1/5/19 Transplanted Clones in Root Riot Plugs to 4" pots in soil, I managed to get 11 of 12 cuttings to Root in 11 days, will weed out weak plants and keep the 6 best plants for this next grow
This is not a knock but a question. I notice that you don't flower that much or rather for that long. It looks like you veg for 6-8 weeks and flower for 4-6 weeks. I grow inside but have never had an indica flower finish before 56 days (8 weeks). Sativas take about 12 weeks. You are harvesting a sativa after 5 weeks of flowering. How is this possible?
@Sgtoso, I have 2 jewelers loupe's handy at all times, I inspect my plants daily, my outside growing conditions can be very harsh at times, but I manage, bugs, spiders, budworms, wind, rain, I have a huge vegetable garden at home and harvest up to 150 lbs of homegrown produce per year for home consumption and sharing, I'm an outside grower! I would love to have hand grenade size buds, any suggestions other than my challenges
@Pauwela, Hey friend, if you are 100% happy with the outcome of your grows then don't mind me. I did google maui wowie flowering times and the general consensus is 7-9 weeks through multiple sources.
Photoperiod cannabis plants can be kept in veg indefinitely with an 18/6 light schedule as long as they're fed proper nutrients and not root bound. They flower when the light schedule is closer to 12/12. It doesn't make sense that your plants start to flower after 7-8 weeks of veg since these are not the autoflower variety.
You should consider investing in a jeweler's loupe (at least 40x) and look at the trichomes. The buds don't tell the whole story. When you see 10-15% amber trichomes it is time to harvest. You might end up with hand grenade size buds and instead of no complaints, a lot of compliments. Peace
@Sgtoso, I don't know what to say, but I did harvest 45 plants since last April and 35 were these clones, They seem to flower 7- 8 weeks after veg, the flowers and buds tell me when to harvest 4-5 weeks later, I got 97 ozs last year with no complaints, some of my dried buds are 1/2 the size of my thumb, sticky and good with me
@Pauwela, Just had one day of somewhat nice weather and now were back to rain it looks like again. Just chopped my plant down this week. Hope the new group wont get blown across the lawn haha.
@Club_Ohana, Sadly, the high gusty winds (50-60 mph) on Sun 2/10 tossed my dome to the ground with cuttings in plugs and destroyed (6 of 11) cuttings and the rest don't look good, there are no signs of visible roots yet, I had to re-trim the last group of plants for more cuttings before they go into flower and start a new group again. And the rain continues
I've also made clones. Kind off first attempt. I've had mixed results in the past. Biggest mistake was to introduce them to sunlight too fast - I only do outdoor growing. Anyway, good luck with yours.
@@@Simsalabim, Thx, this is my 8th-time making clones since last April 2018. I had 100% success on 4 out of 8 attempts, 3 were 60-90% success, 1 grow was a complete disaster. I start off with soaking cuttings for 2 days, then trim, split, scratch stems, dip in Clonex rooting gel, then into Root riot plugs and I keep them in my humidity dome box for 10-12 days "nights in my grow box with lights on" daytime temper patio shade & little sun, nighttime in the grow box, then transplant to 3gal grow bags for 2 weeks, daytime full sunlight, girls go in my grow box at night with lights on to stretch until I transplant to 5 or 7gal grow bags to finish off and harvest about another 4-5 weeks, the drying and curing process to follow
Nice plants you have there! As far as I can see this is the real deal [original Maui Waui] isn't it? So good to see these island phenos still going around.. Will follow your grow reports man. Much love from the cold European hemisphere, greets from Holland. Mahalos! 👊
