First try since it's legalized here (YaY) and everything is set up in the basement. Together with a camera, temperature and humidity sensor connected to a raspberry pi 4B. Let's see when the house starts smelling funny ...
Temperature and humidity looking good. Sound of the whole system running is not to loud. Lady in the holy Trinity picture on the bottom left got a bit to much of not-enough-light so she decided to increase too much in hight.
Added a little bit of fertilizer at the end of the week and they started growing this huge leafs. Temperature when light is off is a bit concerning, approx. 18-19 °C. Hopefully not much lower in the next days.
Summary for week 3:
Finally, after 2 and a half weeks, my second light (the first one was damaged) arrived!
Temperature was in a good range (min: 18.9°C, max: 29.1°C) and my fears of cold nights didn't come true. However, in terms of humidity, it does not look so good. When the lights are on, the minimum humidity is close to 36%, and adding a wet towel and a pot of water helped to keep it above 42%. When the lights were off, the humidity reached up to 82%.
My ladies had some huge growth spurts this week. The largest one is now approx. 25 cm tall and the other ones are at 20 cm. They can now all stand on their own, and the stems look really strong. They look a bit bushy, maybe I have to find out how to trim them or is this related to a low humidity?
They also started smelling. They grow up so fast :'). Let's see what the next week will bring! (Spoiler: timelapse video of the first 4 weeks :D )
When I arrived at home a few days ago, I already could smell that it was time to set the air filter to 24 h mode. The automatic blueberries started to grow flowers. Pink Rozay doesn't grow flowers, so I have to decrease the light a bit, I guess. I also noticed that I have to give them more water. Sadly, they got some yellow dots but they should be strong enough to forgive me. I think, for my first grow ever its looking fine. Still have to learn a lot but it's fun and great to see them grow :)
I could not upload the timelapse video here, so you i had to use youtube https://youtube.com/shorts/VSxtfVqXjp8?feature=share
I switched from 18/6 to 12/12 a few days ago and I think Pink Rozay finally (aka hopefully) starts to flower. The blueberries look really nice and it smells sooooo good.
I love the look with these long white hairs. I think Little Blueberry has some problems. Some small stems started to change color to purple and a few of the lower leafs started to have yellow/brown spots. I read, in the worst case it's related to the roots. For the humidity, I already bought an dehumidifier and it hopefully arrives tomorrow.
Good news is, pink rozay started to grow tiny little pre-flowers. The blueberries won't like it because I had to switch to 12/12. However, the aim is learning not maximizing output. All flower pictures of this week are blueberries.
I think harvesting time is coming closer for the blueberries because some leafs started to change color. Either this or reducing the fertilizer has this effect. Besides this, I am very happy to finally see tiny flowers on pink Roazy. The dehumidifier is doing okay. So far, it's able to keep the humidity at approx. 55 % all the time. Let's see what the final week's will bring.
Yesterday, I had to harvest little blueberry because it didn't look healthy anymore. She yielded in 154 g wet so hopefully in the end it's 40-50g of consumables. The trichomes didn't look ready for a indica strain, meaning they only had the milky look. The other Blueberry is also fighting but the trichomes do not look ready yet.
I like big blueberry buds and I cannot lie! Look at these buds ! As you can see, it's autumn time for the last blueberry. In the next few days its harvesting time, so this will be the last picture of blueberry.
Currently, I am so happy and excited to test the final results.
Weather forecast predicts the first snow
within the next days/weeks. Let's see what does that mean for my basement. However, I already ordered some heating. So pink Roazy hopefully has more time to grow.
It's getting cold outside and so does the basement. The coldest temperature at night was still above 15°C in my basement, however the temperature will drop in the next days. Fortunately, the heating arrived so I can prevent the large temperature drops. Pink Roazy shows some signs of too much fertilizer so currently I switched to water only. Let's if we can make it till the final harvest!
Little Blueberry (7L pot): 154g wet, 29g dry and trimmed consumables
Blueberry (11L pot): 384g wet, 67g dry and trimmed consumables
11 days after little blueberry, I harvested the last blueberry and I was surprised by how heavy some buds are and now I am so excited for the first taste test in a few weeks after curing.
Considering this was my very first grow and I did a lot of things wrong, the plants were very strong and seem to forgive my mistakes generously. That's a sign of good seeds!
Pink Roazy ist the only one left behind. She is fighting but I think I messed up with the fertilizer. I think she needs 2 more weeks at least but I don't think she will last that long because of coldness and incorrect fertilizer usage. Let's see what will happen in the next days.
2 weeks after the last blueberry, I had to harvest pink Roazy because the roots went bad. This was totally my fault. However, the trichomes looked okay. Unfortunately I didn't measure the weight so I will only add the weight when everything is dried and trimmed.
Pink Roazy is a really bushy lady and if you don't mess up as I did, you will see some nice purple here and there. It was fun growing but I think I will stay with automatic strains for the next grow.
58 g dry and trimmed
All in all, this grow and drying consumed ~ 475 kw/h = 190€. If I ignore the ~1500€ for equipment and stuff then this was a really cheap grow :D mistakes where made ... Alot ... However, it yielded in 154g dry and trimmed and I am satisfied with the results. It was fun and I can recommend it 100%.
