Starting this project a little over a week behind to help a few friends follow along during their first time seed to harvest and be able to have visual references. This is meant to be super basic for dummies Going to lay the foundation of what we'll be working with: •For this grow I'll be using the Vivsosun Smart Grow Tent Kit Pro 2.7x2.7. The light is dimmable with an adjustable spectrum. We're going to be using the 3 default seedling, veg, and flower settings. •Usually I use Advanced Nutrients but for this we switched it up to the FloraFlex Starter Kit which comes with V1, V2, B1, B2, Bulky B, Full Tilt, Veg Foliar, and Bloom Foliar. Won't use the foliars. The reason for the switch is because it's cheaper. For 50 bucks the homies have pretty much everything they need. •Mother Earth Coco + Perlite (70/30) •8" (0.9 Gallon) PotPro Drip Irrigation Kit which comes with pots, drip system, and pump. The rubber tube for the bubbler is super annoying so our easy fix was to pick up some PVC for under 20 dollars. •The reservoir is a simple tote with a hole cut on the lid for the pipe. •In the tote we got an air stone with an air pump. •The Happy Crop genetics 09/05/2024 Never tried popping seeds on top of water so grabbed 4 solo cups and figured I'd give it a go. Filled the cups with dechlorinated tap water and pH to ~5.65. Decided on 2 Guava Frosting and 2 Black Out x Biscotti Ice Cream. Both fem autos from The Happy Crop. 09/09/2024 Probably should've checked up on them a day sooner but waited for my weekend to be able to get all the pots and everything else prepped so it is what it is. In the morning I filled my reservoir with 2.5 gallons of tap water then let it chill for a few hours running oxygen through it. Came back to it and added 2 grams of FloraFlex V1 + V2 then pH it to ~5.75. While filling the pots I poured some nutrients mixing the coco with my hand making sure to get everything moist. In the end I used about 1-1.5 gallons but this will vary due to the dryness of your coco. I threw the pots into the tent and turned the light on to allow everything to dry up a little and settle in. Came back later that night with my solo cups and got to work. This was the first time I actually looked at the seeds but I wasn't concerned if they didn't germinate because I would've just dropped new seeds into the pot. Guava Frosting #1: Took a dive and was underwater for an unknown amount of time. Super small taproot because of this? No idea, never started on water. For labeling purposes in the tent she got named Jr. Guava Frosting #2: Decent size taproot. She was ready for her pot. Black Out x Biscotti Ice Cream #1: Huge taproot. Definitely ready for her pot. Black Out x Biscotti Ice Cream #2: Little bit smaller than Guava Frosting #2 so also got stuck with Jr. I made a hole with tweezers in the center of each pot and dropped each taproot in, covering the hole leaving the top of the seed exposed. Tossed on a humidity dome and it was a wrap. Temp inside was around 75 but had a low humidity issue. Tossed in a solo cup of water for a temporary fix and it worked. Light at 60% on seedling. 09/10/2024 The girls are starting to make their way up. Coco was looking a bit dry so hit the top of the dome and the surrounding area with about a solo cup of tap water with no nutrients. Light at 60% on seedling. 09/11/2024 Took off all the domes. Both of the Black Out x Biscotti Ice Creams were coming along as expected. I probably prematurely assisted the Guava Frostings in coming out. This is where I saw Jr was going to start giving me an issue because of her small taproot. I should've put her just a bit deeper into the coco as she's starting to come up a little ...odd. Light at 75% on seedling. 09/14/2024 All of the girls are up. Added about 7 gallons of water to the reservoir making it a little over 8, and added 23 grams of V1 and I believe 16.5 grams of V2. pH ~6.5. Hit them with probably 1.5 cups of water this time from the reservoir. Light at 85% on seedling. 09/16/2024 Trying to keep the environment as closed as possible in the early stages. Been monitoring on the phone. Pots looked a little dry so hit each with about a cup again. Today marks Day 7 in the pots. Light at 100% on seedling. 09/17/2024 Hit the girls with about a cup 1.5 of water each. Due to me not putting Guava Frosting Jr in deep enough in the coco with her small taproot, she pushed the seed up a bit before growing down so I had a bit of the taproot exposed. Added coco at the base. This will fix itself once the trunk beefs up. Going to try to add a little support to get her through the tough times. Light at 100% on seedling still. Will switch it to veg in a couple days.
