I am strictly a beginner, 1st time grower and know very little about breeds in general, bought seeds very cheap and germinated easy. Any growing advice welcome.
I used very little nutrients, used canna terra pro plus soil mixed with maybe 10 per cent of my own compost, straight into tent and under 600w. 11L smart pots on 18/6.
A little root juice used sparingly end of week.
upped terra vega to 4-5ml per L , dropped root juice entirely, only opting for 2-3 feeds in total of roots, average 1-2 feeds of terra per week, mainly just water.
4-5 canna terra vega, started very basic tucking of leaves and slight bending. probably should have started this earlier, but im a novice to lst and had intended to just let nature take its course but they are bushy as hell and short and thick. Many potential buds covered by thick leaves.
Had various insects show their face after watering (fungus knats?), kidnapped two spiders from outside who promptly setup home and seeing less insects by the day :-)
one plant is thinner and less bushy with more buds, other is thicker and leafier with denser but less buds, both started very similar. perhaps one has more indica, other sativa(??)
lack of training is obvious on plant b, plant a had some very light lst early on, not sure how to proceed with this now, its obvious more light will hit higher buds but im too inexpereinced to bend further or scrog at this stage..
The two plants look very different , A has many tiny weak buds and calyxs, it) has had me googling hermies a lot (!!) really whispy thin foxtail type, B has xmas tree shape very bushy less buds but more dense.
has plant a got bad genetics or is it a different breed?? no idea,
really dont know whats going on with plant a atm, i know its got trichomes and hairs are turning orange and it smells pungent and exotic, moreso than any other of the plants. I guess it will get smoked, am doing an early dry on some small buds to check.
Slightly disappointed with the yield in plant B too, thinking its going to be ready within next 2 weeks, buds looks healthy just not enough of them, wish i had applied some proper LST and used more nutes :-D
really dont know if plant a is ready or not, tried to get closeup pic of trichomes, hairs are now mostly orange and its sticky and smells pretty strong. gonna keep B flowering away for another week or so i guess....
started flushing both from around day 60, plant a has literally no white hairs, plant b around 50-60% gonna take it down in a day or two I think.
a has started to get red purple leaves and b yellow, think its end of the road for these and time to start focusing on my widows and gscs
one plant was fine, not the best smoke but nice high, another total freak heavy cbd but very strange shape, 3rd outdoor was probably the nicest but not much yield and three very different plants. Would not grow this strain again, in hindsight i would have researched breeders prior to this my first grow. 1st grow, will learn a lot second time round. Get from trusted breeder and seed bank, do not transplant autos, and do some lst, thanks for watching kids

Is a good idea to spray them when the lights are off, only if is really necessary. 👍 Plant two looked droopy could be overwater or stress, in week 5, she looks better now. This strain should be indica, the structure of yours are compatible with that. 👊
@goarilla, Bro I use the towel method, any humidifier will do, just choose something that is ideal for your tent/space, and in your budget.
I'm familiar with VPD but don't use it, @JUNGLE_B4RNS, may be able to help you since he uses it, check his diaries as a ref too. 👍🏻
@CANNASIM,
4) Any recommendations for a cheap humidifier ?
Hasn't knowledge of VPD (vapor pressure deficit) made the humidity story a dynamic one ? eg:
at 28C it might be better to have 80RH at veg. Should we calculate and recalculate curves for this ?
Should we start looking at the stomata manually and use point sensors attached to a rpi ?
Anyway: To the Kongcave ! :D
@goarilla, Options are:
1- using a wet towel inside the tent and or a container with water(you can soak a saturated sponge too)
2- Wet the tent floor and let it evaporate, this one is messy and less advisable, vases should be elevated and not in contact with the water...
3-Reduce the fan that extracts air. Watch the temps though.
4-Buy a cheap humidifier and end of story lol.
You should aim 70-80% for clones < 40-60%veg < 40-50% flowering < less then40% final phase. Good luck! 👍
hi thanks for the reply, i posted a pic on another forum and everyone came up to tell me barneys farm were crap and they would never use their seeds and that it was a useless plant, that they had seen this far too many time with barneys. i treated a and b exactly the same, i have some girl scout cookies that are also there and a cbd widow and though the gsc are small all are healthy. I am at this stage unsure what to do with A, there isnt long left and people are suggesting to kill it or make hash with it. I switched from vega to flores but kept low dose of flores and increased each feed?!
@mononostril,
Hey buddy, first of all: don't panic! They are doing OK, despise the yellowing a little bit early.
Do you measure runoff ph? Better if you take a slurry test.
Hey bro if you can use a zoom lens to get you to see better the trichomes would be advisable! 👍🏻You can choose how your smoke will be depending on how mature is she as follows:
A - 40% of hairs have darken, trichomes are half clear and half cloudy : Produces a more energetic effect, and buds tend to still growing in size.
B-50-70% of hairs darken, trichomes are milk / cloudy, you get the most intense high, with most euforia - pain relief vibe.
C- 70-90% hairs have darken, trichomes are major ambar and turning, you get more CBN less THC and a more relaxing / narcotic / couch lock high.
🙃👊🏻
Hello ,
Plant A is suffering from Nitrogen deficiency, she is moving the N from the bottom leaves to save the tops.
Plant B is doing better than plant A.
Barney's Farm is one of the oldest seeds Bank with Sensi Seeds , T.H Seeds and Serious Seeds. They're trusted seeds bank.
Your problem is far away from a VPD problem, you just switched between Veg and Bloom nootz to quickly, plants needs N during the transition and the flowers opening phases, has they stretch a lot during these 2 phases .
VPD is for people's with perfect environment syndrome, like me 😅
Stay away from VPD syndrome or it's gonna cost you money in digital's controllers , humidifier and dehumidifier...
Just look on YouTube for Strain Hunters Moroccan expedition, you'll see plants growing in the mountains on rocks with almost no water under a burning sun which could kill you in 3 days if you had no drinking water.
