Saw first sprout (UL) @ first feed, saw all sprouts @ second feed. Had to uncover dirt covering LL, revealed bent over sprout. Sprout immediately began straightening/reaching, woke up next morning to a fully erect tiny lil sprout, matching size to UR and LR. UL is still biggest for now.
First observations on sprouts:
UL: strong, first, nice green. Removed seed nagging on to a leaf.
UR: small sprout noticed at night. UR may be ever so slightly stronger than LR?
LL: Had to move some dirt to help the sprout reach upward. Already seeing improvement.
LR: Small sprout noticed at night, similar to UR.
Initial (phone) picture order UR, UL LR, LL
DAY 2: 8/18/24 - woke up to four beautiful, reaching sprouts. Removed heat domes, raised light by ~half an inch. Introduced first 2 hr night cycle @ 9PM, day set to start at 11:PM.

Day 5 - 8/21/24 - plants bending over. Too moist? Not enough support? I covered them with little dirt piles. Now they are steady in place. I am fine tuning the temp and humidity with the help of Chat GPT (Planty). I just learned that all doors to that room must remain open. It is crucial for the temperature/humidity/and airflow. The big open interconnected basement is my biggest asset to this grow, I must remember this during the smelliest part of the Flower cycle.

Day 6 - 8/22/24 - No feed today. Still plenty of water to drain. I set up the inline A8 exhaust fan today. Took longer than I wanted getting it set up. Because of that day was hotter than I would like. Also numbers are probably not so accurate today. The sensor was not well positioned, and the tent flaps were wide open. Kept light on the whole time, bumped into it a few times. No damage to plants.

DAY 8 - 8/24/24 - No feed planed for today. Coco is ample wet, I plunged a pen 90% of the way into the soil in a ring around the mid outer edge, minding the root zone of the plants. Temp and humidity are stable in the range I am looking for. Couldn’t be happier. I am trying to reduce my fan usage now as much as I can. I have also introduced the humidifier into the flow. It is placed outside the right door of the secondary lungroom, near the pool table. I have it set to auto sustain ~60% for now, on low fan power. It is a 2 speed device. High or Low. I hear the system turning on for a minute or two and then turning off. Not producing too much heat right now. Pleased with the results so far. Monitoring closely. You will note, originally the dehumidifier was placed just inside the right side door, this introduced way too much heat, thus the move. The 40 inch fan sometimes gets stuck during its rotation. Monitoring that closely as well. Not terrible if it isn't oscillating, but it is no doubt better for the plants and environment if it is oscillating.
FEED: none. Coco wet, water at bottom of autopot.

DAY 9 - 8/25/24 - Plants looking good around 5:45 PM, took 2 pics, 1 just after night, 1 late thru day to compare. Also I recalibrated my PH pen, as its been about a week since I did it last. Matched the 7.0 and 4.0 vials. Some plant leaves are a little sideways bendy, maybe because 40 inch isnt rotating properly. Maybe because of humidity, the 40 inch does not rotate well at an angle, it gets hung up on the tent. I’ve adjusted it to be flat, not upward angled. Its a little more rough on the top coco layer, but the plants are growing nicely, I believe they can handle it. Temp and humidity before I started messing with it, last hour ave: T 74.8, H 57.8. I aerate the soil 12 times in a clock pattern around the outer ring of the pots. I shook plants around pretty vigorously to get the water off them. Gently, mindful of the early life stage of the plant, but decently vigorously. A little rough 'em up should be just fine at this stage.
Ok the most steady position seems to be A8 at level 6, light at 8, 18 inches from plants in veg, S6s st level 10, A6 at level 6, 27 inch tower at level 2, 40 inch tower at level 1, humidifier at, auto 60, low vornado at level 2.

DAY 11 - 8/27/24 - Notes taken at 1:20 PM Plants STILL wilty. Definitely no feed today. I want the roots to have some dry coco. May up the dehumidifier to hold at 55 H instead of 60. We are nearing the end of early veg and I still have about half the SRS feed left. Will much of it into my autopots which should be turning on in the next few days? I may still need to top water for a day or so when they first come on.
FEED: None.

DAY 12 - 8/28/24 - Yesterday I set the humidifier to point its spout near the stairwell. It is pretty close to the left of the outside of the right back doorway for the secondary lungroom. I turned up the 40 inch to level 2 last night. Plants should be able to take it, and I could use the extra air. I also set the dehumidifier back to 60 auto low. 55 hold was fucking up the VPD numbers, making them far too high. Good to remember for flower!
FEED: None.
Updated day estimates:
Real Night (8PM-4AM), temp remains stable, but is high, humidity is high, slowly rises over course of time. Lights out is a factor as it is in the middle of this for a quarter of the total time.
Lights Out (12-2AM), temp drops considerably. humidity rises throughout Lights Out. The numbers even out afterwards, then begin to drop as the time enters Real Morning about two hours later.
Real Morning (4AM-12PM), temp and humidity drop off low, then rise, change of 3-4 points throughout the day.
Real Day (12PM-8PM), temp rises slightly, humidity drops slightly over the course of time.
Current levels/targets are as follows.

DAY 13 - 8/29/24 - Plants looking pretty good. Back Left continues to stretch. Has some yellow on leaves, likely from being too close to the light. I noticed the 8 inch ducting had torn again. I spent time repairing that and adjusting the straps for the ducting system today. I am happy with it now. I also repositioned the fans, closed the top right vent, and have been playing with levels. Coco is nearly dry to the point where I want to feed. Will likely feed at lights on @ 2 AM tomorrow.

DAY 15 - 8/31/24 - Top right vent has been open since last mentioned. I plan on opening it around 6 PM today to see how that affects my numbers. The plants looked good late last night. A little yellow, I think its a light issue, tho it could easily be a nutrient issue. I should probably flush with PH’d water today. Might also do a proper feed at night or tomorrow morning depending on dryness of coco. Then I will set up the autopots with most or all of the rest of my early Veg A and Veg B. I wish I was able to see exactly when my dehumidifier is running and what those levels are. It would help me see how that affects my numbers inside the tent and out.
I opened the top right vent at 8:45 PM. I also watered and raised the light at this time. Possible veg feed planned for tomorrow plant morning around 2 AM.
FEED: @ 8:45 PM - 1 gallon plain water PH’d to 6.0. Poured out of the spout into the bottom of the center of the plants.

DAY 16 - 9/1/24 - Plants looking good around 12 PM. Everyone is reaching now. Back left still the tallest and strongest. I did not get a picture for day 15 (8/31) but I got one in the early hours of day 16 (9/1) so I will count that as the official picture for day 15. I will take a new pic later today for the official Day 16 picture.
I moved the humidifier inside the lung room, now near the back left door. Same setting 55, auto hold, low. Now it is properly dehumidifying the lung room, the hot air spout is pointed mostly out the door, and the whole system is further away from the intake A6 fan, which I extended slightly to be closer to the back right door. I moved the fan to pump air behind the 40 inch oscillating tower fan in the back left corner of the tent. Also adjusted sensor height, door was open for a bit. I hung ducting to get it out of my way. Very happy with this change. Changes happened around 5:45 PM.
FEED: @ 1:40AM Veg A, Veg B, Cal Mag, PH’d to 5.8.
FEED: Set up, turned on autopots, ran pump for a few minutes. Tank includes: 4 gal of water, 240 ml of Veg A, 240 ml of Veg B, 12 ml of CAL/MAG, 1.5 ml CS Run Clean PH’d to 5.8. Turned on @ 5:50 PM.

DAY 17 - 9/2/24 - Autopot reservoir has drifted up to 6.0 as of 1:20 PM. I will run the pump for a long time and then check again to see the balance later today.
All plants looking good. Back left is tallest and has some nute deficiency spots. I’ve angled the light to be high toward the taller plants and lower toward the smaller plants. I also adjusted th4e intake ducting back slightly and I moved the 27 inch oscillating fan to hit the two smallest. It is now positioned right in front of the bottom right vent flap. Plants seem happy overall.
Night was interrupted accidentally for about 5 minutes @ 12:10 AM.
I WILL ONLY BE RECORDING AVERAGES GOING FORWARD.

DAY 18 - 9/3/24 - Autopot reservoir has drifted up to 6.2 as of 10:45 AM. This is with the pump running all night. I see condensation on the sides and top of the water res. I don’t want to lose any to that, so I need to control when the pump is on and off. I added a gallon of feed, the last of the early veg nutes. Nearly at day 20, just as prescribed. The water res should run thru the 20th, then it's onto the next batch of nutes. Plants are growing taller and wider. They LOVE the autopot system. It is nuts. The plants seem to be evening out with each other. Not 100%, but they are closer overall than they have been. I PH’d the gallon of feed that I added down to 5.7. Added it to the water res, let the pump run a bit, now the PH is at 6.0 overall. I turned off the pump @ 11 AM.
I am still adjusting fans and settings. Moving the 27 inch was a game changer. I am considering moving the 40 inch in front of the left flaps. Maybe then I can get it rocking at an angle?
I was able to maintain temps thru watering and light raising this AM by controlling lights in adjoining lung room, and being quick and thoughtful about which flaps I am opening and by what amount. I want to keep the temps low, and the humidity where its at. My VPD is nice too. It warms thru the day, so I want to keep these optimal morning temps going as long as I can. Currently bussing along at T 75.5, H 59.4, VPD 1.22 nearly perfect!! And euch. I will be adding VPD estimates from the AC infinity app going forward, it just makes sense.
FEED: @ 10:30AM - Veg A 60ml, Veg B 30ml (?? I used what was left, it was not 60 ml as it should have been), CalMag 3 ml, PH’d @ 5.7, added to res at higher PH (6.0).

DAY 19 - 9/4/24 - Autopot reservoir has drifted up to 6.1 as of 1PM. PLants looking good. Plan on starting training today. Might switch up the 40 inch’s petition too. I wanted to leave the plants in the stable environment and have been trying to upset the tent as little as possible. I will have to do some work today and it will throw off all my numbers and values. I wont get averages again until tomorrow. Which is annoying, but the training should be worth it.
FEED: Autopot drip. Maybe 2 gals left? Should be on track for running out around day 20. I plan on flushing for a day in between cycles if I have the time. Just a gallon or so of flush.

DAY 20 - 9/5/24 - Plants still happy and good. I readjusted the training where needed. I cleaned the feed tank, filled it with a flush mix, dumped out the old nute water into a bucket and watered the plants topside.
FEED: Flush - 1 gal water, 3 ml of cal/mag, PH’s to 5.9

DAY 21 - 9/6/24 - Started the day with some tucking, raising the light, and adjusting the 8 inch just outside the middle of the fan. This lets me center my plants better and use more of the environment. Light is being raised pretty regularly, at least daily at this point. This is with the training going on! I started them ont heir first feed of Veg 2A/2B today at about 1PM. I added Silica, Cal/Mag, Kelp, and it balanced out naturally to a PH of 5.8. I didn't have to add any up or down. Makes me feel that I am doing at least something right. I added my last dose of dynomyco spark to the plants. Close to the top side, two patches on either side of the plant. Dumped a whole tsp into each hole. So 10 per plant total. I started low doses of additional nutes, will work up throughout the next couple of weeks. Added another full gallon of feed @11:30PM. The feed tank was down to about half or quarter a gallon. Also readjusted the light.
FEED: 1 gal water, Veg 2A 60ml, Veg 2B 60ml, Cal/Mag 4ml, Silica 2ml, Kelp 5ml, dynomyco spark 10 ml per plan delivered just under the top soil layer.
FEED: added the top unmixed water form the nute jars to the flush gallon from yesterday. I added all that to my watering can and watered the plants top side. This will invigorate the new dynnomyco. It keeps my roots and environment a little more moist than I would prefer, but I’m pretty sure the plants can take it,

DAY 24 - 9/9/24 - Night temps are off because the sensor was hitting the leaves. I readjusted the sensor when I raised the light just after 2 AM, got more accurate readings. It is really helpful to have different sensors in different areas so I know what is happening at different heights and locations. I have my main handheld sensor at bottom, front of the canopy, and the sensor somewhere near the middle top. I take an estimated average of these numbers and make my own conclusions from the multiple data sources. It would be a full time job to monitor and track everything as efficiently as possible. I am happy with what I am doing for now. I feel I am rightly on course for my second grow. I am learning, improving, and adapting. I cannot want for more.
I tucked, trained (bent) and raised the light. Trying to keep them al lrelatively evenm with each other. Damaged left back plant is doing great. Not sure if I will ever remove the transpire tape? We will see. I plan on letting the plants rest and grow a bit before I do more training. I will reassess in a day or two. It’s been about 5 days, I’ve adjusted twice, I snapped a main stalk. A better grower could be tucking and training 2 times per day at the rate that these are growing.
The feed tank drifted up to 6.0. I PH down’d to 5.7.

DAY 25 - 9/10/24 - Plants looking healthy this AM, feed almost down to where I am comfortable filling it up. Maybe no CS Run Clean this fill… I need to refill the feed tank and retrain the plants. Lots to do moving through week 4.
Raised light by 6 clicks, washed out old nutes from feed tank, PH’d to 5.8, watered top side, shook water off top leaves getting hit by light. Then I added the new feed to the tank. It is naturally PH’d to 5.9. I ran the pump for a few minutes. I’ve adjusted it to run at 50 percent power, maybe a bit more, but it is perfect now. Like a little fountain in my feed tank.
I tucked just a tiny bit. Will go over training tomorrow. Might unwind the current training tonight before lights out, readjust midway thru tomorrow or the next day.
FEED: Added to tank when tank next to empty: 4 gallons of water - Veg A 240ml, Veg B 240 ml, CalMag 18ml, CS Run Clean: 0.5 ml, Silica 12ml, Kelp 24ml.

DAY 26 - 9/11/24 - Seeing little cabbage heads on back left, and some other places but most prominent on back left. I retrained the plants today, getting some nice stretch and reach out of the branches now. I also readjusted the transpire tape. The top of the break looks thicker than teh bottom. I added a lot of tape and held it at an angle that should help it fix and not tear it apart. The feed tank drifted up to 6.0 PH. Light still at 80%, 18 inches from top layer. Not sure to switch light power in a few days or in 10 days.
I checked and retucked the plants at night. Already I see the heads pointed towards the light.
I used PH Down on the feed tank. It had drifted up to 6.1, so I brought it back down to 5.8. COuld have done this thru adding a new feed to the tank, as I had about 1-2 gallons left, but I was tired, I can do that in the morning.

Feed naturally PH’d to 6.0, I PH’d down to 5.7, added to feed tank, feed tank PH balanced out to 5.8. I have 2 gals of Veg 2 nutes left. Plants are rocking right along. Feeling good. Pre flower is sort of starting, not in full bloom, but will really start to get into gear in the next 4 days. I should also be done with the current round of nutes in about that time.
FEED: Added to tank when tank next to empty (1 gal left): 4 gallons of water - Veg A 240ml, Veg B 240 ml, CalMag 20ml, CS Run Clean: 1.2ml, Silica 16ml, Kelp 30ml.

DAY 30 - 9/15/24 - Going to defoliate today, 3/10 fan leaves, might start with less. We will see how many there are and how much damage I want to do. I want to keep stress low. Would rather do this over a week or so than all at once.
Heavy LST and light defoliation happened today. I patched up and limb breaks with more transpire tape. The plants love it. I think topping with the tape and closing with a clamp is the pro move. May have to pick some training clips and clamps before my next cycle. I know have 3 breaks in total. They are all healing nicely, no 100% breaks. I’d say 90% at the worst. I have 2 breaks on back left, and 1 break on ___. Will update on health tm.
I jazzed up the res last night with a half gallon of correctly PH’d water. The res was looking gross and soupy, so I ran the pump for a bit, turned this last veg feed into sort of a half flush feed. Plan on mixing up Flower 1 nutes tm. I need to do some research and refresh my mind on the right amounts of nutes and amendments to use for the start of the flower cycle.

DAY 31 - 9/16/24 - Plants good, res nearly depleted. Took me forever to get the new nutes into the bottle. Finally settled on shoving the B nutes into a funnel, pouring water, already measured from bottle into cup, then pouring water thru funnel. Took a few tries before I got to this solution. I dk how much of the nutes I lost out on. I don’t think it was too much, but I dont want to think about it too much. Might not switch nutes today, might give a flush with kelp silica, cal/mag, runclean, and PH’d water? I have no idea what the mix is in the individual autopot reservoirs. And the Speedrun Seeds people said that the nutes should really last about 20 days. If I am only getting 16 gals of nute feed from these bags, and the plants are drinking way more than 16 gals in 20 days, I need to slow it down with regular water, I believe. Attempting to slow down the feed today. I see some burning on the leaves, maybe my harty nute feed is the reason why,
FEED: Added 1 gallon of water, 0.4 Runclean, Cal/Mag 5ml, Silica 4ml, Kelp 5ml, no flower nutes, PH’d to 5.8.
FEED: Prepared, but not added to res, placed in grow room, covered, waiting for tomorrow or tn to be added to the res: 4 gals of water, Runclean 1.5ml, Cal/Mag 20ml, Silica 16ml, Kelp 20ml, Flower 1A 180ml, Flower 1B 180ml,!! NOT YET PH’D !!You will notice a reduced amount of Speedrun nutes in this feed batch. I am working it up to full flower and trying to push the nutes to stretch a little further. The bags say to feed at 60 ml for each gallon of feed water, but that is not right. The plants drink much more than that in late flower. I have no idea how these nutes will finish with the flowers, if I will have to fill the backend with a different brand or not. I don’t believe the error is on my end, I have been following the printed directions. I will reach out to support and see what they have to say.
Added new nutrient feed to res at night before lights out. Set light to turn on at 100% tomorrow. Flower officially starting now!

DAY 32 - 9/17/24 - Flower Day 1. Light at 100%, 18 inches from plants. Woke up this morning to a really ugly break. I actually noticed the break when I was top watering the old nutes on day 31. It looked taped enough, but I had it training. The damp mixed with the training pulled the branch past its limit. When I woke up today, I double wired it, covered in transpire tape, and prayed for the best.
I PH’d the feed tank to 5.7.
I reached out people about the SRS nutes running out, havent heard back anything yet. Considering finishing with Crop Salt if I have no other solution. No way I am winging it with a bunch of random non tested nutes off the shelf.

DAY 33 - 9/18/24 - Checked the broken branch last night. Did not look good. I pruned the branch this AM on the advice of some grower on Twitter. I would rather have the plant focus on growing new growth and strengthening the current bud sites than trying to fix a broken branch. It would have recovered to some extent. Whether that would have been worth it, I am not sure. I do not want to take the chance on this grow. Maybe in the future.
Res is almost empty. The nute issue is now officially a dilemma. I need to figure this out ASAP. Feed planned for later today.

DAY 34 - 9/19/24 - Glad I pruned the branch. Noticing a lot fo new growth over in that area of the pot. I did some minimal training, lots of tucking, and I removed a few fan leaves for better light penetration. I am very happy with the direction these plants are going. Still worried about the nutrient issue. May have to call SRS today because they haven’t returned any of my emails or socials. Plants drank a lot last night. PH had drifted up to 6.4, but that is fine. I got a coco soil PH meter yesterday, my initial reading was a little low (5.6) so I am hoping that the slight PH up drift will help correct that. I balanced the res down to 5.8. I will test the coco soil again either tonight or tomorrow. I think I may have to raise my temps a smidge higher is I want to lower the humidity down to the proper levels. I opened the top left vent and brought down my in line fan levels. Will report how this affects things. My temps are significantly lower than last year. This is due to the bigger in line fan, moving the water res and dehumidifier out of the tent, and because I started this grow about 2-3 months later than last year.
In pursuit of lowering the humidity, I moved the dehumidifier closer to the A6 intake fan. I also adjusted the clip fans to be pointed at the canopy, both oscillating, a little above the canopy, pointed down. No fans are pointed at the power brick currently. This is at about 3:30 PM. I also closed the top right flap again. I plan on using the fans to adjust my levels in a stable environment, I think that makes the most sense.

DAY 35 - 9/20/24 - For the past few days I’ve been undoing the training on the lowest branches. I realize now that I should have continued Veg 2, or an equivalent there of thru 40 days, or until I have “pinky nail sized nugs based on what Grant from Cropsalt told me. Regardless, I’ve chosen to run Cropsalt as it is similar to jacks, but easier to dose. I plan on using the concentrate form. I’ve been told the veg a/b, bloom a/b, and cake all make 125 gallons of feed. (375 total). For now I plan on buying the 1 pound bags, I also plan on running the SRS nutes around day 55-65 depending on how the plants are doing.

DAY 37 - 9/22/24 - I turned the front left plant to get better light on the lower parts. Most of my plants are at about the same height or getting there. More tucking, limited leaf removal, some wire training removal. Total wire removal is the goal in the next few days. I am worried, the stretch differences will be huge and I am afraid keeping the wires on for too long will snap branches or limit reach.
I messed with fan placement, trying to find a better situation, unable to do that, I moved the fan back to how it was. I also raised the small rotating fans to match the growing canopy. Rising the light too. I don’t need to keep mentioning that, do I? Trust that I am always either raising the light or rebalancing the light to be 18 inches from about the top of the canopy.
I also moved the dehumidifier closer to the grow room. No change in temp noticed.
I watched a great interview with Autopotamus today: (https://youtu.be/sJg3wzyiUls?si=usTc7IquEKeh5g5K) I learned that he does not scrog, he does not train, and he grows in 100% coco, and runs 24 hour light. No rest. I think a lot of his success is due to his knowledge about what the plants want, his location being close to the place where Autoflowers originated, the autopot system, and great genetics.

I moved the dehumidifier into the grow room, vent facing tent, air pumping outward. I am also playing with inline fan levels. Trying to draw as little power as I can. I may ended to replace to bigger, more expensive tower fan, the 40 inch. It does not rotate well anymore. Very sad. May replace with an adjustable height large circular fan, may require a trip down to the local grow shop (Eco garden Supply).

DAY 39 - 9/23/24 - Noticed a decently bad break last night. Would have lost the branch if I did not fix. I cov ered with transpire tape, the best I ever have. Nice planned dedicated, small pices. I also clipped the branch to a higher branch to split the weight. I have noticed great response and healing this AM. This is my last break that needs to heal. It healed a bit, I trained it back into pain accidentally, and now it seems that I have fixed the break, or at least set it up to heal completely.
All the training wire ties are off. I took them off last night. Glad I did or I would not have caught the failing branch.
The plants drank nearly 4 gals of feed yesterday. I am at about 1 gal per plant per day. Just before Day 40. Switching to my spare Cropsalt nutes from my first run. I still have about ⅓-½ bags of Bloom left. That should cover me until my new Cropsalt nutes arrive. I plan on running the last bag of Speedrun nutes at around day 60 or 65. They should last less than 10 days. Less than 8 days at that time, possibly.
I am adding a new batch oif the same feed value from yesterday. I will need to prepare a new feed either today or early tomorrow. As the plants will surely drink thru this. Maybe I run a flush?
I like that the humidity is coming down, but I do not like the multiple degree raise in temp. I am also worried that the dehumidifier is stealing water from my res. I am moving the dehumidifier to just outside the grow room.

DAY 40 - 9/24/24 - I started the day early in the plants’ morning by adding some of my old Cropsalt Bloom to the feed tank and raising the light by 4 clicks. While feeding, it looked like there were a few grains of salt that I did not dissolve correctly. Most of the mix was really good, but I saw a small amount of some residue on the bottom of my 5 gallon bucket.
I’ve been letting the plants reach and recover over the last few days. I plan on doing some more tucking and defoliating today. I have not done it yet (3 PM) because my numbers are solid and my levels are where I want them (T sub 75, H sub 58). I don’t want to disturb anything as that will throw off the environment and I feel like it can take 12+ hours for the environment to stabilize again.
I did some major defoliation today. It reduced my humidity and increased airflow, plants love it. Was careful in how much I removed. It wa as lot, but not the majority. I am trying to stick to 3/10. While defoliating, I noticed that a few leaves had orange spots, a bigger portion, but not too many were yellow or sickly or illformed. I removed most of the weak leaves I could find. I also removed a large portion of beautiful deep green leaves. Much more healthy than sickly and I removed almost all the sickly ones.

DAY 41 - 9/25/24 - I Moved the pots around a bit to make sure the plants are getting good light. Took a few leaves, tucked others, spread branches. I can already tell that this crop will be much larger than last years. At least that is what my gut is telling me just by looking at these things stretch and swell. I ensured the sensor was in a good position, and PH’d the res down to 5.7. My temps and humidity are pretty much where I want them. I am now determining how much water the plants are feeding, and how much is enough for a few days, let’s say 4 as an example. Would I be able to run the system without intervening in 4 days? Wouldn’t I need to adjust the light? I suppose it matters where the plant is at in its life cycle for those 4 days. A period of 4 days can look very different when the plan is stretching vs when the plant is flowering.
The plants seem to be adjusting to the Cropsalt fine. The tips have a bit of nute burn, but I believe this is fine. Fine enough at least.

DAY 47 - 10/1/24 - I notice the feed has slowed considerably. Possibly my light is better positioned? Possibly a problem I don’t know about? It does not seem that the feed has stopped in any way, but still this is something I want to investigate, and I will not be able to do so for about 6 days. I am preparing the environment for me to be gone for the next 6 days. 10/2-10/7. I am a bit worried that the feed res will run out. I am also worried about switching up the fan so close to leaving town. Surely this seems stupid, right?
Here’s my thought process. If I can get the light right, and I can get the feed full, and I can get the humidity and temp to where I am not wasting water to environment attributes, the feed will last longer thru my trip, the temp and humidity values will be more stable, and it should produce a better environment throughout my absence.
However, if even one of these things is off, my plan is busted from the get go. I am working to dial my numbers in, switch up positions slightly, and I am also messing with the port setup on my controller. See below for changes to my setup going forward.
Port 1: 8 Inch inline Fan
Port 2: Light
Port 3: UIS Splitter - Fans (1 x Cloudray S9, 2 x Cloudray S6)
Port 4: 6 Inch Inline Fan
S9 in back left corner, S6s in front left and back right corner, 27 inch tower fan in front right corner. All fans are below the canopy, pointed up. I am going back to the best practices in theory as I change out this fan and update my setup. In front of the vent with the vornado fan. Dehumidifier is near grow room door, set to auto 45.
I do not love having both the S6s and the S9 on one port. I would like the S6s at 10, and the S9 at about 8, but this is just a theory. Maybe it will be fine. I want my temps down and my humidity up just a smidge. The environment is stabilizing right now. (12PM) I will check the probe position and levels in about an hour or two. Day temps for today are going to be much higher than I would have liked.
Ok the temp, humidity level issue, was an autopot issue. I rebalanced the lines, and I believe water is coming thru adequately now. I will recheck in about half an hour where the water is at in the res. It is very important to monitor the height of the lines as this ia a gravity fed system.
I plan on reducing the kelp down to 3 ml/gal and upping the Run Clean to 0.4ml going forward.
I messed up my concentration. Instead of adding the packs to 128 oz of water (1 gal), I mixed each into 162 ml. Because of this I plan on feed 37ml per gallon instead of 30 ml. My updated current feed mix, including the adjusted concentration numbers are as follows.
This makes my current proposed feed mix ratio for the week:
1 Gal:
Run Clean: 0.4ml
Silica: 3ml
Kelp: 3ml
Cal/Mag: 5ml
CropSalt A: 5.1g OR 37ml

DAY 53 - 10/7/24 - Finally got a look @ 7:30PM! Front Right has been drinking the least. All the cocos are damp enough, or at least they seem to be close to the top side. The res for most were dry, FR the worst. FR has burn marks, dark crispy brown marks on leaves. It was possibly drinking the least. Also Back Right, Da Bush is on that secondary line. I should have put all the pots on a single line and I can rest that line going down. Definitely the plants on the back half of the autopot system (The Right side Plants) are not drinking as well as the plants ont he primary line. The is because of distance, positioning, slopes, gravity, etc. All very important. This is a fantastic Second grow. I am learning so much. Front Right looks stressed, more orange pistols than the others, crispy leaves, still growing tall and strong despite everything. The lines should be stable now, I have them sloped then flat. Last lines under First lines. Will check individual reses tomorrow.

DAY 54 - 10/8/24 - The plants need more water and I need to look at res issues. I am prepping a feed now, but I want to ensure the plants are getting their full flush. The autopot reses were pretty dry yesterday, I have not checked them yet today. I need to figure out my new dosage, I need to finalize the line fix, I need to ensure everything goes as well as it can over the next 30 days as we enter late flower and start to finish. I see about a month till I start Cake. I am happy with the amount of Cropsalt that I ordered. But I will likely need to order the 5 x 1 gal concentrate bags for my next run! At the advice of Planty on ChatGPT, I will lower the Kelp and Silica to 2 ml/gallon. I hear they need much less of this during Late Flower.
Took another look at the lines, shortened the back connecting line by half. Propped up lines and tied together at various spots. I rotated the primary outside reservoir by 90 degrees so the line is facing the tent. Individual reservoirs seem to be filling or at least connected for now. I will check again in a few hours. This is now the primary issue to nail down going into finish. Really, I should have had this settles long agp, and I thought I did. There is always a learning curve. My plants survived my trip. I am happy. Things are not as optimal as they could be, but we exist in the real world. Mistakes and bad things are bound to happen. All things considered I am so very pleased!
Proposed feed ratio for next week:
1 Gal:
Runclean: 0.4ml

CropSalt B: 2.6g OR 37ml

DAY 55 - 10/9/24 - Gave the plants a big haircut today. Big defoliation, not quite done, but looking really good. Going to let the plants recovers for a day or two before going back in.
There was a block in the tubing. Kelp I believe. I cleaned the sponge within the autopot res. I placed the lines properly within the tent. I rotated and spread all the branches. I am very happy with things now. The plants are back to drinking heavily, the feed is flowing. The air is cooling, and the environment is stabilizing. My temp and humidity levels are going to be all over the place today.
I left the water res pump running all night. I moved it to pump water at the sponge spout at the bottom of the feed. I left it on most of the day to mix up the kelp in the system. It might be worth it to dump that feed out? I will check tomorrow and see how much the system has drunk.

DAY 56 - 10/10/24 - Plants looking good. I rotated the pots, pushed the smaller ones closer to the center of the light. I also LOWERED the light a bit and filled the res with 6 gals of feed. I’ve left the pump on through the night and into today. I am trying to break up that kelp in the res. It looks pretty red and muddy when it is low, I may need to dump out the feed when it gets low. Maybe I feed that top side? Maybe I toss it?
The tent is smelling so fruity today. Yesterday it was all burnt rubber bands with some sweet underneath. Today the fruit overtook the rubber. I just want to sit in there now. I am letting the plants rest. I am also letting some spilt water finish evaporating before I give the trees another haircut. I see some Kelp deposits that need to be cleaned. It combined with itself and the silica to form little rectangles like what you find in bodies of water. Fascinating. I have the most trimming to do on the first two plants. I was too gentle when I started and I didn't cut the ends of the fan leaves nearly as much as I should have. I also want to be sure I cut off all the gross brown crispy leaves on Front Right.
My sensor probe is in a good spot, the lines have been positioned into optimal positioning, the plants are rotated and placed properly. I am really happy with this grow son far. I am learning so many lessons! Learning when to futz with the plant, when to let it be, how to feed, how to maintain the feeding apparatus, how to run a cool and stable environment. How MUCH coco feeds! Nothing about this run has been optimal. I have these short, stubby thick plants. They are gonna bush up and swell real big. I am glad I am growing without a scrog to see how the plants are working on their own. Not sure if growing straight up is the right move, or if manually bending via scrog is better. I keep waiting for the plants to curve a bit to bend a bit and lend more room to the smaller branches. Maybe this will happen as the flower sites swell? Maybe the branches will start to bend? I have no idea. All I know is that the next 30-50 days are going to be wild!

DAY 57 - 10/11/24 - Everything is looking good. I am noticing the bud sites are growing taller and thicker. I rotated and placed the plants for optimal light. I lowered the light a bit more. The feed is flowing, but very slowly. I wonder if there is a clog? The individual reses are full, the coco is wet. I am unsure what this all means.

DAY 58 - 10/12/24 - Rotated plants, res moving on down. Plants feeding, loving life. Temps a little higher than I would like. I spread and tucked the plants. They are making great progress. There is no more burnt rubber band smell. It has given way to a sweet, kind of citrus, bubblegum, cotton candy scent. All throughout. The bud sites are swelling and blasting out terpenes. Plants are due for another haircut in the next few days. Lots of moisture and stickiness deep within the plants. Top leaves are all healthy dark green, some slight nute burn at the very tips like I want, some slight dry burn spots on the already noted plants, no changes there. I still plan on cutting all the gross leave off. Maybe later today?. The bottom leaves, the newest, light protected growth are all bright light green, like the weird extra little baby arms on the scientist in that one episode of The Venture Bros. Some of the random “bigger” leaves that I left last time are now jutting through the middle of the plant, searching for light. I am trying to tuck more mobile lower branches on top of the thicker and more rigid branches. This will expose the lower sites to more light, and gently bend the bigger stalks until they accommodate the smaller ones.
I believe the flowers are finally starting to effect my allergies. Exciting!! And kind of annoying, but maybe this way I will build up a tolerance now that I know it’s coming. I will start additional allergy medicine to mitigate the sneezing.
I want the feed to run almost empty before I refill. Res has bout 1.5-2.5 gals remaining. The individual reses are still filling. When the feed is nearly empty, hopefully later tonight, I am going to check the sponge spout for clogs. I might dump the nute feed out and wash out the res. I am considering working the Kelp down to nothing. I need to do some research on solutions for this or if running kelp through a hydro system is just a bad idea altogether.

DAY 60 - 10/14/24 - Spent a lot of time over the past few days defoliating and trimming fan leaves. I hope I left enough. I don’t think the growth has slowed down and I do not notice any signs of stress. I believe the plants are nearly done stretching, now they should swell, and then condense as harvest comes nearer. Less than a month now.
I also moved the vornado van out of the front right vent towards the back of the room. Then I closed the vent. Temps are noticeably cooler. The inline and exhaust fans are can work a little lower now.

DAY 61 - 10/15/24 - Plants are drinking heavy again. I meant to mix up more feed last night, but I had to prioritize a gig that popped up. I fed a gallon of water between feeds. Not quite a flush, more of a nutrient stretch. I added 6 gals of proper feed in the early afternoon. I am very happy with how the plants look and smell and stick. I love the Autopots, I love Cropsalt, and Dynomyco, and I especially love Speedrun Seeds. Good companies. Good products.
Noticed a small leak, leading to an autopot individual res overflow on Back Right. I think I fixed it, but I need to double check tomorrow AM. The water blowing over the water will help cool the tent at least.
The tent smells so good, the flowers are getting so pretty.

DAY 62 - 10/16/24 - The leak seems resolved. Feeding normally now. A little moist in the tent from all the water evaporating. But everything is otherwise fine. I rotated and tucked and measured the light (no change recently). The feed lines seem good. The flower is packing and stacking. I wonder if it would be even more so if I got the veg nutes right. I assume the plant would have more plant to utilize in Flower. Maybe it would pack more and higher. I wonder about the difference in density.
For my next run I am going to run 4 of the dame plants, but grow them with different methods: no touching, Mainline, LST + Defoliating, and Topping + LST + Defoliating. I may choose slightly different methods, but this is where my curiosity is taking me right now.
Ok. There was another slight leak. I believe it is fixed now. I may want to consider taping the lines closed for my next run. Autopots are surely the way to go, but they do have weaknesses that can be mitigated with proper forethought,

DAY 64 - 10/18/24 - The leak seems to have been capped yesterday. I rotated and tucked the plants anew. Raised the light 2 clicks. More feed will be needed tonight or early tomorrow. I should probably do it before work tonight or I wont be available until at least 1 PM tomorrow. A new leak could potentially happen. Anytime I rotate a pot or trip on a cord or mess with anything aside from the light, there is a possibility. It happens when there’s a bend near the individual reses or if the tubes are not 100 tight on the plastic connectors.

DAY 65 - 10/19/24 - The fans at 10 seemed to bring the Tdown closer to what I want. H too. V was up near the top end of 1.6. It costs more to run it at these levels, I subtracted half a degree, not sure if its worth it. Current setup is Out: 8, In: 6, Fan DW 5-8 as of 1PM. Yesterday the set up was Out: DW 8-10, In, Fans: DW 6-8. I seemed to get the best air from the current set up. I got very nice temps on Afternoon Thursday Day 63 - Friday Morning Day 64 when the setup was thus. It may also have to do with the cooler weather, which is expected to return, regardless, here is some more information about that optimal seeming setup. Outdoor temp for 10/17: H 71 L 46 A 57.8, 10 18: H 74L 60 A 62.5, 10:19 H 66 L 60 A 62.5.
Ok. Looking at these values, I do not believe the outside weather was a factor in my optimal temps. Also, the house T and H values should not have changed at all within that time period.
More facts: I believe the leak was contained, the Vornado was out, vent closed, bottom side flaps open. Humidifier near the room, pumping set to 35 Auto. I will attempt to return to those levels, but maybe I only achieved those levels from the in fan blowing cool air over the pooled water from the leak. My H levels point to that NOT being the case, but we will see. As I attempt to return to these optimal levels. Everything I described is as I remembered it best, it may not be 100% factually accurate.
I am going to start looking at the trichomes with a jeweler's loupe this week. May also pick up a 4K USB microscope. I have a 1080 one, which is fine for my own uses. But for capturing content to post on socials, a 4K microscope would be best.

I assume they are doing good, I assume the feed is not leaking. I don’t want to disturb anything because it is 2:30PM and my values are sitting pretty around T 73.8, H 49.1 V 1.44.
I watched the environment stabilize through the night and then the morning, things seem good. I will check the feed tank and the flowers later tonight when the tent will warm anyway.

I don't want to be opening the tent too much for pictures or whatever because I want to maintain the low temps and keep the environment steady.
On raising the light, i've been doing so very slowly. Aiming the light of the tops of the mid level colas under the center of the light. There are a lot of little bud sites that I want to get as much light as possible. So I am splitting the difference. Most top leaves show signs of heat/light stress. That is fine for now. The bottom leaves are healthy vibrant green.
Each plant has fully developed their own look. Scents are fairly uniform throughout the tent. It is so cool to watch.

DAY 72 - 10/26/24 - I moved the intake fan to blow air under the big fan. I did a lkt rotating and ticking and making sure light distance and water lines are all good. Light is about 12 inches from tops of tallest colas, 18 inches from tips of colas in the center of the tent, about 20-24 inches from the tops of the shortest colas. Water running great, plants optimally positioned. Temps a little warmer, around 74-75. All things are good. I can now see just how much the Back Right plant was hit by the week of res line issues. It is shorter, less expansive, colas are smaller, and there are less colas in general. Also the leaves are sickly yellow uptop. Down below there is beautiful green growth, reflecting my adjustments. It is small and sort of sickly, but still good. Still smokable. The finish line is in sight, I am only refilling the res 1-2 times before cake. I am so excited, it is getting hard to wait. The smell is so good, so strong. Like a funky cologne. I don't wear cologne, but I would wear this. Planning to start cake around day 78. Trichs are full, some milky, no amber. It is officially Picture Day/Season, so expect higher than normal temps. I will try to keep it all under 78. The cold temps outside and inside the house will help with this. With about a week to go on the official clock, it is officially Cake Flush season! Right now I’m planning on flushing for two weeks, we will see if I need more or less as the plants develop. I separated and straightened the branches i.e. I undid the tucking. I’m not sure what is the right choice to get the plants the best light with current setup. This is where those 100w side bar lights would come in handy. Those along with my current 400w would bring my total wattage up to 500. This would be a good stop gap between buying a new 600+ watt light. It would also keep temps down considerably more (i would imagine) than the 600. Of course, I can play with distance more with the 600, but that would introduce more time spent min maxing and less time letting the system run on auto. I want to spend as little time as possible to get the best plants imaginable. I can mess around when I have more time. Like not during my busy season (festival season). But growing in different seasons in my current environment, means my outdoor temps are radically different. These are some of the things I am considering as I am learning more and as this grow progresses. I am glad I am writing this all down. I encourage everyone else to do the same.

DAY 79 - 11/2/24 - I retucked some branches, then retucked some more. I really don't know how to get the fresh under growth the correct amount of light before finish. I could always harvest the tops of the plant before the bottoms, but that doesn’t feel right. And I already switched to Cake. So what does that do nutrient wise? Is that new growth getting the right amount of nutrients for where it is developing in its own subcycle? I would guess no. This is likely one of the reasons why people prune the undergrowth to a desired extent? I will try to look at the finished branches and try to determine what is a good amount of space to save, and where to start and stop pruning essentially. I see the outcome of some of the damage I did by accidentally pruning by being too rough while the plants were young and growing. I also see some time branches that have risen to nearly the top layer, developing at least one healthy cola and a little spriggy branch.
I think I am going to harvest all the plants as they are, when they are ready. They seem to be finishing at about the same time. Not quite sure about Back Left, who look strong, and purple, but may be at a slightly different cycle because of all the cool air (the 9 inch) being pushed at it constantly.
Is that why the newer growth is at a slightly different cycle? Because the top colas near the light are finishing beautifully in the hot heat. Meanwhile, the lower newer growth is being hit with mostly cool air from outside the tent, from the intake, the open bottom flaps, and the fan air. There are multiple factors at play here. I am unsure to what extent every bit plays and in what amounts. This requires min/maxing, and science, and eugh, yet more reading and learning.

DAY 80 - 11/3/24 - Early morning (12AM) feed.
I am mixing the feed up nicely now, I plan on PHing exactly to 5.8. I think I should have done this from the start, but honestly that’s not what I’m most worried about. Back Right is a weakling. It fed too little for too long. She’s still kicking along, but I did her wrong and I feel bad about that. You can see she recovered nicely. The newer growth is all pretty, but she is an auto. She lives and dies. That’s that plan.
I plan on closing the bottom vents to increase heat, I will also position the intake to stop depositing cool air directly on the lower growth. I also plan on switching the position of the 9 inch fan with the weaker 27 inch tower fan. They currently sit in opposite corners, so the switch will be easy. I also plan on The 27 inch is really struggling to turn at this point. I have it pointed down, instead of up, because it is very difficult for it to retain motion while positioned upward. Something inside is bent after so much time spent like that, no doubt. I will replace it with a new 9 inch for next season. I will update with what I actually followed through on in my notes for tomorrow.

DAY 82 - 11/5/24 - Plants good. Nice and strong. I have repositioned some branches for optimal light penetration and I rotated pots for optimal light coverage. The feed lines are flowing, the T, H, and V are where I want them. I cannot complain. I plan on using this extra time I have, from the plants being on autopilot, to really dig deep into my drying and cure process. I have a good idea for what I need to do, but it never hurts to double check or get a different opinion.

DAY 83 - 11/6/24 - Everything is good. I moved the circular fans high and pointed down at the canopy. That should cool the tops and warm the bottoms? Or keep the heat more even throughout the plants.
I want to stretch the plants out int he tent to give them more room, but I also need to prioritize their placement under the center of the light. All is good, but I want all the branches to be able to flow where they want to, and I am not quite there yet. It is not a space issue, but a light dispersal issue. I need side lights and I need more coverage.

DAY 85 - 11/8/24 - Still good. I could chop today. I wont. I’ll capture all my media, I’ll keep running cake for at least five more days. I am happy, they’re happy.
FEED: 6 gal water, 180ml CS Cake, PH’d to 5.6.

DAY 86 - 11/9/24 - Numbers good. Have not looked in on tent today. I plan on this being a big photo day. Expect higher or lower average temps. As the tent door(s) will be open for significant portions of time,. The sensor will be ill positioned, and I will have my hot running body in the tent, close to the light and the plants. Idk which way the temp will move. Probably hot, but it really depends where the sensor is. The plants have been drinking like crazy. I think it is because the PH of my coco is finally stable in the correct range. Also the tube position helps, as does the colas being close to the light. They are drinking heavy, they are full and lush, they are swaying and flowing and swelling and growing. This will surely be a great harvest, but I wonder what this could have been if everything went 100% and according to plan. Next grow. They grow will be phenomenal. So long as I plan properly, can check and change the tent’s parameters daily, and so long as I keep the res feed PH level stable and I use the canna coco which I hear retains a stable PH level better than other types of coco. The quality matters. Next run will most likely be 100% coco. Also I will use the dynomyco correctly. And place it in the optimal zone in the optimal amounts.
Plants are at just less than 1:10 amber trichs. I plan on harvesting at about 3:10 amber trichs.

DAY 87 - 11/10/24 - All good. Took some pics. Everything is pretty, t where I want it, H where I want it, V is the right range, but at 1.7 its a little high. I think 1.5-1.6 would be better, but probably not a huge issue at this stage in the game.

DAY 88 - 11/11/24 - All good. Moved the tower fan down to speed 2 and I moved it and the intake fan to the center front of the tent. I want optimal airflow and rotation out of that dying fan as we finish up here. The plants are all bright white with trichs. Some plants are thicker and heartier and fuller than others, but all are good. Or adequate at least. I cannot wait to weigh these! Just 4-10 days left. I am VERY excited! I could harvest now and be all fine. I basically made it. I want some more time for my own preference, but I think we made it. We are past day 80-85, the plants are full and finished. Nice fall colors on the toppest leaves. Bottom are still bright, healthy green which is why I want just a bit more time. Most pistols are orange, more amber trichs than before, but we are not at 3/10 just yet.
A note on cameras and lenses: This is more a personal note for myself, but if you are into photography or my entire process, even beyond the grow, read on.
I plan on taking pictures with the 50mm and the microscope today. The 85mm’s minimum distance is a bit too far for the closeups I am looking for. Yes, I can crop in, in post, but that is tossing valuable pixels away. Not very professional. The 20-60 is a bit too wide and the max mag is too small, but I do like the flexibility. I think the 100mm would be my go to, but I need to try it out first. The 1:1 mag is what I am looking for. Also planning on picking up a 70-200 or 70-300 for animal portraits, but this is a discussion for a different document. I believe either the 28-200 or 70-200 has macro function, but I need to double check which one and what the price difference is.

DAY 89 - 11/12/24 - Forgot to turn the water back on, so the plants didn’t drink for about a day, but all is fine, they drank like 6 gallons today. I added another feed tonight. Harvest day is coming, not much I can do to ruin the grow now. I’m not worried.
I took pics with the 50, 85, and microscope today. I plan on shooting video with the camcorder and the and the 20-60 tomorrow. Picture season is coming to an end. Chop day is right around the corner. I spread the plants for maximal airflow. Light is no longer optimal, but it is fine.

Concerned about some light colored pistols on Back Left, but lots more amber trichs are appearing. The THC is starting to degrade. I added another feed while I wait and watch the plants.

DAY 95 - 11/18/24 - Chop day. Lots of shots. I chopped up the two weakest and threw em into the dryer. Chopped around 4PM, started with the smallest/weakest (Da Bush and Breaker) took pics, chopped another, took pics, chopped em all, group pics. Then I separated the stems from the main stocks.
I Cut the buds front he stems from the weakest plants and threw them into the dryer. I have two main sheets of primo nugs and (1 per plants) and 2 trays fulls of sloppy goodness per plant. Can’t wait to see how they turn out!
I left the two strongest plants together on the big stems – separated from the stocks, ofcourse. I ran out of steam after a long day of harvesting and filming. So I left the stocks separated by plant piled on top of each other.
Plants ended up in the dryer around 2 AM.
DAY 96 - 11/19/24 - I hung the remaining plants up in the tent. I cleaned out the pots and the dirt, I am going to soak with run clean, may do multiple soaks, we will see.
So the big plants are hanging in the tent, the little ones I stuffed into the herb dryer. There are also some smaller stems laying on the trim tray on the floor of the dry tent.
DAY 97 - 11/20/24 - I plan on keeping the big plants tucked away in the tent in the dark for a few more days before I check on them. I will check on them when the herb dryer timer has counted down. The timer lasts for four days. I plan on checking the stems tomorrow night at three days time. I will see if I need that last 4th day or not.
DAY 98 - 11/21/24 - I might’ve fried the weed I stuffed into the grinder. All the trays are pretty starkly dry, the bottom tray, that was not really a tray did not dry the right way. I should have used the moisture shot and checked every 6-12 hours. Who knew.
I placed the dry ass schwag into my grove bags. I’m going to try to revitalize with Boveda packs, but I am not super hopeful. The temperatures got cold and dry over the past few days and I was not incorporating that data into my calculations. I am not too bummed. I did not do this run to grow the bestest weed. I want weed, and I want good weed, but I want to learn and get better more than I want to hit it out of the park. You learn more from fucking up. It sucks, but it is true.
The good news is that the chlorophyll smell is pretty gone from the Herbs Now dried weed. I want to run it through a bowl trimmer, but I need a little more moisture back in the bud or the trimmer will act more like a shredder. Not a bad way to grind up shwag, but that is a pretty dire “solution”.
The weed that is air drying in the tent is going well. I will monitor that closely over the next couple of days.
DAY 99 - 11/22/24 - The dry continues.
DAY 100 - 11/23/24 - The lower trays from the Herbs Now Dryer were not totally dry, so i have those drying in the tent, I also have some open backs drying in the tent, trying to knock out that chlorophyl smell.
DAY 101 - 11/24/24 - I’ve started trimming branches from plants when they are done. I am monitoring things closely and trying to give the plants the time they need. The top trays from the herbs now are pretty good, but I am pretty sure I messed it up and would do many things differently next time. I am about done with this journal now. The drying is finishing. I am trying to keep everything on track. I will add some notes as I have them, but this is the end of daily updates. Thank you for coming along on this adventure! I had so much fun and learned so much! ANd the purplest weed actually smells really good. If I got 1 plant of 8/10 weed from this cycle, I will be stoked. I will add notes as the cure develops, but as it stands idc if the herbs now dryed bud will recover, The two best plants are drying nicely, tho they feel awful light and larfy. I definitely plan on pruning more of the lower bud sites next cycle. I have a lot of pop corn nugs. Which isn’t bad, but they are a pain to trim. I bought a bowl trimmer. Plan on running the bud through it, we will see how that works.
DAY 101+ - Final Thoughts:
The bud trimmer massacred my buds. Saved me a huge amount of time in trimming tho. But I lost a huge amount from my premium nugs. All the breakable top bits were mashed and pulled away. All the time I saved in trimming, I made up for with sifting for buds. I spent whole days doing that. Would not recommend. There must be some sort of happy medium and I cannot wait to find out what that looks like.
Hanging to dry works the best. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. But the Herbs Now dryer is an impressive little monster. When not overloaded, when monitored correctly, it can function beautifully. I was thrown off by a rapid change in humidity and temperature due to the season, and because of that and the overstuffing, my own faults really impaired the end results. In short, device = good. My incompetence = bad. Highly recommend growers pick this up or something similar as it si a great tool to have on hand for a wide variety of purposes.
I stored my bud in some Grove bags to cure. I brought the overdried plants back to life by putting a damp paper towel in a plastic cup, placing the cup in the Grove bag, and letting ti cure for a few days at a time that way. I would change the paper towels and cups and shake around the weed for fear of any mold buildup. To clarify, I had no mold. I also placed some Boveda packs in the bags. Initially a mix of 58 and 62, then all 62 as those work best.
I also bought some C-Vaults. The Grove bags tear very easily, they are not meant to be opened often. C-Vaults are great, but too expensive for me to buy all that I need at this moment. I am going to wash out some old mason jars, then when I am pleased with the weed being cured properly, I plan on moving the weed from the bags into the mason jars.
Thank you all so much for reading this far if you have. I hope these insane ramblings end up helping future growers. If you are interested in Autos, try them out!! They hit hard, they grow quick, and certain strains are basically idiot proof. My only recommendation is this: you need the autopots to grow autos correctly. These plants have a near insatiable thirst for nutrient rich water. Give them what they want and they will give you what you want. See you all back hear for my next grow. Most likely another auto, most like Dreamcast or God Particle from Speed Run Seeds, but maybe another later generation, more stable strain. If you have any preferences or are curious about a specific strain, let me know. I may not get to it this year, but I have, hopefully, 50+ remaining years to try to fit it in.
