Transplant into 10 gal pots went good. Plants are loving the fox farm ocean forest w/ added perlite and some pro mix BX. Added the promix BX for its myco to help the roots fill out the 10gal pot, it also helps with drainage.
Oh the growth!
Started low stress training to bulk up those side shoots for clones, planning on vegging these until the flowering tent is vacant (another 4-5 weeks).
Pics actually taken at 5.5 weeks. Took 2 cuttings from each plant for cloning and they show no signs of slowing down.
Addded 1 Tbl sp. of Blackstrap molasses per gallon during their last watering to promote microbial activity in the soil and the plants are loving it. Organic all the way!
Forgot to take pictures at some point (new job, hectic life) so here we are at day 61 of veg.
Took 4 cuttings of each plant a few days ago for cloning, new growth is shooting up as expected.
Slightly purple stems on the White Widow x Big Bud I dont know if its genetic or a sign of an issue. Time will tell. Both plants going strong still.
Every other watering I've been adding worm casting tea + molasses that I've brewed up with a homemade rig. The plants seem to love it. Going to hold off on synthetic nutes unless absolutely necessary. Will be picking up more organic soil amendments as I can.
Bit of a jungle situation as these girls are outgrowing my veg tent.
The orange bud from my first grow is taking way longer than expected to finish flowering (11+ weeks) so these gals are stuck vegging until the flower tent is vacant. Been super cropping and pruning as needed. Planning to use 2 Scrog nets once flowering begins.
Using Fox farm ocean forest with added perlite, feeding with worm casting + molasses tea that i brew for 24 hr. every 2nd watering or so.
No other nutrients used. Slight clawing on tips indicating plenty of nitrogen still even after 3 months.
Fed with more worm casting + molasses tea brewed for 48 hrs. to keep the soil life going as we come close to flowering.
Started some last minute low stress training in prep for the trellis net.
Slight purple streaking on stems probably due to having my pH pen being in need of calibration. Have corrected the issue and new growth is healty and all green.
The ladies are all moved in to their new home which is my 2 grow tents squashed together to form a make-shift 4x4 tent.
Installed a trellis net and spent a few hours tucking and squashing the girls down as low as possible, managed to get a fairly level canopy.
Flipping the switch to 12/12 tonight, looking forward to more canopy management during the stretch. Still no nutrients other than worm casting tea and molasses.
Started flowering after letting them adjust to the net for a few days. Plants seem very happy with their new light, leaf edges are praying to the light gods.
Soil life seems to be good as well no signs of deficincies, will keep maintaining with worm castings + FFOF soil tea.
Plants are doing the stretch, the White widow x Big Bud seems to be pulling ahead of the Blue Dream as its already showing bigger more developed bud sites.
Blue dream is a thirsty girl and doesnt like her soil being dry for long as the leaves start to droop but perk right up again shortly after watering. White widow X big bud is showing a lot more resilience to being dehydrated.
Buds on both plants are starting to smell deeeelicous. Hoping the stretch is over for the most part and looking forward to watching the colas fatten up.
Thought i saw a cal mag deficiency so i added a bit of Ph perfect micro and totally fucked up my soil life!! Both plants experienced deficiencies in nitrogen, calcium, magnesium, and iron last week and have been on the recovery. Been nursing them with a foliar spray with diluted nutrients taking care not to spray the buds at all.
