Welcome to my diary! All 3 plants have had the same training: Topping on day 12 - 16 above the second node, mainlining and creating 8 main branches. Then removing lower nodes by feel until I have a good structure. That being said, these girls had a ROUGH veg because of me not being careful enough, but at this point I am very happy and pleased with the structure of the plants. :)
Guava was literally split in half from the stem. It ended surviving with tape and support structures and is now on turbo mode in w1 of flower.
Cookies also had a branch snap on w3 and pulled through.
Also they now have fat knuckles in the stressed out parts. I'm thinking they will be very useful later if these branches get heavy with frosty buds! Cookies is showing no signs of flowering yet and is gearing up for a mighty yield.
Chem has just been cruising from the beginning. I LOVE their stocky structure and how easy they are to train.
Watered today 6.2 heavy feed for chem, light feeding for the others since the new growth had some nute burn.
See you in the comments and look for updated next week!
Busy week for these girls!
Since last week:
Guava is happy, gained 10cm in a week, and is now in w2 of flower. Watered today with a heavy feed of tripart + calmag @6.2pH. Lets see how she progresses with budsite development, they are starting to pop up. Gave her a haircut also.
Cookies is just magnificent and has flipped to flower! You can really see it after the defoliation. Watered her with the same feed as guava, but diluted it 20% with water and then pH to 6.2.
Chemdog is so thick in the center that the middle budsites struggle to get light. Performed a light defoliation and tightened the LST straps. It definitely improved the situation, and you can now feel the air through the plant. The budsites in the middle are developing well! She is now taking only TA FinalPart @pH 6.4 until the buds are just ready, then a flush. I am thinking 2 weeks left for her. She is like a gasssy smelling bouquet of buds!
The garden looks completely different this week, and smells totally awesome. Chemdog reeks of gas and citrus and the guava has developed a sweet but pungent smell.
The short chem girl will get a final flush soon, and I will wait a bit for the middle buds to develop some more. I will post trichome shots tomorrow of her.
Guava is bulking and developing more and more long white hairs. She is easygoing and has required the smallest amount of defoliation.
On the other side is the cookie monster. She is still stretching. I spent 5 hours defoliating and performed a supercropping for the main branches to get more use of the light. She recovered very well and it is paying off with a very nice structure to hold a lot of buds!
No yellow filter after resetting the camera :)
Cookie lady is just drinking and growing. She is currently drinking 8 litres every 3 days, but also putting that to work. She bounced off the supercropping and with LST she now has a great canopy to develop buds. They are coming on fast! She has also been super bushy, so I have defoliated heavily with every watering during flower. Lets see how much bud these branches can hold.
Guava is bulking up every day. She was flashcleaned today, since she has been on a very nutritious diet. You can see she is holding some nitrogen. I will wait for her to dry, then start giving her finalpart. 2-3 weeks left for her. This plant is so resilient and easy going. Just LST and very little defoliation.
As for her final week, she was flushed with flashclean and ice water until the runoff was clear. I then placed her pot full of ice cubes. She is smelling like a wet dog and gas and the buds seem super dense.
I will update as she cures.
Hello hello!
I am super impressed with the guava. She is just the easiest plant, and developing mesmerizing buds on top of that. These buds are massive and have an awesome shade of cold purple coming at this late stage. She has 1-2 weeks of ripening left.
For the cream cookie its just lots of nutrients and endless defoliation. She is developing beautifully and is putting on some weight now. She is quite tricky with nutrients but does not stress too much with all the buds she is working on.
Enviroment has been steady 45 - 60 RH and 20 - 24 C, though i am sure the other vegging plants would appreciate more humidity.
Hello hello!
Cream cookies is approaching a plentiful harvest, and the smell is really coming in. She has a palette of vanilla and cookie dough as expected.
As for her diet, she is now taking 5ml / L FP until she is about ready, then a flush.
She is finally stopped producing new leaves, even though the nitrogen has been cut for a couple weeks now. No more defoliation for this gardener. It has been atleast 15 hours defoliating her, but it is paying off. She has a very even and full canopy.
Im thinking she has to cure for a while.
For her last week:
She was on ripen for 2 weeks, then flushed for 5 days. Of those 5 days, 2 were spent under a light blocking tarp. Lots of maturing happening the last week.
Hello hello!
Cream cookies is getting her final flush today!
Lets see how she develops this final week. I will let her medium dry, then harvest. The buds are getting deep colors, are nice and big but could be a bit more dense.
I am eager to smoke her. Very inviting pungent cookie dough smell from her is filling the tent.
For her flush: 3ml L Flashclean until 20% runoff then 20L icewater and pot full of ice cubes.
She was dried for 8 days. I am thinking she needs to cure for some time to get her full potential. Loving the bud structure with the orange hairs and light green color.
