For future grows I will start soaking in paper towels prior to rockwool - thus allowing for chemical and physical scarification if necessary. It is also possible that there was some lingering chlorine/chloramine in my tap water, hasn't been an issue thus far but measuring dechlorinator for small amounts is tricky.
