THC3 So I decided to give some defoliation a try and took all fan leaves off the main stem and about 50% off any branches. I'll give them a week to recover from this and to get over the light burn having adjusted the lights and then I'll flip them to flower. I also topped all of them.
They stay at a friends place and I hadn't had access to them for 2 weeks hence them growing too close to the lights and getting burnt :(

THC3 Bounced back big style after their first defoliation on Monday.
I’ve flipped them to 12/12 and we’ll see how it looks in another week.

THC3 No sign of flowers coming after the first week of 12/12, flowering always seems to be slow to start with these LEDs, not sure if that's a regular symptom. This is my first LED grow.

THC3 Nodes are offsetting and bunching with internodal length showing some stretch. Only limited flowering so far. My limited experience with LED so far leads me to think the flowering start is slower than with HPS. I'd be interested to see what anyone else thinks.
But anyway, they're growing nicely. I've defoliated them today, as seen in the before and after pics and I think this will kicks things into flower nicely.

THC3 Coming along steadily. I've added a scrog net to try and keep the overall canopy level down, in particular a couple of the tallest tops.

THC3 So this week the friend who I stored these with informed me he was moving out and I had to move them.....dammit!
Plants hate being moved as most people know but I’ve tried my best and they seem to have settled into their new venue ok.
The only real bummer was the 2 biggest plants lost 4 of their heads :(
But all things considered it could have been worse.
They’re smelling terrific the buds are small but swelling nicely and I think I’ll still get an ok harvest from them.
@CRiSPrGrow, it’s a silicate compound added to the nutes. Silica promotes stronger cell walls so makes for strong roots and stems and also makes the plants less prone to pest attacks. A very worthwhile additive. Silica is available in a number of forms and can either be an acid or alkaline base. Shop around you should find some type local to you. Well worth using I feel.
@THC3, i actually had some micro biologists make me my own canna-specific micro mixes, i'll be putting up my tests in my new diaries... i feel there's a lot of FUD-y nutrients out there, and not enough (FUD-y?) micro available on the market... might have to launch my own... not sure yet if I want to lose money on this lol
@THC3, ha yeah FUD means possibly intentionally false statements meant to instill doubt or fear, in this case "oh no do i really need 12 bottles of nutes for my plant?"... totally normal for the plant to flower slowly, on the other hand i've been researching using the far red spectrum intermittently and at lights off for 15 minutes to induce faster "sleep" this could perhaps help with the slow flowering
