Visibly growing from one day to another. Increased watering a little but still no nutrients added. Temperature inside the tent continues to be high, upper the RH accordingly.
Strong growth at the beginning of week 3; optimizing for VPD by increasing the humidity, since the temperature won't go down too much. Started feeding at the end of week 3 for now to see how growth looks like.
Big growth spurt between week 3 and 4, they more than doubled in volume. It is, in other words, "stretching." Still feeding Bio-Grow only (for now) and watching for signs of flowering, when the plan is to add Top-Max and Bio-Bloom.
There's a faint smell now in the tent, nothing much and it gets filtered fully.
Day 27 (end of week 4 therefore) and the larger of the plants starts forming pistils (see the close-up photo). Looks like everything's on track by entering the flowering stage come week 5.
All three are now in their early flowering stage. They're very thirsty and have been given nutrients according to Biobizz's chart (this is the first full week of flowering).
Concerned with vertical space so I had to move the extractor fan and the carbon filter outside the tent and raise the lights before light heat stress becomes an issue.
After the stretching, it turned out I had to get a bigger tent! Three plants will *not* thrive in a 2x2x5! Everyone's now much happier in a 3x3x6 (that is 80x80x80 in centimeters), not only in terms of canopy surface but also in terms of height (they were getting dangerously close to the lights in the previous tent). As expected, temperature and humidity control is also easier in a larger tent.
Upped the nutrients per the Biobizz chart for week 3 of flowering. It's incredible how thirsty these plants are, I would've never imagined it if I didn't see it for myself (they're now drinking about 2 liters daily). The smell has gotten a bit stronger over the past few days.
First day of week 9 overall and week 4 of flowering: the smell is getting stronger and the plants are getting stickier and sticker everywhere. Did a very very light defoliation to help light reach lower bud sites. Upped a little the Bio-Bloom ratio, per Biobizz chart (3 - 3 - 1).
Buds continue to swell and they've gotten more thirsty. Watering, on average, close to 2 liters each, alternating days of 1l and days of 2l. The weather's more cooperating and it's easier to maintain a good VPD in the tent.
Week 10 overall and week 6 of flowering: buds continue to swell and they're rather heavy. Needed to tie a lot of branches that bent under the weight. Upped feeding per BioBizz schedule.
Some trichomes, very few, have started to turn amber. The top colas seem to be about a week ahead of the buds on the lower branches (colas started to show some amber, whereas the lower buds may still have some clear trichomes).
This was my first grow and I feel I made a lot of mistakes, gave these plants a rougher start than I would've wanted (heat stress, for example, until I relocated the tent). Still, they seemed to be taking my lack of experience in stride, grew well and quickly, and yielded 200g dry bud, plus 77g trimmings for cannabutter.
Very happy overall with this first experience, I learned a lot, and future plants will hopefully have it easier! The yield was quite good, in spite of having a lot of lower, undeveloped buds that will end in cannabutter.
