3 autos, 3 photoperiods. The smallest plant is the Special Kush #1 flipped to 12/12 at like 21 days... so really should have been saved for next run but we all get seed-poppin'-happy sometimes, right? Also the autos in the back row (epsilon f1 sharing 16L with Critical Auto and white widow auto, all RQS) are now, just as they've went into flower been put on 12/12 too (of course), I haven't run autos on less than 18/6 before now, but my photos needed flipped due to their size, so this will be interesting 😁
I've just let her veg out while my f1s where finishing and when they did, I've come to Wedding Gelato, who had really only had a bit of Lst (training clips) and was approaching 70cm so I've tied her down pretty much exactly as I'll want her during flower and I'm gonna fix up all my conditions for flower and put her on some bio-bloom from this week (a week prior to flipping lights) and start introducing more phospherous for energy too, which i'll spoon on a tsp or two of an organic blood n bonemeal or maybe bat guano (if i can find the pack -of misplaced batsh*t somewhere in my apartment 👍 )
The tent is a bit full and my humidity is too high but I am ordering a new dehumidifier today. Usually my tents humidity is weirdly ideal but as you can see its in the high sixties. The girls are now seven days into 12/12 and everyones leaves look good, etc. I had to do some lollipopping last night even though I usually avoid touching them too much in flower, this was done to avoid any mould or humidity pockets, besides the light isnt penetrating too low so better to lose some on the bottom to gain up top, is my outlook.
Hardly any "defoliation" as such but Wedding gelato is so bushy and special queen is lesd compact but with nice buds forming on both and my humidity running precariously high still at around 60%, I took a few of their less healthy or very- bud-shading leaves and as always with my defole it is chop and drop. Mulch/worm food. There was only two worms dropped into each pot a month ago, roughly. I wonder how they are doing, I hope by harvest time to see some more in my substrate. Kind of a test too; in organic input medium like mine, they should be all good, right?
The video is probably the quickest update 😄
My next run; i plan to be less of a Variety King and finally use my SCROG net. The beans I'll be running to scrog are Royal Cookies and El Patron (both RQS), if anyone has any experience with those strains? I'll be running a smaller Apple Fritter and Blue Cheese auto too... hey, I have very discerning terp-buds, ok?!
I tried to remain as hands off as possible, which was helped by the whole family being sick in our beds this week, haha; cough, splutter.
Nonetheless I had to remove a few leaves on the autos as they start to fade away, and removed a few strategically on the photoperiods so light is getting to their lower bud sites.
Epsilon F1 can be done flowering in 4 weeks and although I was skeptical, her trichs were already about 70% milky and 30% clear a few days ago when I checked, which very pleasantly surprised me: I was expecting that supergluey clearness! Even whilst waiting for an ideal milky: amber ratio though, looking at her calyxs I could see she wasn't quite done. So she lives and matures on. But very soon...
I also realise only now that I might have to do separate "Harvest Week" diaries for each plant and then this "wedding gelato" journal obviously just the total of the 6 plants in it. That's ok, there are numerous arguments for and against running a mixed strains tent and we take the good with the bad.
The 16L fabric pot with the Epsilon f1 and Royal Critical Auto in together as companions has been a fun experiment and as this shared pots' first chop (and this mixed strain- diary's first harvest too) of Epsilon looms near, I am glad I did it. Zero training, and they've been on 12/12 for a month of the two that they have existed for! So in terms of fuss: 0. Electricity costs: minimal. Space Used: minimal. And yet this week we will cut down a nice looking auto - merely 8 weeks after her germination... no; no regrets 😌
White widow auto only gave about 25g but basically all of perfect nugs. Anti auto people could be converted from her, I contend. Big blast of berry taste, giggly, lifted effects. Very frosty, plump nugs.
Special Queen yiekded easily 3 and a half ounces and her look is great. So far the tsste isnt what white widow is, might lift with curing. Using grove bags.
Royal Crit just got put away for 48hrs dark. 😅
-Knock knock
-who's there?
-Bro Science, dude 🤭😎
That being said, the only times I have done a dark period, I have had good results- coincedence? Perhaps.
I think royal crit will yeild heavier than epsilon, which I maybe grabbed just a scooch too soon. But that coukd well mean that the one 16 litre pot that has been under 12/12 and had little attention will still have given out (we'll wait to weigh crit when it dries) probably ballpark guess though 2 ounces combined within nine weeks. For a set-and-forget that's not bad. I'm more excited for the white widow auto though and then my main attention of course has gone to wedding gelato and special queen. That special kush #1 is some stretcher too, huh? Like a kamikaze pilot towards that hps bulb! 🔥✈️🔥
She was a set and forget free seed and really pretty vigorous, considering the facts. As I say, not really my requirements but not bad by any fair description. She had very nice resin on her buds and stuff, just too low a thc content for me to run her independently.
I really thought I had a video of her before chopping. Thats one (newbie) issue trying of trying to document a staggered harvest grow, was is a lot more complicated 🙈 The strain white widow auto though, I highly recommend and wish I'd trained her and ran three of them instead of one 😄
Because I didnt "care" aboyt harvesting this partocular plant, as she was free and I decided to experiment like "taking a cheap/ free seed and using zero training essentially just minimal nutes, organic, how would she grow?" The answer unsurprisingly was less pretty than her sisters -who would be coming down any day now- but honestly she has this citrusy; just kushy taste and a mellow effect: I do not regret running her. If I do it again it will be at least with LST because the juice is actually worth the squeeze 👌 tutto bene
Honestly recommend special queen, some have thos quite loud weed, almost garlicky taste to them. Because I run a lot of fruit strains, that's a pleasant detour.
If anyone can recommend any great fruit strains I'd really appreciate it.
