### Recap of last week ###
She started flowering (hurray ๐) and apparently I gave her not enough nutrients, so she has a little N deficiency (on the top of the picture of day 36 you can see a yellowing and wilting leaf).
### Day 36 ###
She is stretching steadily and bushing out really neatly. She is like a little shrubbery, hope I don't have to give here to the knights who say Ni! ๐
I think she is going to produce 6 - 7 colas, which is not a lot, but will definitely be enough ๐
I have the feeling that the nutrients I gave her yesterday are already making her a lot more healthy and happy! I will make sure to keep this up. Also ordered some Magnesium and Calcium to be able to tackle those deficiencies when they would occur.
### Day 37 ###
Ok, I think I have found another factor why my plant could be this small: lamp distance. I think she didn't get the right PAR level. So now I dropt my light to 30cm with an estimated PAR level of 750 - 800. This should be pretty ideal for flower, let's see how she reacts to that! ๐
Wow she looked so much better today! Just look at the picture I took yesterday and the one of today! The light was indeed to far away and staggering growth! Let's hope the real stretching will start now ๐
### Day 39 ###
Wow she looks so much better with the lower light! The leafs really go up for the light and down when it's dark. She never did that before, or not in this way. So what I learned is that seedlings do stretch when the light is too far away. But once she is old enough she will stop growing when the light is too fat away.
Also, some of the leafs are getting purple tips, a nice purple plant would be awesome!
### Day 41 ###
She is still struggling with an N deficiency, so gave her 1l of water with some extra nutes.
In the middle of the picture from day 25 there is something weird going on with the new growth (next picture is more detailed). One side is growing really slow, the other looks like it never grew/was eten/something. It is kind of brown/red-ish. Is this a deficiency or windburn?
There's nothing I love more than logging on and seeing a new grow starting. I get so excited to see how everything is going to develop as the grow progresses. I wish you the best of luck in this grow my friend.
Cheers
@SensiSmellYahLater, thanks! :D
I'm also very excited for my first grow, it has been fun to see it grow from a little seed to a little plant. I will be away for a day or 4 tomorrow, so I hope I'm not going to worry all the time ๐
Must be hard to control the environment in a bucket hahah. Looks cool tho!! And the girl is lookibg great aswell. Did you make the space bucket yourself? Cheers!
@ArucambaAutoflowers297, the thing I hope the most is that she recovers of this before she is done stretching ๐ she could use some extra height ๐ฑ
@ArucambaAutoflowers297, oops, well first I did 2l to get the runoff result and after that 24l for a real flush. And now that I have my tent, I have made sure there is a lot of airflow drying the soil. I still see some signs of over watering, but hopefully those are gone tomorrow and then I'll let her dry fot a few days!
I'll make sure to not overdue it on the nutes next feeding. And I thought that flushing was more of a last resort, good to know that it is such an important method to save plants ๐ so many possible deficiencies!
@Trainrails, do let the soil dry between flushes. Its easy to overwater when flushing. Dont over do the first feeding once your soil is dry. If you gave it 18 to 27 liters during flush it shall take a while before it dries. Ive been through this before. And messed up the grow because of not taking action on time. I am a firm believer of, if you have a deficiency flush instead of overfeeding. I currently suspect i have a iron deficiency on one of the ladies. Probably because of ph issues. But im not sure so ill be flushing this week to check my soil
Spacebuckets are cool, always liked the idea... ๐
Can you explain how you build it?
Growing the same strain (among others) in my grow box (former wardrobe๐)
Good luck with your grow!
@Trainrails, Thanks for the link bro, thats a very good instruction
Something like that is similar to my first plans, but then I thought, lets make this small wardrobe into my growbox and that worked out well so far ๐
And yes, building the box was a lot of fun for me too๐
The blue Ladies seem to be very easy and forgiving. Just don't overwater and be sparce with the nutes. They like their soil a bit on the dry side, so far I only watered them once a week.
And your affection I totally share. If I am home and get bored or stressed I open the box and look at them. It is immensly satisfying and relaxing to see them grow. And now that they started to smell... yummie
@Trainrails, the first 2 weeks she got only ph'ed water with BioBizz RootJuice and Mykorrhiza fungi to stimulate a healthy root grow, so no real nutrients.
After that I gave her the other nutes, according to the BioBizz nutes schedule, but for the AllMix despite the fact that my soil is 50:50 All-/LightMix (so she gets the lesser amount)
And I watered her so far once a week
@GrowZex, yeah, I think the yield will be decent. The fact that she is still so small is my own fault over watering and not identifying the ph lock in time. But 10/10 would grow again :)
@Trainrails, best pH is the pH of rain water I guess 5.5 but it's a bit too low micro nutrients get absorbed best at around 5.9 ... This one I think will recover ... With a bit of consequences but it will recover and make nice flowers it's only veg not flower so I'm optimistic
@CRiSPrGrow, oh I always heard people say the best ph for soil was 6.5, I'll try to lower it some more! And the watering schedual is 0.6l every 3 days, I'll let it dry out some more before the next watering! Thanks for the very quick response ๐
Do you think it will start to grow again or is this part a goner?
Looking excellent ! It's always a pleasure to watch a plant grow from seed , keep up the great work . Sending your ladies lots of positive vibes so they grow big and strong and make you lots lots of medicine!
-Happy Growing!
@The_Projexx, thanks for all the advice! ๐
The nutes I use where advertised as being organic and I use the smallest amount I can, just a little bit to not burn them with too much food. I also water them about 0.6l of water per 3-4days so she has time to dry out before the next watering.
Maybe I should try to lift the light a little more. I read somewhere that if the light is to close leaves also tend to curl up.
Thanks for helping me out! ๐
@Trainrails, They are young brother some of the curling can be due to various things , my best advice when they are young like that is less is more , make sure not to over water them , make sure the growing medium doesnt stay drenched to long ( this will cause root rot and then sepsis on your plant ) and I'm not sure if the nutrients you are using are organic or not but if they arent I would advise to start at 1/4 strength and work your way up from there based on the plants response to the feedings you're giving . Also being that your medium is soil I would only feed with nutrients every 2nd or 3rd watering this way you can ensure you're plant uses almost all available nutrients in the soil before adding new ones . The reason I say this is cause soil tends to hold nutrients longer then say "soiless or hydroponics" . Over all you're doing well keep it up and you will see the results of you're labour .
Thanks for taking the time to respond :)
-Happy Growing!
Thanks @The_Projexx! Yeah I'm very excited! ๐ She has some light up curling on some leaves, but I hope that will sort itself out in the end, probably will with those good vibes! ๐
@Green_Friends_Inc, yeah sounds pretty festive doesn't it ๐ The main stem almost makes a full 360 now (its hard to see because of how dense this little one is), but I guess thats enough, else it is still going to cast shadows on underlying buds.
And you and me both friend! ๐ I'm sooo looking forward to next week! Nice to have you on board ๐
I never knew about windburns, my bucket is up and ready and I'm gonna start my first grow in a week.
What size are your fans? I have got 80mm as an intake.
@greenbuddy, mine are the same size. In my case the wind burn only affected the one spot on my plant, the rest was doing ok. After I defused the light it did a lot better and just started growing again. So I would not worry too much unless you see signs of it happening ;)
