Growing an Auto and photo together. I'm not concerned with the quantity at harvest, latest grows have been trying to find strains that work for my partners medical use. I only did 3 weeks of veg and noticed around 4 weeks into flower that the Auto was a week behind. She seems to have been doing ok under these conditions yet I think the 12/12 light has caused yellowing throughout the whole flower stage. She has been dropping 2-3 leaves a week. She looks like she will make it to the finish line though. The Critical Cure has performed nicely throughout the grow, had to adjust her PH down to 6.5 during flower, run off was high, 7.2. I'm not a novice but she was yellowing at beginning of flower and that seemed to solve the issue. Her buds are dense and heavy and a decent size. I usually get around 106-190 grams when growing one plant under the same conditions and by the looks of these ladies I should achieve that between the two.
The Critical Cure has finished her first week of just water and noticeably feeding off of the fan leaves. I haven't seen any further growth size in the buds, just about all the pistils are dark orange and the trichomes are over 90% cloudy. I'm going to do one more plain watering and then let the soil really dry out and harvest her at then end of week 10, if not sooner. The trichomes on the buds could start going amber any day and the sugar leaves are covered with amber. The Amnesia Haze has really put on a growth spurt and the buds have just about doubled in size and the nodes are starting to grow together. She is my first sativa hybrid at 80% Sativa so I think she needed more nutrients during flower. From a quick deficiency guide I acquired several years ago, her symptoms match a lack of nitrogen going into flower and not enough magnesium during flower. Fox Farm feeding schedule stops cal/mag at week 5 of flower. In the past I used it all the way through but this time I stuck to the chart, it didn't seem to bother the Critical Cure which is 80% Indica.
The buds on the Amnesia feel dense but lack the heavy feel that Critical has. I'm starting plain water on her and see how the next two weeks go.
I decided to harvest today. It was time to water her but she had already feed off the fan leaves enough to turn them all yellow and I didn't want to harvest her freshly watered and I didn't want to lose any sugar leaves since I don't trim them.. I will trim the bigger ones, if present, and any fan leaves with trichomes to make cannabutter. The sugar leaves are covered with amber trichomes and here and there on the buds. I only veg'd her for three weeks and coming in at only 18" tall, she is stout and bulky with some nice dense buds. I anxious to see how much weight she drops by the end of the first week. Coming in at 278 grams wet, the whole plant, I would think I should be left with 100 grams but well see. That's plenty for us to decide if we will continue grow this strain.
It's the end of week 11 for the Amnesia Haze. I was anxious to harvest her last week last week but decided to wait after seeing more growth and weight being added to the buds, the branches are leaning against the support string now. She started producing her foxtails, trait of this strain, they add a whole new dimension to the look. She should be ready very soon, there's still quiet a few white pistils going on.
It was time to harvest. I may have started flush a little soon, she ran out of food, all fan leaves yellow and falling off. She is in the harvest window with cloudy trichomes but I think she could have went another week. She is covered in trichomes
