Onto week 2 of my first grow, on day 13 i'm noticing that on my AK47 there is a slight cupping on the first set of true leaves and on my NLxBB there are rust spots developing on the first set of true leaves. I'm going to monitor and water with normal PH'ed water for my next watering and maybe go with just Cal-Mag with the feedings afterwards.

On my NLxBB there appears to be rust spots developing on both sets of the first true leaves, i've only fed nutrients once on Day 10 and that was at quarter strength. Not sure if this is a sign of overwatering or if I need to start feeding with Cal-Mag more regularly.

hi there so you have three problems. first of all overwatering, you can see from the "puffy" space in between the veins of the leaf and the wrinkled leaves that you're overwatering , this will actually shock the plant a slow growth. this article tells you what's going on with the leaves : https://www.royalqueenseeds.com/blog-what-causes-curly-cannabis-leaves-and-how-to-cure-them-n923 here s a fool proof technique that will help you figure out when you need to water : www.youtube.com/watch Third, and this the easiest problem, the actual rust spots on the leaves : calcium deficit. Calcium has uptake by the roots at around 15% efficiency, and by the leaves at around 9°% efficiency. So simply use a foliar spray with a saturated solution of cal mag , spray until dripping wet several times a week and the plant should recover within 5 days and start to thrive. hope this helps ! 🚀

@CRiSPrGrow, Yes! Thanks a lot your information is super helpful! I was pretty sure I was having issues with overwatering and you've definitely confirmed it, I don't believe I was allowing the coco further down to dry enough before watering again, the lift test you linked for watering will help with that. I'll be spraying them down with the diluted Cal-mag solution once the coco looks to be dry, thanks again!

To answer your question: Guess feeding is a sure way to have trouble. When feeding in coco and hydro an EC/PPM meter is a must. At this stage you should feed mainly 0.5 EC (250 PPM) worth of cal mag and raise 100 PPM weekly with veg nutes.

@@Athos, ah thank you i've suspected I should get a EC/PPM meter to go along with my PH tester, i'm pretty sure my tap water here will also show high PPM so i'll need to filter or maybe use spring water from the store. I've been keeping my PH around 5.8-6.2 but have no idea where my EC/PPM levels are at. Added to my amazon list!
