Started my second grow. Different temperatures and humidity levels then my last run due to winter time but Im making adjustments where needed.
Fastberry Auto from Fastbuds
7days from sprout
450w viparspectra (200w actual draw)
3g soft pot with pro mix organic soil
FastBerry (FastBuds)
14 days from sprout.
Started a light nutrient feed this week. About quarter strength of what is recommended. Also added neem oil to soil drench as I noticed a couple of gnats in the air and don't want that to become an issue.
FASTBERRY (Fastbuds)
21 Days from sprout.
Still a little easy with the nutrients this week. She seems to be doing well. I tore a small piece of a fan leaf by accident! Was considering some LST, possibly pony tailing. Although I did start some bending and securing of the main stock to try and open up some of the mid level to the light.
FASTBERRY (Fastbuds)
28 days from sprout.
Easy nutrient feed at about quarter strength recommended dose.
Tried some leaf tucking and pony tailing. She seems to respond well.
FASTBERRY
35 Days from sprout.
Light training. Leaf tucking, pony tailing and some bend and secure. Pony tailing seems to help with the side branching. Which will be useful as she seems to be on the smaller side. Possibly due to lower RH early on. Otherwise she seems to be doing ok.
Attempted a layer of clay pellets after soaking in PH'd water for 16 hours, to combat the gnats from reaching the soil. I feel like sand may have been a better choice and removed the clay before feeding again. There are so few gnats that its not much of an issue, but I'd like to eliminate the threat before flowering really kicks in.
FASTBERRY
DAY 42 FROM SPROUT
She has some long side brancing happening.
Did not add any more neem oil to soil drench and did a small flush this week.
Clay pellet layer was not much for keeping the gnats off the soil. Sand likely would have been better. Not able to get sand at his time so tried a covering with plastic wrap. This worked much better however I'm keeping a close eye out for any mold development. Havent seen a gnat in a couple of days now. So far so good.
FASTBERRY
DAY 49 FROM SPROUT
Starting to show a small shade of some nice purples.
Removed the plastic wrap covering and still seems to be no more gnats.
FASTBERRY (FASTBUDS)
63 Days from sprout.
She is showing some nice purple/green mixed colors through-out her buds. Without going completely purple. I find she smells more of citrus then berries at this point though.
FASTBERRY (FASTBUDS)
70 Days from sprout.
She is showing great colors though not alot for bud size. The scent of citrus is dominating the berries at this point. Has me slightly concerned but we'll see how she smokes in the end.
She will be chopped in the coming days.
FASTBERRY (FASTBUDS)
74 Days from sprout. Planted and chopped during a full moon cycle.
She showed great colors and visually was great to grow. Her genetics showed strong growth from early on and she took well to the light training I did. She probably could have done well with more training too.
I did have some terepene concerns. There is little to no berry flavor in this smoke? The flavor is lemon citrus dominant with hints of flowers and grape. For me this is disappointing as I'm trying to find a great berry strain and generally dislike lemon strains. (I find I get itchy with small hives when I handle lemon strains. Also I often get headaches from smoking them.) But that is my personal reaction. I'm sure those who enjoy lemon strains would like this.
She was the lowest yielding plant of all 5 of the autoflowers I've grown to date but I will try to improve as I continue to learn and expand those yield numbers.
The buzz itself was decent to good. Couch lock if I burn over 2-3 joints within an hour, but relaxed if I keep it to one. Unsure at this point if I will grow the other seeds I have. Maybe for an outdoor grow experiment. But I will definitely still try other FastBuds strains.
In the end, 19 grams total. But a learning experience still.
