@Tried_and_Tested, I mean the 315W is perfect size for small space such as mine and I don't see reason to switch away from these anytime soon. I'm considering of upgrading it to 630W next with better, adjustable ballast to have that extra when the temps allow it. Philips bulbs have been recommended a lot (best PAR/efficiency) and they probably are the best since they invented CMH bulbs. Light penetration also comes down to quality of reflector and how it focuses the light so those are something worth looking into.
As for DWC, you can't let the solution get warm or it's game over real quick. You're gonna want something to keep that chilled and do it manually if you have to. My next grow is gonna be with photoperiod and we're gonna find out what you can really do with just 300 watts of full spectrum light.
