressive tucking of branches under the ScrOG-Net to hopefully create a even canopy with many healthy tops. Also removed some large fan-leaves that blocked lower tops. (Day 32) The plant has recovered from my ScrOG and is looking healthy. Still using vegetation fertilizer. (Day 34) Switched to flowering-fertelizer. Exact mix can be seen in next week's overview. I also rotated the plant 180° and defoliated her once more to ensure good airflow.

(Day 35) I lowered the humidity and lightly increased the amount of water I feed. (Day 40) She has been mostly left alone these last few days. Her bud-sites are developing all around the plant and she looks healthy. I removed some large leaves to allow for better light-penetration.

(Day 42) I will be gone for a week, which means that this plant won't be cared for except daily watering. Let's see how she looks in a week.

(Day 52) Back from vacation - My Mimosa still looks healthy. I removed her from the tent, cut some leaves and put her back.

(Day 59) The plant still looks healthy and she has developed a lot of Bud-sites. Now it is all about fattening her up. Today I started adding PK-Fertelizer into the watering mix and will do so for the next 10 days or so. Let's see how it pans out

(Day 63) Plant still looks healthy. She is still being fed and watered every morning. I hope she put on some more weight in these coming weeks (Day 66) Light intensity has been increased to keep daytime temps at around 26°C Also the lower night time temperature has started to create some purple and yellow hues on this beautiful Mimosa. I am very curious how colorful she will get in the coming weeks.

(Day 70) She has started to develop a deep purple color and I can see a lot of her Trichomes have shifted color. This makes me wonder if I should cut her down within the next 7-10 days. Please let me know what you guys think. I originally had planned for 2-3 more weeks. I will stop feeding nutrients in about 3 days and will only give her ph-adjusted water from then on. (Day 73) Today I defoliated her by removing basically every large fan-leave. This should hopefully set her up well for her final days and make trimming a lot easier. I removed the ScrOG-Netting aswell since she can support her own weight. Also today is the last time she will be fed. Starting tomorrow she will only be given ph-adjusted water.

(Day 77) Starting the second to last week of flower, this Mimosa is looking more than just healthy and happy. I would have loved to see the plant be even fatter - but I am a beginner and am happy with my success so far. Her colors are amazing at this point. I will not feed this plant anymore and only give her ph-adjusted water.

(Day 84) I checked her Trichomes with my microscope and while there were already some amber colored ones at the head buds, the lower ones still need some time. I decided that I am going to chop her in 3 days time. She hasn't been watered since day 82 and I will only give her a little water once more tomorrow. She is incredibly sticky to the touch and as you can see from the pictures ripe with Trichomes all over. Her dark purple coloring almost makes her seem grey. (Day 87) It's officially cut down day - time to say goodbye. She has been hung up to dry upside down in my tent without any light. I'll give my thoughts on this grow after curing and tasting the product.
