7/31/24 - Both planted direct in Happy Frog red solo cups with a pinch of Myko in each. Set cups in pan of water to absorb and lightly wet the top with a dropper not to disturb the seedbed. I'll number them in order when they pop. Tomorrow morning I'll empty the water out of the pan and re-moisten the top layer.
8/3/24 - Both popped same time. Just before noon I noticed.
8/11/24 - Got them under the light a little later than I would have. We had a storm knock out our power 5 days ago. They stretched a little by the window, looking for light. Got them wired up straight in their cups now under a 100w at 60%. They were able to correct and face the light perfectly in about an hour so they are doing great. Leaves look to be without mutation like I had on the one I termed, last run.
8/21/24 - Just continuing to water in the cups. No ferts yet. 100W turned up to 80%.
8/25/24 - 1st topping. Lights back down to 60% for a day or so while they recover. Gonna try cloning the tops I cut off. Why not.
9/4/24 - Looking good since first topping a week and a half ago. Looking to do 2nd top soon Might transplant into 3 gal bags before next topping. Going for a 8 top mainline.
9/12/24 - Transplanted into 3 gal pots and a few days later topped the 2nd time. Going for 8 tops per plant so I will let them grow out a little until I can tie them apart, and then flip em. Probably flipping next week. Going to give a Fox Grow Big boost this week and 1st dose of CalMag.
9/18/24 - Flipped to 12/12. Mainline turned out great. May tie down some more after some more growth as we go into stretch. Gave 1st dose of CalMag this past week. Will give Tiger Bloom tomorrow morning. Added the 100w flowering light also.
9/19/24 - Cut the first set of nodes of each of the 16 mains and tied them down along with keeping pressure on the initial 8 (8 and 4 per plant respectively).
10/9/24 - Going strong and mainline working out perfectly. Left plant has pretty congruent branches in all directions and Right Plant has some height diversity. Either way I can rotate each plant 180 degrees every day or so to spread the light focus evenly. This is why I can't run a scrog. At least until I upgrade my light situation. I think this is the most efficient setup I could run with present equip. Should have 16 very nice branches/colas come harvest time on Thanksgiving.
10/19/24 - Removed LST tie downs and adjusted inter-branch wires for even spacing. Gave a dose of CalMag yesterday. Trichomes forming and giving a lemony scent. Looks great.
10/31/24 - Happy Halloween! Just did some light pruning and continuing to feed the Tiger Bloom. I've pretty much customized the flowering sites since the beginning so I have not trimmed any branching or side growth since setting up the mainline. Definitely liking this decision because I feel like I have prevented any wasted growth. The only thing I removed today were lower and obstructing fan leaves. 4 weeks to go per Barney's. Cheers!
11/7/24 - No pruning, just feeding. #2 on the left is showing a lot more browning pistils than #1. Wondering if this is a pheno thing or...? Lots of trichomes showing up. 3 weeks to go. I'm looking for a lot more gland production and the buds to thicken up.
11/13/24 - Day 56 (out of 70-75) of flower. Buds getting denser, filling out. Trichomes ramping up. There isn't a small bud on em. This mainline setup worked really well for me because I wasted no growth on worthless bud sites. Each top was selected for growth in the first weeks of flower and all below a certain node line got pinched when they were tiny. I'll definitely add a week or so to veg on my next because I am not fully utilizing the height of the room by far. After scouring all the harvests of this strain on this site, I will say I believe a lot of people chopped too soon, and looks like where I am at now. Per Barney's this sativa dominant strain should still have at least 2 more full weeks left, and I intend on letting it go until then. At this point I still have green pistils everywhere. The buds are noticeably wider and denser every day. This being my 4th run I feel way less anxiety and impatience than I used to. Full jars from previous runs definitely helps. On my first run it was like watching paint dry, and also eagerness to apply what I learned on the next run. This time around I am happy to just feed and admire every day. Planning on two more weeks of feeding before at least 5 days of rinsing. Plants are super happy with no signs of poor health. This will be my greatest performance yet.
11/18/24 - I am glad I over obsess for once. After looking at Barney's data sheet and counting my days I realized I am on day 61... and Barney's calls for 60-65. I think my initial calculation put harvest day on Thanksgiving, but I mistakenly thought Thanksgiving was this week instead of next. When I realized Thanksgiving wasn't until the 28th, in my mind I never adjusted my harvest date to a week prior. Long story short, no more ferts and starting my rinsing immediately. I haven't even checked the tricks with my microscope yet. I will have a look later today for sure.
Update in progress...
11/23/24 - Chopped and hung whole in closet.
11/29/24 - Trimmed and jarred. Early samples detect incredible taste and smell. The high is immediate and very energetic. Felt up front and in the face. Very pleased with the initial weights, although I will make certain they are accurate and final before posting numbers.
12/11/24 - No clue why it only gives me an option to log the wet bud weight but I put 3.55 oz for my final weight and that is dry.
